The CHUCK Connection to Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D

While catching up with some Chuck folks this week, I found out something awesome: we now have a connection to S.H.I.E.L.D., the hotly anticipated Marvel series from Joss Whedon.

No, none of the Chuck cast are appearing on the series (to our knowledge…they keep things pretty secretive over there; I keep hoping Adam Baldwin will guest star), but prop master Scott Bauer and his crew are working on the pilot, currently in production. You may remember that Scott answered some fan questions about items used on the show, giving us the inside scoop. In telling me about his new project, Scott said, “It’s a lot of fun and very similar to Chuck. Joss is a very cool person to be around.” Are you guys geeking out over this? Or is it just me?

Scott also worked on the second season of [easyazon-link asin=”B00ADQPA38″]American Horror Story[/easyazon-link], which he recalls, “was it’s own kind of crazy but I’m very glad to have worked on it.” “Crazy” doesn’t even begin to cover it!

  1. Hey Mel- hope you are prosperous and well. Cannot believe one year has gone by since we saw Chuck and Sarah on the beach. It is amazing that I would miss them so much. Have you heard anything about syndication? Also, I remember reading on this site sometime ago the statistics regarding the success of ‘Chuck TV.Net’ and the podcasts. The number of viewers etc. in relationship to other websites and podcasts. It was quite impressive. However, I cannot find the info and wondered if you could help me out. Thanks, Paul

    • Are you talking about the Year In Review articles? We included data like that at the end of those posts. Do a search for “year in review” in the search bar at the top of the page and see what comes up.

Haven’t heard anything about syndication yet. As soon as I do, I’ll post.

      • Mel- I was talking about an article you did which talked about the success of your ‘Chuck’ wesite and podcasts when compared to all other such sites existing to cover the entertainment world. For example, your site was in the top ten ( or whatever the number is) of all such sites or podcasts existing on the web. It talked about how successfull ChuckTV.Net was in the web world by listing the actual numbers as compiled by whoever tracks those statistics. I did not find them in “year in review”. I hope that helps. Thank you.

  2. That doesn’t sound familiar, Paul. While ChuckTV.net is/was the largest Chuck fansite in the world, I don’t think we’ve ever posted numbers to that effect. Maybe you’re thinking about the Podcast Alley ranking for Chuck vs. the Podcast? Gray has those numbers, but if I recall correctly, we were the top TV podcast for something like 3 years straight according to their voting system.
