  1. Someone unexpected will play a pivotal role in saving the day.

    Jeff. I vote Jeff.

    • I second the nomination.

    • or it could be lester

    • I’m thinking Morgan. In the promo, Shaw tells Chuck that he doesn’t have an intersect to save him this time and Chuck replies “don’t be so sure.”

So either Chuck gets re-intersected by smootching Beckman into it (I think that I just threw up in my mouth a little) or he is playing some sort of mind game and Morgan comes out with his frosted tips.

      • My theory is Chuck tries to break into the CIA headquarters to reupload The Intersect (Which is why see him in disguise as Santa with Beckman at the CIA HQ)

      • Yeah, I got that same immediate reaction when Chuck said that in the promo—it’s Morgansect to the rescue. Argh. That would be quite disappointing and a squandered opportunity given the several episode foundation-laying in Jeff’s character.

Also, wasn’t there a spoiler before about this episode where Jeff starts to suspect something else is going on at the BuyMore besides retail sales?

Finally, both of us could be right. You seem to be jumping to the conclusion that the showdown between Shaw and Chuck is the “save the day” moment. It might not be.

      • “Someone gets shot” is not really a spoiler. Someone gets shot in every episode, lol. But the way it’s phrased makes you think it’s one of main characters.

        So I’m guessing Chuck.

This is more wishful thinking on my part than anything. But I could see Sarah going off on her own in Baby because Chuck is injured and, although he protests, is not up to it.

      • Really hope that if someone gets intersect back it´s Chuck because it would be very dissappointing if the one taking Shaw down would be Morgan…

  2. Jeff saves Sarah…. Does that strike you as weird?

  3. The promo that aired after tonight’s episode terrified me. I do not want to see Sarah in danger/peril like that for 35 some odd mins =(

  4. I don’t think it will be for the whole episode, but definitely part of it. That promo got me super excited for the episode though.

  5. Shaw is back, and after that Promo tonight, he is DEFINITELY playing a VILLAIN! How could he possibly not play the villain? Nothing else would make any sense. After all Sarah did kill his wife; how could a violet killer spy like Shaw “Be OK with that?”
This will be one of the best episodes since CHUCK vs the Other Guy.

  6. I have been totally ok with Chuck not having the Intersect this season, but I have to admit, the lines at the end of the promo (“This time there’s no Intersect to help you.” “I wouldn’t be so sure about that,”) got me totally psyched for next week! Not that I was’t already, but more psyched.

  7. SUPER excited about this episode! Great Christmas treat. I really hope Ellie helps Chuck develop a new intersect though. It’s going to be awfully tough taking Shaw down without one. Maybe Shaw’s intersect gets infected with the super virus? It does go after software and programming… wouldn’t THAT be funny…

  8. how come at the NBC website under Chuck the next episode is labeled “Chuck vs. the grinch” and not “chuck vs. the santa suit”?

    • Interesting. It seems like a better title, actually, based on the previews.

As for the Intersect… I have two thoughts:
      1) Chuck realizes that in a way he has not really lost it and defeats Shaw entirely without it (which would be a great full circle for his character
      2) Sarah in mortal peril again from Shaw finally unsupresses the Intersect

I don’t think he’d try to reacquire it at this point, but I’ve certainly been wrong before.

Chuck seems like just the kind of guy who’d dress up in a santa suit to make someone happy, be it kids, Sarah, etc.

  9. Predictions:
Chuck uses his completely awesome computer skills, and the fact that he is a bartowkski to recreate the intersect.

  10. Predictions:
    1. Chuck uses his completely awesome computer skills, and the fact that he is a bartowkski (teaming up with Ellie for that brain knowledge) to create a new, better than shaw’s intersect.
    2. Chuck realizes that the chuck merely helped him to do actions he was always capable of and becomes a super spy with no intersect.
    3. Chuck never has the intersect, but instead a tactical advantage (morgan on sniper?) Essentially it is a bluff.

    • I have to add something to this… after rewatching yesterdays episode. Perhaps Alex comes through, did you see those theatrics? Natural born spy. I bet she can shoot a sniper just like her dad!

  11. OMG!! I don’t want anyone to get shot! (Unless it’s Shaw of course ;p)

  12. ooommmmgggg SO EXCITED FOR THIS EPISODE!!!! It looks really intense!

  13. if you watch the promo, you can obviously tell its casey who is shot. in the gun fight scene that we see a clip of, he like kinda screams and then you see him on the floor and he is holding his knee and it looks bloody.

as for the intersect thing, i sort of hope chuck doesn’t get it back. i think the show is doing a really good job of keeping his character awesome without it.

but if chuck is off at CIA headquarters, casey is shot, and sarah is with shaw… some one super unexpected will need to save the day.

