2012 In Review: Joshua Gomez

In addition to our usual Chuck Year in Review feature, coming later this month, we thought it would be fun to take a look at what some of the Chuck cast and crew have done this year following the end of the series. See the complete round up here.

By all appearances, Joshua Gomez had a quiet year, at least professionally. His Twitter feed has references to Mass Effect 3 and Borderlands 2, so the geek remains strong in him, but he’s also been busy creating independent movies.

Josh co-wrote and starred in a movie (or possible pilot) called Buds alongside his brother Rick Gomez, and familiar Chuck faces Mekenna Melvin and Mercedes Masohn. The project follows brothers Donny and Frank, owners of their own medical marijuana dispensary in the Valley, as they go on a search for a special blend requested by a gorgeous customer. A trailer for the film is available on YouTube (warning: NSFW).

He also co-wrote and starred in the short film Money Shot, a comedy about two friends running an unsuccessful adult film studio in the San Fernando Valley. The raunchy comedy also stars Scott Krinsky. A trailer for the film is available on YouTube (warning: really  NSFW!). Both movies are looking for distribution deals, but could be hitting theaters soon.

Josh hit up Comic Con this year as well, joining his Chuck family for a reunion at Nerd HQ and spending time with fans.

Will 2013 be the year Josh becomes a comedy mogul? Follow him on Twitter for updates!
