NBC released their primetime line up for the week of January 1, giving us the official synopsis for Chuck episode 5.09, “Chuck vs. the Kept Man”.
GERTRUDE VERBANSKI RETURNS WITH A MISSION FOR CHUCK AND A PROPOSITION FOR CASEY — CARRIE-ANNE MOSS GUEST STARS — While Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) contemplate the next step for Carmichael Industries, Casey’s (Adam Baldwin) forbidden love, Gertrude Verbanski (guest star Carrie-Anne Moss, “The Matrix”), walks back into his life with a questionable mission in South Beach. Meanwhile, Jeff’s (Scott Krinsky) enhanced intelligence leads he and Lester (Vik Sahay) to suspect that something unusual may be happening at the Buy More. Joshua Gomez, Ryan McPartlin and Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.
Yes! Gertrude is BACK! Also, Jeff & Lester get suspicious. “Chuck vs. the Kept Man” airs Friday, January 6 at 8/7c on NBC.
I really hope Jeff and Lester finally figure out what’s been going on all this time.

There is a ton of potential here. Imagine Casey and Gertrude together making fun of Chuck and Sarah… and back at you, lol.

I’m starting to like the intelligent Jeff. I’m not entirely convinced, however, this will be his salvation. He had such a good backstory in Tom Sawyer and it’s nice to see the character getting to change it up a bit.

Wow, with a storyline like that, you can definitely tell they are wrapping things up. Cuz we all know that if Jeff and Lester figured it out it would most likely be at the end of the series and if not they would forget the next day…lol

I always thought Jeff and Lester Should have been brought into the spy game – using their unique skill set – They could be tranked and brought to see “Charles Carmicheal” to do a mission for Chuck and Sarah – not knowing that they are working for them. It would be quite funny I think.

This….. I’ve actually thought on this before. It would’ve been funny. I picture it like coming before the ring council all shrouded in darkness. Chuck disguising his voice and Lester and Jeff cowering in front of him like Dorothy & friends when they meet the great wizard of oz. Less toto of course. 😉
It’ll probably refer to someone else, but I could see them joking about Casey being Gertrude’s “kept man” since her company is currently so much more successful.