    CANT WAIT!!!

    • I noticed that too and I was kind of irritated. Casey seriously gets shot again? Come on. Is he the only person on Team Bartowski that can ever get injured?

    • If that’s all happening while Chuck is off at the CIA…he better hurry up!! Morgan will probably try to take matters into his own hands, maybe recruiting Jeff, and Alex, thus winning her back (Imagine her seeing him come to her injured father’s aide)

  14. Someone unexpected huh?
What about Mama B. ? He did kill her hubby after all..

Shaw: Nobody can save you now Chuck (about to kill him)
Mama B. shows up: Hey dickhead, that’s for my love Orion (empties a mag into Shaw)

  15. Just a little twist to the exchange about the Intersect, but how about Chuck somehow turning Shaw’s Intersect against him? Maybe, a program or something played through the tv’s at the buy more that makes Shaw’s Intersect go haywire like Chuck’s did.

  16. Someone gets shot!!
It’s Casey because casey always the person who gets shot!!!
Casey gets shot in his leg 3.03
Casey gets shot in his leg 4.03
Casey gets shot in his leg 5.08
At least casey didn’t get shot in 5.03:))

I think something has to happen to Chuck because it’s last season,

  17. Im thinking, that the unexpected person will be Alex.
In this episode, Morgan tries to win back Alex (Read the spoiler “Morgan tries to win Alex back” or something.. That means we probably will see lot of them together. But im betting on to The General aswell.

And about the intersect theory. I dont belive that Chuck gets the intersect back. He is quite good without it. Getting back the intersect would ruin the progress Chucks has made without the intersect. Id rather guess, that something happens so Shaws intersect, IF HE EVER HAS IT, still. Afterall Shaw was a very bad boy and pissed off NSA and CIA in season 3 final.

    But its only my opinion.
    Sorry about grammar.

  18. WOW! I’M SO PUMPED FOR THIS EPISODE! I REALLY hope that Chuck gets the Intersect back, that’s what the show was originally all about!

  19. Did anyone else notice in the promo that it looks like Sarah is wearing the charm bracelet that Chuck gave her? Hopefully it will bring her luck, cause she looks like she is going to need it.

  20. On the promo it looks like Casey has blood on his pants. So I’m guessing he is the one who gets shot by Shaw.

  21. Definitely, think Caey is the one to get shot. Hopefully, Shaw is back for more then just one episdoe, he is a great villain even if viewers can’t forgive/forget the relationship between him and Sara.

  22. I don’t want Chuck to get the intersect back, I think he’s doing just fine without it! I think that, since it’s the last season ( 🙁 ) we should see him become a spy without “cheating”.

  23. after reading everyones comments i do believe that Casey is the one who will get shot, but i do think Chuck will get the intersect back. He is a Bartowski and with Ellie’s help they will make a new one, they still have most of the data from the Orion computer that was broken at the end of season 4. Also Mama B probably knows more than what she says, she knew about the agent X files, so theres definitely more to this episode than meets the eye. Neither Chuck nor Sarah get hurt because the next episode has them healthy and dealing with Sarah’s MOM!!! 🙂 so it has to be Casey that gets shot, it happens to him on Christmas.

  24. Anybody noticed that bruise in chuck’s face (under left eye) in last scene promo???

  25. Hey all,

Am i missing something? Ellie tells Chuck the sunglasses is only one reload. Basically saying it only works once. So why are people saying that chuck possesses the Sunglasses Intersect?

My thoughts is that Shaw will return as the intersect; my only shred of evidence is the fight between Shaw and Sarah. Shaw comes out victorious and has Walker Captured. It seemed somewhat easy for Shaw to do this and could be the work of intersect. However there is compelling reasons for the purpose of Shaw’s return and whether he possesses the Ring Intersect. It maybe that Shaw no longer possess the intersect and looses it while in custody by the CIA. Furthermore we have established That Vulcran, Ring and Volkoff were mere ‘pawns’ for the Big plan. This maybe the reason Shaw returns. However it seems unlikely as the capture for Sarah was pointless in some way. Something else that needs to be addressed is whether Chuck has the intersect or not. I think he does have the intersect. Reasons for this is the fact that the fight between Shaw and Chuck, Shaw attempts to Taunt chuck by mentioning the fact he has no intersect. In which Chuck replies “don’t be so sure”. This either indicates he has the intersect but maybe a different version or he’s trying to stall for a purpose. Either way this episode is the biggest twist in season 5, thoughts anyone?
