Save those gift cards tucked in your stockings this holiday season, Chucksters, we finally have a release date for Chuck: The Complete Second Season on DVD and Blu-ray! Already released in the UK, Warner Bros. Home Video announced this morning that  season 2 will land in stores in North America on January 5, 2010.

In addition to all 22 season 2 episodes, the 6-disc set (4 discs for Blu-ray) includes the following bonus features:

  • Truth, Spies and Regular Guys: Exploring the Mythology of Chuck
  • Dude in Distress: Exploring Some of This Season’s Best Action Sequences
  • Chuck vs. the Webisodes: Web-Originated Mini-Featurettes
  • Chuck: A Real-Life Captain Awesome’s Tips For Being Awesome
  • John Casey Presents: So You Want To Be A Deadly Spy?
  • Declassified Scenes
  • Gag Reel

Pre-order Chuck: The Complete Second Season now to have it arrive on your doorstep January 5.

P.S. We know they’re missing the holiday shopping season. We realize it looks like a bonehead move. We are not Warner Bros. and have no control over the release date. We are ordering copies for Christmas anyway and putting IOU’s in stockings.

^A great move taken from Morgan… hah!

  2. Michael G. says:

Let me be the first to say…It’s about GD time! I’m going to blow through the episodes at least once more before S3 begins.

  3. No episode commentaries? Aw, maaaaan…

  4. Ardaz says:

Does anybody know if this bonus features are the same that the ones in the UK DVDs?

  5. stargazer says:

Sigh, why couldn’t they release it a month earlier?? :( I still haven’t seen most eps from season 2. I’d have had a Chuckaton for the Christmas break.

  6. Craig says:

Will “Chuck vs. The 3rd Dimension” actually be the 3D version on the DVD or the 2D version?

  7. Brett says:

If its the same as the uk version it will have the 2D version and the 3D version as a bonus feature with 3d glasses

  8. Liz says:

I wonder if Chuck will be coming back in January in co-ordination with the release of the Season 2 DVD……hmmmmm

  9. Atlee says:

I know the folks who run the studios are brilliant business people, etc. but I still still can’t get my hands around why they would release it just after the Christmas buying season.

Especially, since the news now is indicating a January start to the new Chuck season.

Wouldn’t it be better if Chuck S2 was released in the middle of December? A lot of Chritmas sales would happen, and could get more people interested in S3, after having watched S2 over the Christmas break.

Sure would like to ask the WB studio chief that question.

    Check this out,

Chuck – Returns in December Bigger and Badder?

Variety is reporting some good news for Chuck fans (though BSC is firmly team-Walker)! It looks like NBC has ordered six more shows when it returns, a date that they are now (and have been) speculating might be sooner than we think. The last we talked Chuck here at BSc was to report that the likes of Angie Harmon, Kristin Kreuk, and Brandon Routh would be making appearances when the show returns!

I was just wondering is that the actual cover on the DVD/Blu Ray?
It reminds me of the movie poster for a Bond Flick. I think “For Your Eyes Only”.
    I love it.

  12. Blueangel says:

I’m sad that it won’t be out till after x-mas but it will be more reason to have my family put IOU’s in my stocking so i can get them to get me it when it comes out.
I’m also excited about the extra… looks like even more then the in the S1 dvd. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

  13. Ryan Tundley says:

How come Chuck season 2 does not come out on dvd in america until 5 jan 2010, but it came out in the uk on 5 oct 2009, in which I pre-ordered, watched and loved with all the extras and 3-d episode with 3-d glasses (inside dvd).

  14. Simon-K says:

I don’t know if anyone will still read the comments on this, but i’m asking just in case. I’ve just got Chuck season 2 on DVD for Christmas (im in the UK) and i’m loving it! However i’m a bit confused, I thought the series was coming with the 3D episode and 3D glasses? Mine seems to only have come with the 2D version and no glasses. I wondered if there were two different versions, but I can’t find a different version on sale? Can anyone explain it? Am I wrong do they no come with the 3D episode?

    • Sam Bartle says:

The UK release is weird.. initially it came in a card slip case with 3D glasses.. (ASDA sold this version), but I ordered it from Play.com and got a normal plastic case only with no 3D glasses..

The 3D episode is actually there on disc 6 as an extra (its in 2d in its normal slot on the earlier disc in the series) though.

      Weird. Stupid. Bit of Both!
