I retired from the Canadian Military a few years ago. I can tell you, when you are deployed out in the middle of nowhere, it is truly a big booost to moral to have entertainers come for a visit.

First off congrats on getting the renewal. I love “Chuck” and can’t wait for season three. Secondly as an Air Force HC-130 pilot who left Camp Lemonier, deep in Djibouti (sorry I couldn’t resist) less than a month ago, I’d like to say thanks for coming out. It’s nice to see support for our troops overseas. When I was out there we had Young Jac come out. Not exactly my cup of tea but he was very entertaining and seemed genuinely grateful for the Armed Forces. Hell he even brought the Sergeant Major up and gave him some of his “schwag”.

Like Zac said it really was depressing to see the poverty going on in Djibouti but it was rewarding to see how many people did volunteer to help the community.

Anyways, thanks Zac for sharing your experiences and good luck with the upcoming season.

Please make sure to give Yvonne a kiss for all of us. Wow I hope that didn’t sound creepy.

As a U.S. Service member, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the troops. I greatly appreciated the USO trips in Afghanistan in 08. I love “Chuck”, it is great to see a great actor support the troops. It is much appreciated.

The blog was great and very interesting to read Zac’s impression.
