It’s week five of Chuck Me Mondays! This week we’re watching “Chuck vs. the Sizzling Shrimp”, when Chuck runs into his first major moral complication. Here’s the official synopsis:

MORAL STIR-FRY?– Chuck (Zachary Levi) faces his first moral dilemma as a spy. When agents Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) refuse to help an unauthorized mission that is taking place in Chinatown by a top Chinese spy, Chuck is faced with a tough decision. Either go against the U.S. government and his friends, or do what he believes is right? Meanwhile, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) is caught in a dilemma of his own when Buy More forces him into a sales competition that could cost him his job.

Love the steakout scene. Chuck is such a nerd. :)

  2. TVobsessed says:

I love the family interaction between Ellie and Chuck in this episode. I made a little blog post about it.

  3. Halley Smith says:

Great timing for this episode with the fireworks shown in this episode and we are so close to the 4th of July!

  4. Darth PaJon says:

This episode establishes why Sarah Lancaster was the right choice for Ellie Bartowski. She demonstrates a strong yet understanding older sister for Chuck. On the one hand she’s having to adjust to Chuck’s new life (even though she’s oblivious to how different his life is) and provides a strong central balance in reminding Chuck that he is an amazing person, and having a new woman in his life shouldn’t change his good qualities.

“Hey, Stakeouts are kind of fun!”

  6. Chuck Fan says:

Hope we trend on twitter this week. More people need to know about Chuck. Such a great show. ;)

  7. Agent 86 says:

Another great episode. I agree about Sarah Lancaster. She’s an awesome actress (different style than Yvonne who is about the best actress I’ve ever seen on tv!). Can’t wait for 9:00 pm eastern. Can’t wait for March 2010. Chuck Me Mondays!! Twitter away!

  8. Gord says:

Somebody mention how appropriate having fireworks episode for 4th of July.
Here in Canada we will be having our fireworks on 1st July for Canada Day and of course for tonight with sizzling shrimp.
I guess I will have to listen to my stakeout mix while waiting to start the show.

  9. Gord says:

I was watching the deleted scenes to wait for the hour.
Love the Spastic colon scenes they cut out.

  10. Gord says:

An evening with Morgan to prove that she has something to bring to the relationship.

Casey he’s a happy person (love that exchange between Chuck and Sarah).

Morgan needs his fix – like the serious look on Sarah until she realizes the fix is fireworks. Yvonne really has a great range of facial expressions.

A girl that beautiful with a colon that spastic.

    This is great stuff.

  11. Eonwe says:

Man that reminds me I’ve got to go get some good fireworks before all of the really loud violent stuff is gone. Have to have some for the party to go along with the infamous roundheel punch.

  12. SarahFan says:

    Sarah: My God!
Morgan: You can just call me Morgan, babe, but I appreciate the enthusiasm.

    Funny.

  13. SarahFan says:

    Chuck Season 3 approved…My 4 favorite words.

  14. Mike B says:

You gotta love the look on Chuck’s face when Sarah is fixing his hair….priceless.

  15. SarahFan says:

I like how they are becoming more comfortable with PDA with each other.

  16. Gord says:

This was a really great episode for Ellie.

Loved her bonding scene with Morgan, then she saves the day.
Also liked her heart to heart with Chuck.
I think also this is the first episode where Chuck misinterprets the intersect flash or is he just a flash faker.

Great show, can’t wait until next week.

  17. SarahFan says:

When do we usually find out the Twitter results?

  18. Pat S. says:

I love when he’s on the stakeout eating sizzling shrimp, and listening to “Private Eyes”!

  19. grcommander says:

Best ine “A tail on a tail”

When you think about it the intersect may be useful to national emergencies, but Chuck always gets out of the car and saves the day without fighting the bad guys in season 1 and 2 save the finale. Love the fight scenes with Sara and Casey, always a lot of action.

  20. grcommander says:

Pat S has the stakeout right. Especially when the dinner arives. Also noted how Chucks’ face brightens up When Ellie talks about Chuck loving Sara.

  21. Sidney C says:

oh my god the spastic colon line.
one of my absolute favourite chuck quotes of all time!!!!

  22. GabbyD says:

apart from the time with friends and family issue, one of the themes of this show regarding the spyworld is: can chuck’s values be reconciled with the spy world’s?

the answer seems to be yes, if chuck can find a good excuse for it (like defection).

correct me if i remember wrong, but this is the last time chuck convinced sarah and casey to go with chuck’s values, until all the way in season 2.

i hope that one day, in season 3, they can reverse it — they can show that chuck’s (naive) values can be wrong, and its casey and sarah that teach him this lesson.

  23. dsm9412 says:

This is somewhat unrelated, but Zachary Levi threw out the first pitch at the Dodger game last night.

  24. Chuck Fan says:

@dsm9412. That certaintly is off topic but totally awesome. I hope theres a video on utube about that. Zach Rules :)

  25. SarahFan says:

    Yeah, Zac rules!

  26. For the person who asked about the Twitter numbers, I posted them in the Chuck Me Mondays thread. :) I usually post those numbers within minutes of the episode ending. We trended to 9th place like the previous week but with less tweets. So, had we tweeted as much as the previous week, we might have done much better.

Still, trending is what matters, and having fun. :)

  27. SarahFan says:

    Thanks, DarthRazorback
