Ratings Up for Season Finale

I’m still recovering from last night’s season finale of Chuck, “Chuck vs. the Cliffhanger”. I haven’t fully digested everything that went down. I do know that it was as epic as Chris Fedak promised it would be. I also know that more people watched!

Ratings news this morning is pretty encouraging, with Chuck rising 0.1 to 1.5 in the 18 – 49 demo from last week, which means 4.47 million people tuned in. Nice way to end the season, Chucksters!

  1. should it be 4.47 “million” people instead?
    Thanks anyway!~~

  2. What difference do ratings make now for this season, we know we are renewed and only getting 13 more episodes (happy and sad at the same time).

I’m a little worried for the fall, that with Morgan being the intersect now, ratings are going to be so bad that NBC will cancel well before 13 episodes. We have to wait and see how this change plays out, but I can’t help but think that this will have the same effect that early S3 had and we lose even more Chuck fans.

    • You’re right, at this point the ratings don’t make a difference at all. So does that mean you want me to stop posting them?

      • Isn’t it still possible they will add on additional episodes next season? Even if not, I’m always interested in ratings, so please continue sharing this info!

      • Jennifer, you can find your answer here:

        And okay! 😉

      • Lets get more than 13 eps for season 5 whos with me Chucksters? tweet fb use any net sourse

      • Liz do you think/agree its possible and should let Chuck get to 100 eps milestone

      • I totally agree. I think it’s important that we get to the 100 episode mark, and only 9 more episodes isn’t too much to ask. What else are they going to put on Fridays anyway? Might as well be an established show.

      • I really want a total of 100 episodes for the 5 seasons of Chuck!!!!!!!!!!~~
        I also want a perfect ending!!!!!!!!~~

      • Its definately possible we need to do as we been

  3. No don’t stop posting ratings 😛

I agree that giving Morgan the intersect could hurt the final 13 episodes. However Morgan was honestly an annoyance in the team. There is no real reason to bring him on missions before and at least now he’d have a job.

More importantly each member fits in well with the private spy team.

If they keep the intersect in Morgan, they need to make sure that he doesn’t become the focal point of episodes because honestly with only 13 more episodes I’d rather them focus on Sarah’s past and the whole deal with the Eraser. Wasting episodes on Morgan’s past or focusing in on the intersect would hurt the fourth season.

    • I agree with the hope that the episodes don’t focus too much on Morgan. Personally, I’m hoping that the glasses work more than once, or that Beckman gives Chuck another pair so he has the intersect.

I am interested in this private spy team, though. Am eager!

      • Morgan as the intersect is so unbelievable. I’ve been mad all season he’s in the “spy game” at all. He only hurts this whole thing. This better be one of those things that’s resolved in one episode. His brain cannot simply be capable of story and processing everything. Seriously.

      • Pulling for Sarah!

Now that Ellie has made improvements to the intersect, Morgan being the intersect would be believable. Ellie obviously has improved the intersect to the point that potentially anyone could have it downloaded.

The fact that the glasses were a plant from General Beckman has really got me excited about where the season could go.

Even though Chuck/Sarah are married, you can have a lot of potential fun friction as they find their footing in the marriage and try to run an emerging mercenary enterprise. Who’s going to lead, how will the responsibilities be split. I sense some real spy fun coming. I trust the writers and can’t wait for fall.

However, I still don’t trust the NBC execs.

  4. Today morning I went to Wikipedia and saw the ratins 10.0 million viewers. I thought it was true but now obviously it was a joke. Too bad. 🙁

  5. THATS GOOD ABOUT THE RATINGS BUT WHEN SEASON 5 STARTS WE NEED THE RATINGS HIGHER LIKE THEY USE TO BE IN THEIR 7 MIL TO 9 MIL IF WE WANT TO BE KEPT ON AIR

What happened to the 25th episode? I can remember that NBC ordered 25 episodes for season 4!

    • There was always only 24 total episodes for season 4. Read about it here:

      https://chucktv.net/category/news/page/39/

  7. Who knows…what with the show kind of going in a new direction AND on a new night, it just might bring in a whole new fan base to add to the already very faithful and loyal fan base that has been there for the past four seasons.

  8. How ’bout we take that “cool billion” and split it among us 4.47 million, after Chuck and Sarah Bartowski get their half. That sounds good, doesn’t it?

  9. I am excited for fith season! But please could it be possible for all us CHUCK fans to rally and make the fifth season NOT the Last!

  10. There must be some way to make the fifth season NOT the last!!

  11. Even if THIS SEASON is over we’ve still got one more season. And even though that will be our last. Even with 13 episode maybe we’ll get a little more (with good ratings) just to prolong our need to say good bye (??) (thank god for DVDs so we can relive the the fun and skip parts we hate.)
But please don’t stop post rating Liz!

  12. I was happy with the ending, although not overly ecstatic. They could have ended the season much better than this.
I feel like they were afraid that the finale was going to be the last episode ever so they rushed the wedding scene. They could have totally made that a dream sequence of Sarah (while she was still unconscious due to the poison) and ended the season with the cliffhanger of whether she lives or dies.
Furthermore, making Morgan into an intersect is a rather interesting approach, but that would also mean a distraction from the “everything up until now is a plan” arc. I really wish they would focus 95% on that in the next season.

    Forever and always love Chuck.

  13. Lets get more than 13 eps for season 5 whos with me Chucksters?

    • Me me ! (Waves arms in the air) so if we want more ratings still count for the last season. But even if we don’t i think this coming season will be blast.

      • blueangel are you on twitter and facebook I’ve tweeted and facebooked the idea

The episode had a lot of good plot points, but felt very rushed. It could have been stretched out to two episodes.

I put it down to poor writing and editing. After all that talk in 4.22 Agent X, Chuck and Ellie should have fixed Volkoff. Clyde Decker was introduced all too suddenly, they should have eased him in, in prior episodes.

And What happened to Director Bentley?

The back 11 story arc is all over the place. Should let Phil Kemmer write the final. Sadly its not as solid, as Chuck once was.

  15. GO CHUCK LETS GET 100 EPS

  16. Just in no chuck rating adjustment TVBM

  17. I really don’t want the fifth season to be the last…is there a way for us CHUCK fans to come together like we have in the past!!!

  18. Ready for seasonn 5 and more 🙂

  19. Hi, I think the main reason why we lost fans and the ratings got lower and lower is becasue of the story as I think in season 1 and 2 was a little more dramatic and more mysterios because of the fulcrum and later the ring. The ending in season 3 was kind of lame with the ring..and I think the story just became too funny.
Now I like the way creators think with the hole ending in season 4 ,:)
