Chris Fedak Heads Back to NBC with New Project

Chris Fedak and NBC are going back into business together. Deadline reports that Fedak has a new drama series in development with Legendary TV, the first project from the new television branch of Legendary Studios, purchased by NBC.

The project, currently untitled, “revolves around four “broken” people from different walks of life who all have one thing in common — a new chance at a normal life thanks to an anonymous organ donor whose body is used to cure them of their ills. But the ordinary becomes extraordinary when they learn that the mysterious donor was Earth’s mightiest hero, and now each literally carries part of him inside themselves.”

We’ll follow the project as it goes through development and, hopefully, launches on NBC next season.

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the Chuck series finale. It feels like a decade …

  1. After the awful finale (and lots of bad writing before that, S3 in particular), why would anyone ever want to watch another Fedak show. Chuck only survived 5 seasons because of the incredibly talented, charismatic cast.

    • I loved the finale and I’m looking forward to Fedak’s next project.

    • Agreed….Fedak totally blew off the fans with the finale. Chuck and Sarah had no happy ending (who wants to leave it to their imaginations?) while every other character did. I still have a hard time watching it. I would wath his next project but I would hope that he would respect his fans more next time.

  2. I’m with Nell and Aaron on this. I will REFUSE to watch any series that Fedak is involved in after the finale of Chuck.

  3. I can’t completely agree with Mel on this. For me, the finale was so open-ended as to be bewildering. There was a glimmer of hope to be sure, but I wanted more. However, Fedak gave us Chuck; he was responsible for the whole of Chuck, not just the parts that I wasn’t thrilled with, and for that reason, I also look forward to his next project, and hope very much it sees the light of day.

  4. agree with Mel. Chris and Josh gave us Chuck, for which we will always be grateful.

  5. It’s not that I don’t appreciate what Fedak gave us with Chuck; on the contrary, he, Josh and the others gave us and great concept and a great cast and five great seasons of what wound up being my favorite show ever. What I didn’t like is that everyone except the title character and the person who had the most character development throughout the series (Sarah) all got their happy endings. Why should it have been left to our imaginations to envision that they would find their way back to each other. To this day I find it hard to watch the finale. I felt cheated. I just hope that whatever he does in the future he will consider his fans more.

  6. I still can’t believe the anger that the finale brought about, I got different things from it, as I loved it and anyone who hated it is certainly entitled to, but Chuck is one of my favorite shows of all time, I loved it’s tone, that mix of comedy and seriousness and that sense of geekiness and family and warmth and most of all the fun that the show made me feel. I loved the cast and I honestly think that problems that people had with the plot and the ‘will they or won’t they’ stuff will wash away when new viewers are binge watching Chuck. Chris Fedak’s premise sounds very intriguing and I hope that the show gets greenlit and has those same tones that we’ve come to expect from one of his shows. Heart/Fun/Warmth/Family mixed with Danger/Intrigue/Action/Adventure.

  7. I have mixed emotions for supporting any new Fedak projects. True, Fedak gave us Chuck but, he pulled the rug from underneath us in the finale. I could not help but feel horrible, heart broken for Chuck. This poor guy went through HELL to win the love of his life. Only to go back to that hell. It’s just not fair. I too have a hard time watching the finale. A complete debacle. Only hope I/we have is for a Chuck movie that HOPEFULLY would right this wrong.

  8. Nope, Not me. Chris Fedak got his one shot with me. Chuck was my favorite show & Chuck & Sarah my favorite TV couple.

He ruined it. The finale & season 5 in general, were an abomination to me. From Morgan getting the Intersect, to Shaw’s return, again, to Fedak ruining Chuck And Sarah by having Sarah trying to kill Chuck for an hour plus & not remembering him or their relationship at all. The little hints & the quickly rushed beach scence re connect were certainly not enough for this fan.

How Chris Fedak could call season 5 of Chuck a “Love Letter To The Fans” is just beyond me.

No sir, unless we get a Chuck movie & the wrongs done to Sarah’s character & to Chuck & Sarah’s relationship are corrected, I will never watch another Chris Fedak show ever again.

  9. I most certainly would love a movie, but I would not want Fedak to write it. Maybe Ali Adler or someone who remembers what Chuck and Sarah went through to be together. If he was going to spend the entire finale destroying their relationship he doesn’t deserve to write the movie. Josh has ended his other shows (The O.C., Gossip Girl) with the primary couples together. Why not Chuck? I just finished re-watching Fringe and even Peter and Olivia had a happy ending. After the Chuck finale I don’t even want to go near a Subway. I guess our love letter (to the fans) got lost in the mail.

  10. Hope Zachary Levi is cast on this too
