Our annual Chuck year in review feature is admittedly brief for 2012 since the show ended its five-season run in January, but tradition is tradition! For scoop on what the cast and crew have been up to this year, check out the other features in our 2012 In Review series.

January was the Chuck‘s big month in 2012 with five episodes airing, including the two-episode series finale on January 27. First came “Chuck vs. the Kept Man”, followed by “Chuck vs. Bo”, “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train”, and finally “Chuck vs. Sarah” and “Chuck vs. the Goodbye”. The series finale was polarizing, to put it mildly, and generated thousands of comments on our site alone.

Throughout the month various Chuck people promoted the show – Adam Baldwin appeared on CNN, Yvonne Strahovski was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, E! Online spoke to most of the cast on set, and we had our own series of interviews with Zachary Levi & Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin & Yvonne Strahovski, Vik Sahay, and Scott Krinsky. Leading up to the finale, Google hosted a very interesting live discussion with Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak, and Fedak answered 30 questions for the Huffington Post.

To help fans through withdrawal, we posted the Chuck Support Group which generated more than 500 comments – a record. We also tallied up all the callbacks in the final two episodes and voted on the Ultimate Song and the Ultimate Villain (click to see the winners).

Post-finale, TVLine talked to Schwartz and Fedak for the answers to burning questions, Fedak talked to the Huffington Post, and we solicited your questions for our podcast chat with Chris Fedak. We also ran our annual fan survey to find out what fans thought about the final season and the series as a whole.

In honor of Chuck’s five seasons, we created an infographic, Chuck by the Numbers, tallying everything from number of episodes to JEFFSTER! performances to how many times Sarah appeared in a bikini. In March we posted our final episode of Chuck vs. the Podcast, saying goodbye to the series.

The fifth season was released on DVD and Blu-ray in May, and the complete series was released in a box set in October. Also in May, the NBC Store released a set of collectible figurines featuring Chuck Bartowski, Charles Carmichael, Sarah Walker, and John Casey. In the real world, Zachary Levi hosted a Chuck reunion at NerdHQ during Comic Con in July with most of the main cast reuniting. (And yes, both Zac and Yvonne believe that Chuck and Sarah were happy together in the end.)
