With the last Chuck until March 1 upon us, Josh Schwartz took to Twitter to give us some scoop: Christopher Lloyd has signed on as a guest star in episode 3.16! What a coup! Says Josh, “Back 2 The Future [is] a huge CHUCK influence!” They must be on cloud nine to have snagged Doc Brown. Lloyd will play Dr. Leo Dreyfus, a CIA psychiatrist who provides therapy for spies and ex-spies (see more about the episode here).

Updated: Ausiello notes that Lloyd’s psychiatrist is someone Chuck turns to for therapy.

The DeMorgan was the first thing I thought of when I saw this!

Chuck always gets the best guest stars! The first Back to the Future has always been one of my favorite movies. This is awesome news.

  5. Amy says:

  6. Chuck Fan says:

Does this mean Chuck will be an institution. Poor Chuckles.

  7. FAN says:

Dr. Leo Drefyus, Is that a reference to What about BOB! Richard Drefyuss played Dr. Leo Marvin.

  8. Ambaryerno says:

My question is: Will this be a single-episode guest spot, or are we possibly looking at a recurring or semi-recurring character?

    • Mel says:

So far it appears to be a one-off, but wouldn’t it be awesome if he were a recurring character? Surely there are plenty of scenarios where a psychiatrist would be useful.
