CASTING NEWS: Christopher Lloyd Heads to Chuck! (SPOILERS)

With the last Chuck until March 1 upon us, Josh Schwartz took to Twitter to give us some scoop: Christopher Lloyd has signed on as a guest star in episode 3.16! What a coup! Says Josh, “Back 2 The Future [is] a huge CHUCK influence!” They must be on cloud nine to have snagged Doc Brown. Lloyd will play Dr. Leo Dreyfus, a CIA psychiatrist who provides therapy for spies and ex-spies (see more about the episode here).

Updated: Ausiello notes that Lloyd’s psychiatrist is someone Chuck turns to for therapy.

  1. 1.21 gigawatts!!!!!!

  2. Does this mean the DeMorgan is coming back?

  3. I have loved him since he played Jim on Taxi.
Not that I am old enough to remember – must have seen it in reruns on a nostalgia channel LOL.

  4. The DeMorgan was the first thing I thought of when I saw this!

Chuck always gets the best guest stars! The first Back to the Future has always been one of my favorite movies. This is awesome news.

  5. !!!! Oh my gosh. Brilliant! So excited.

  6. Does this mean Chuck will be an institution. Poor Chuckles.

  7. Dr. Leo Drefyus, Is that a reference to What about BOB! Richard Drefyuss played Dr. Leo Marvin.

  8. My question is: Will this be a single-episode guest spot, or are we possibly looking at a recurring or semi-recurring character?

    • So far it appears to be a one-off, but wouldn’t it be awesome if he were a recurring character? Surely there are plenty of scenarios where a psychiatrist would be useful.

  9. According to the casting call https://chucktv.net/2010/01/29/spoilers-episode-3-16-casting-call-title/ Some of episode 16 takes place in the symphony which is where Morgan appears to be sleeping. Maybe Casey tranqued him?
I know Chuck has a special brain and all, but having an intersect in your head must give you issues. I’m suprised he hasn’t shown any symptoms thus far.
