Chuck‘s getting a new mentor, the form of The Daily Show‘s former correspondent Rob Riggle. Ausiello reports that Riggle will appear in episode 4.08 (no title yet) as Jim Rye, a super-positive CIA agent tasked with helping Chuck improve his spy skills. His character is described as “super smart, intensely positive, and slightly crazy”. Well sure.

Casting News – added 09.24.10

Nerds of the world, rejoice! Ausiello just confirmed that none other than Summer Glau is headed to Chuck as Greta in episode 4.08 (title TBA). That means we’ll have two Terminator alumni on the show: Linda Hamilton (the original Sarah Connor) and Summer who appeared in the TV series. We also have the potential for a Firefly mini-reunion between Summer and Adam Baldwin. Fan-freaking-tastic! This episode is slated to air Monday, November 8 on NBC.

Last seen in a recurring role on Dollhouse, Summer will be a regular on the NBC mid-season superhero series The Cape.

Updated 09.27.10: Per Fancast’s Matt Mitovich, Summer and Adam Baldwin will share at least one scene, and Chris Fedak hints that Firefly fans may get an inside joke of our own.
