Chuck’s Ratings Rise As Season Finale Approaches

Good news from the fast overnight ratings: “Chuck vs. the First Kill” drew approximately 6.22 million viewers, up from about 6.1 million in last night’s final numbers. Even better news, though, is that it increased in the 18-49 demo, rising from a 2.1 share last week to a 2.3 share this week. Way to go, Chuck!

  1. I really hope that nbc keeps chuck. i absolutely love the show and want to keep watching. its like nothing else on tv. i dont know what i would do with out it. keep chuck!!!

  2. Great news! Of course, 7 million would be even better! Keep on spreading the word everybody about the final two episodes of the SEASON (and hopefully NOT the series!). There is a really good 6 minute “Crash Course in Chuck” on youtube that you can put on your Facebook site or where ever that will clue people in who’ve never seen the show (yes, there ARE people like that out there!) – and kind of “invite” them in to watch the remaining two episodes which look to be GREAT. Keep watching/re-watching the episodes on NBC.COM and Hulu. All those web site hits count to advertisers (and NBC). Write letters to the folks at NBC – it really only takes about 10 minutes to put a letter together and send them off – QUICKLY. Sign the petition at http://petitionspot.com/petitions/renewnbcchuck And if you can, join in on the “Footlong Finale” campaign and buy Subway footlong sandwiches the evening of the season finale (April 27th) to show Subway how much we appreciate their support of the show and to show NBC that WE DO PATRONIZE CHUCK’S ADVERTISERS!!! Keep you fingers crossed everybody. Make these last two weeks count. Do EVERYTHING you can to SAVE CHUCK. Imagine how much less “happy” life will be without CHUCK. And thanks again everybody at CHUCKTV.NET. You’re the bomb! Peace! Rev. Rick Holy

  3. I really don’t understand the Neilson ratings. The should give more people those rating boxes. If tried to recruit “Chuck” where I live but vurtually everyone I talk to already watches it at loves it. I guess Kentucky does matter to people in LA.

  5. YES! This is the kind of news I like to hear. The show only deserves the best.

Although, of course, me being an idiot, I forgot that the stamp charge changes when it comes to mailing across the border to America. My viewing doesn’t count and now I’ve got to wait for my stupid letters to return before I can make my voice heard…

*sigh* Sorry, Chuck. I know an army of Canadian’s rooting for you. Keep the ratings coming! ;D

  6. Way to go!!!! I’m still hoping for a season 3

  7. Awesome! And it was up against a new HIMYM this week, so I thought it was going to do worse than last week. The campaigns must be working!

  8. to Robin:

Buy the dvds. You have dvds up there, yes? You can support Chuck by buying the dvds and getting everybody you know who likes chuck to get them. That supports them. I for one am very excited by the 120K additional viewers.

  9. to Fanatic:

Oh, yes—absolutely! I have the dvds and I made sure my friends bought them as well (including other merchandise advertised by the show). We’re all just a little sad that we’re not counted in the original ratings. Even so, we’re doing whatever we can for the show.

Whoo–long live Chuck! I pray the show has many seasons to come.

  10. I LOVE CHUCK!!! It is the most CREATIVE show on tv today. It’s like you get sucked in to thier lives and you really know these people!!! I look forward to many more years of my favorite show!!!!

  11. The other thing we can all do, at least those of us with broadband, is to go to the NBC website and watch the episode there. If you’ve already seen it, do it anyways. Just open it in a tab, and let it run. Those unique views add into their calculations.

  12. Here’s the letter I sent to the NBC execs:
    Ms. Bromstad,

I know there are many letters that come to your desk. Here’s the point. My wife and I are not reached by many advertisers. We despise Crime Dramas, we think the lowball sex joke comedy of every Sitcom on television is beneath anything that the general public should tolerate. What passes for journalism in the news magazines is disappointing. You’ve got one chance to reach people who want to have fun with a show that does not fit neatly into these cookie cutter categories, Chuck.
Please pardon my review of the current state of Prime Time Television, but being in our 50s we expected television to evolve differently. We hoped to have a broader range of programming and it has become narrower. It would not be hard to take an episode of Law and Order, hand it to CSI Whatever and use the same script. Take the same jokes from The Office, use them on any 6 other sitcoms. In my mind, Chuck represents something that is not clearly defined. From what I am reading, the ratings are not as you would expect them to be. I don’t know how sophisticated the analysis is, but I’m guessing that Chuck’s viewers consist of many more people like us, and if your advertisers want to reach us, they have very few choices. I would consider doing some more deliberate audience research before you cancel Chuck. (We did put Chuck in our Neilson diary for the last week of March).

  13. Wooo this is good news!! sorry i can’t help with anything but im a UK viewer and we dont seem to matter =(

  14. Tell your moms to turn off the dancing with the stars!! save chuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhh :OP

  15. YAY!
Everyone in Taipei loves you Chuck 😀

  16. Since Scrubs was gone for such a long time, I hated EVERYTHING on TV – than my bf rented Chuck and I finally found something to replace the idiots that could make me laugh so hard – with the Nerd Herd!! Honestly, I’d be lost without this show now… please don’t make me find something else to replace it with!! I LOVE Chuck!!

  17. BE A NERD, JOIN THE HERD – SAVE CHUCK!

  18. NBC better give us a 3rd season of Chuck or I’ll do THE MORGAN on them… oh yeah
I’m a Brazilian who watches Chuck in France, so I don’t think that counts a lot, but it shows that chuck is worldwide known and it deserves a 3rd season!

  19. Just saw the finally of Chuck, they just have to renew. I would tell you why, but it would be a huge spoiler go watch Chuck!
