Rejoice, Chuck fans – according to Deadline Hollywood (a reliable enough source that we’re ready to post this article we’ve had ready since February), NBC has seen the light and renewed Chuck for a fourth season!
Update 8:45PM: Ausiello is giving a (qualified) confirmation.
Update 8:55PM: Ausiello says the renewal is for 13 episodes to start with, option to pick up the back 9.
Update 9:10PM: The Live Feed is now confirming the renewal for season 4. THR also confirms that ABC has picked up V for another season, currently helmed by former Chuck producer Scott Rosenbaum.
Update 05.14.10: Josh Schwartz let the masses know via Twitter that he got the official call from NBC this morning.
Update 05.14.10: NBC’s official press release announcing the return of Chuck! Timeslot/episode order not yet revealed.
Update 05.16.10: The Live Feed crashed NBC’s tech rehearsal and got the scoop on the network’s schedule to be announced later today. At this point, Chuck is set to return this fall, Mondays at 8/7c, followed by new series The Event and Chase. NBC is touting Mondays as “action-adventure night”.
Update 05.16.10: NBC confirms the schedule noted above: Chuck returns Mondays at 8/7c this fall!
Update 07.15.10: NBC just released their fall premiere dates, and contrary to previous rumors, Chuck season 4 is confirmed to debut on Monday, September 20 at 8/7c. See you there!

I’m very happy Chuck has been renewed but I hope they get back to what made the show great in season’s 1 and 2. Season 3 drove me crazy with the Chuck refused to run away with Sara nonsense. Chuck or any other heterosexual male would run away with Sara given 15 minutes heads up.

Season 3 drove me crazy in that sense also. I think of the first 8 episodes as a suicide mission, as well as being full of flaws, plot holes, mistakes, etc. All that can be traced back to a single mistake: the absolute, miserable failure to update Sarah correctly. The whole run away flashback thing was the first example of this, and the whole concept of either run away and be together or be spies and not be together has been a glaring flaw to me for a while now. Probably the biggest flaw/mistake of the season. Why is it a flaw? Well, correct me if any part of the following is wrong, but when Sarah was with Bryce, they were a couple and spy partners at the same time, were they not? Therefore, Sarah never should have thought that that was the way it had to be in the first place. Hence the flaw and the failure to update her. Another thing that bothers me is that in Prague, Chuck never said anything like “I can’t run away with you, but once I become a spy, then we can be together and be spies at the same time”. Then, in the American Hero, he’s saying “but wasn’t this the plan?” even though it was never even mentioned before.

I totally love CHUCK! I love the story, the cast, everything about CHUCK! Can’t turn off my laptop without checking on videos/websites, any update, about CHUCK! My desktop wallpaper is CHUCK. I have a printed t-shirt of CHUCK logo. I really love wearing CHUCK Taylor shoes. I could totally go on and on but I’m busy watching re-runs. Can’t get enough of it. OMG!! I’m a total CHUCK-fan/addict!!! and I’m very proud of that.

I wish you luck being able to tolerate the first 8 of season 3. They’re pretty bad with only a few exceptions. If you’d like to know, there’s also chuckmeout.com, which is the other major fan site, then there are some smaller sites including I believe chuck-online.net, and ones that are dedicated to Zach and Yvonne. NBC also has it’s own site for the show.

ok wow. thirteen and another back nine to hope for. thats as good as we’ve had the whole series. thats awesome! i cant believe that fans of chuck could do such a thing! its mindblowing! theres only one thing i dont think is smart for nbc. if they want higher ratings, which im absolutely sure they do, why dont they move the timeslot? we are stuck in a struggle with 3 other top shows that are much more dominant in ratings! at one point, we have to change the timeslot. im sure there are a ton of chuck fans who arent recognized in ratings because of our timeslot. look at the sunday premiere. the first episode racked up 7.7 million ratings! the second one 7.2, as some people went to bed probably. and then our ratings went back into the 6 millions. i want the best for chuck, and hope it never gets cancelled, but at one point i think nbc has to change our timeslot, at least for a while to experiment with ratings. if not, i think nbccan pull the plug on the show, even with the millions of fans.

The timeslot as always frustrated me as well. We have to compete with House, which is by far the biggest competition, DWTS, and whatever comedy stuff CBS has on. I can only imagine the ratings Chuck might get if NBC gave it a better timeslot. I’m actually worried about season 4 because since it’s starting in Fall, that means we’re going to have to compete with the monster that’s Monday Night Football. And that’s not good. What’s worse is that assuming NBC doesn’t order the back 9 (I hope it does, that’s obviously the smart move), the show won’t get a chance to air any episodes after the NFL season has ended.
