BREAKING: Chuck Premiere Bumped to October 28

Head’s up, Chuck fans! NBC just announced that they’re pushing back the premieres of both Chuck and Grimm one week – to October 28 – as part of a two night Halloween-themed event. I’m not sure how “Chuck vs. the Zoom” is considered Halloween-themed (read the official synopsis here), but Grimm certainly fits the bill.

What do you think about this move? I’m…befuddled. (And I’ll bet Matt, who took off work on October 21, is pissed.)

  1. Wow, and I just posted over in the official synopsis thread for 5.01 that NBC’s promo monkeys messed up. Doesn’t seem from the description that Chuck vs. the Zoom is much of a Halloween-themed episode, though, does it?

  2. I can see GRIMM moving closer to Halloween, but Chuck? What are they thinking? I feel so bad for Matt.

But I’ve been promising my nan (who is almost already in tears) that I’ll finally shave my beard on the 21st – I had a similar idea to Zachary Levi’s beard-growing during filming breaks between seasons.
How do I break the news to her, NBC, ey? Any chance of moving it back?

  4. Kind of annoying. I wonder if that pushes back the S4 DVD release? Also gives them one less week to judge ratings for a possible back order before they’re wrapped.

  5. Another ‘good’ decision from NBC, i wonder if the new management is composed of actual humans or monkeys, with NBC shows getting ‘great’ ratings this fall im more inclined to say monkeys, monkeys who hate money !

    • The axiom is that if you give a monkey a typewriter and an infinite lifespan, the laws of probability exist that would allow the monkey to create both a successful fall lineup at NBC, and a reliable timetable.

Ok, a very quick photo of the beard…
I think I should also point out that, unlike pretty much the majority of bearded men (/women?) around the world, I’ve just let my (as it is my first beard) grow ‘on its own’, with only small ‘interventions’ by myself when it became far too scary for the small kids on public transport…

And I guess I could always just ignore my nan for a week? It’s for her own sake, right?

  7. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I was so excited!

And of course, I won’t be home that night. 🙁

  8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  9. Well, crap…Hopefully, I’ll have time to request the 28th off, too! Ha ha 🙂

  10. Damn! This pushes my craving back another week. CAN NOT WAIT!!

  11. Seriously?! Three words: NOT AWESOME GUYS!!!!!

  12. #$@% *&%$@# &*
    Halloween theme………does not compute.

  13. ok, i know we the fans should be greatful 4 the 13 episodes to wrap up our favorite show chuck, then we are told instead of sept. we have to wait until oct 21 and the dvd is also pushed back too): now we are on hold once again for 7 more days until the 28th(now i have have to start being nicer to my hubby as my kids have school stuff that night, trunk or treat etc yuck): not sure how much more i can be pushed back, seems every year we wait on pins and needles for a renewal on chuck meanwhile all that is on is a bunch of reality crap, maybe instead of reel wives of new jersey they should do the real life of a chuck fan they could call me or the guy with the big beard, not liken the wait time, so sad

  14. Just shows they have no respect for Chuck.
I hope we see Chuck continue to the Movies 🙂

  15. This kinda good thing for me. My Aunt Getting Married on Oct 21! I was sad was going miss chuck season premiere. Yes I am DVR chuck But I still love see it LIVE. TOO!

  16. Nothing NBC does makes sense these days… Sorta explains their position as a network.

  17. Great, its premiering on my birthday! 🙂

  18. I wonder if the way the premiere was pushed so late into the fall if we will be seeing the Christmas episode in Feb and the Valentines day episode in April.
