It’s a good day for Yvonne Strahovski! Not only is Chuck‘s renewal pretty much a done deal, but her movie, Killer Elite, has been picked up for distribution in North America! ComingSoon.net reports that Open Road Films signed on for a wide release (2000+ theaters) in North America this autumn.
Killer Elite, an action thriller in which Yvonne Strahovski co-stars with Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro, was inspired by true events. The film follows Danny (Statham), one of the world’s most skilled special-ops agents. Lured out of self-imposed exile to execute a near-impossible feat of retribution and personal salvation, Danny reassembles his old team of operatives to help rescue his former mentor (De Niro), and to penetrate the highly feared and respected military unit, the British Special Air Service (SAS). Facing off against a covert group of ex-SAS soldiers known as “The Feather Men,” who, under their leader Spike (Owen), provide a deadly cloak of security around all SAS members, Danny and his team must take down a rogue cell of solider assassins before their actions result in a global political meltdown.
The film’s whirlwind action crosses the globe from Australia to Paris, Wales, London, Dubai and Oman. The story is based on Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ controversial non-fiction novel “The Feather Men.”

I’m sorry, but when I see Yvonne in movies, all I can think of is Sarah Walker. It was like when I saw the Chipmunks: Squeakuel, Zach’s character just reminded me of Chuck. I just can’t see them as any other characters
Yeah me too. I watched the ” Canyon ” several times, kept saying to myself ” Sarah wouldn’t
do that ” pretty much ruined the movie for me.

Fingers crossed for a Melbourne premiere, because I’ll be there, and hopefully I’ll be able go as a guest! So excited! And it’s so good that it’s such a huge release. This with the combination of a renewal certainly makes this one of the greatest days for Chuck fans.
finally! this is really gonna be a great season for us Chuck fans, season 5 of Chuck and Yvonne in a De Niro film — Awesome!
its really nice to see Yvonne in a film that gets a good release in North America. I am hoping she gets more work out of it, she is a fantastic actor and i would hate to see her go back to Australia when she is done here with Chuck (we know it will happen eventually, hopefully that is season 11 :-). It seems like she has done a fair number of summer movies in Australia (not sure if that is because she wants to go back and visit, really hoping its not because she is not getting work here).
Great for her. Movie sounds very interesting and I love that she gets such extraordinary actors as DiNero as partner.
But wow it feels like forever since the announcement that the movie is done.
How big is her role? Hopefully this means we’ll finally get to see Yvonne’s lovely face on the talk show circuit again. I don’t understand why Zac is the only one that is sent out on these things to promote the show. Don’t get me wrong, Zac is great, and I enjoy every moment he’s on, but I NEEED me some more Strahovski…
