SPOILERS: Fedak Talks Christmas, Casey in Prison, More

Chuck executive producer Chris Fedak chatted with the lovely Sandra at EW this week, giving her some scoop on the upcoming Christmas episode (5.07 “Chuck vs. the Santa Suit”) and teasing Casey’s stint in prison.

“The Christmas episode works almost as a finale in its own right for the first half of the season,” EP Chris Fedak told me this week. “For all the characters, there’s a lot.”

But before we get to that, last week’s epic ending with Casey must be dealt with, and Fedak promises Casey’s troubles are not to be taken lightly. “You’re going to get that prison episode you always knew you wanted,” he says, laughing. “It’s a big deal. One of the things that we’ve always thought about is when our characters do stuff like shoot a bunch of bad guys, they’re killing people. That is, they are breaking the law. So we wanted to see, in the nature of making Carmichael Industries about the CIA and not giving our guys a Get Out of Jail Free card, we wanted to deal with that. You’ll see next week, they’re going to have to pay the piper.”

The episode will also see the return of Carrie-Anne Moss, who Fedak says is “outrageously awesome” as Verbanski. But while I’ve been fascinated by the past Verbanski shared with Casey, Fedak says we won’t be seeing any flashbacks because “unlike a lot of the women from Casey’s past, Verbanski is very much about the future.”

Oh man, this is gonna be good! Chuck returns with all new episodes Friday, December 9 at 8/7c on NBC.

  1. “Verbanski is very much about the future.”

I still say the series will end with Casey and Verbanski teaming up for missions. It’s the only ending for Casey.

  2. I see a spin off effort in the works. One in which Casey and Verbanski team up while Chuck and Sarah keep working and retiring (like Brett Favre) each week.

    One can hope 🙂
