My last marathon.

GHMike:
I have a tradition.  It started because I didn't start watching Chuck until Season two. So I went back and bought season one and watched the whole season in short order.  I then added season two and ever since every summer I've tasked myself to watch the whole series complete, and now this is my last.  So I'm going to post some musings about the seasons as I watch them.

I've already breezed through season one. Ironically, given my avatar, I didn't like Morgan. He was a whiney slacker who held Chuck back and was Creepy with Ellie. I'm left wondering what would of happened if Awesome had  turned out to be a Russian Spy? Would he and Ellie "hooked up?" Eww, even I would hate that.

Rachel Bilson's Lou is the highlight of the season. She is in my mind the only plausible love interest who ever was a legit threat to Sarah.  I think she represents the life Chuck could of had if he had not met Sarah.  ( I also think Cole is Sarah's only plausible love interest, but thats season 2)

Episode wise there are two I love a cut above the rest   "Chuck vs the Truth" is awesome and I think the first time we start to see professional barriers breakdown between the team.   Sarah calling Casey her partner and him liking that.   and Sarah Shooting the poisoner.   very awesome. Additionally we see for the first time how far Chuck will go to protect Ellie.  and that makes him all that more amazing.
The next one is of course " Chuck vs the Imported Hard Salami"  it's got it all.   Rachel Bilson, Matthew Bonner and of course.. The KISS!!   This may be one of my top 5 episodes of the entire series.

Up next Season two and my favorite guest star of all time.   John Larroquette as Roan Montgomery

The episodes you mentioned specifically are my favorite for the season as well.
I agree with you on vs. The Truth.  I have always thought that was the turning point in the Sarah/Casey relationship.  If I remember correctly, Casey's jokes from that point on seem to get more personal, and he began to see Sarah as a benefit to the team, not just someone who has to be dealt with cautiously.
I also think that it is this episode that Sarah starts to realize  she not only enjoys Chuck's company, which I believe she always did, but has legiimate romantic feelings for Chuck.  THose are partly due to the fact that she must tell him a lie that is in response to a direct personal question to her.
That directly causes her reactions in vs. Imported Hard Salami, and I believe is the major reason why she kissed him in front of the time sensitive capsule.

I agree with most of your favourite scenes. I'd add that the look on Sarah's face when she sees Chuck and Lou together at the end of Truth is heartbreaking. In Season three she tells us she fell for Chuck early on  (before defusing bombs in the pilot) but I think this is the first real indication that she has strong feeling for Chuck...and doesn't know what to do about them.  I don't think that we see just how difficult her position is until Broken Heart where every word that Chuck/Sarah have said is used against her.

BTW there is no need for this to be the last marathon :)

GHMike:
True, but it will be the last time I get to add new content to the marathon..   :'(
