Zachary Levi Tells Spanish Media Season 4 Is “Likely”

As we posted earlier, Zachary Levi is in Spain to promote Chuck before continuing through Europe on his tour. Zac gave an exclusive interview with Spanish website www.formulatv.com, where he talked about Chuck’s chances at another season.

Zac declared: “I think that it’s more likely that we will have a fourth season, but we don’t know. We should find out in one more week. The upfronts are in May 17th but I hope I will get a phone call in more week saying you have a job”.

What will he do if proven wrong? “If Chuck doesn’t come back I’ll keep growing the beard, I’ll learn Spanish better, another show, hopefully some movies… The television schedule is very long and crazy, there’s not a lot of time to do movies when you’re doing television. So there will be more opportunities to do a movie or… videogames, I don’t know,” he laughed.

When asked about directing an episode this season, Zac said “it was amazing … I have always wanted to direct, write and produce. I just was waiting for the right opportunity, and this was the right opportunity. It was difficult starring the show and direct the show at the same time”. “It turned out very good, I think. I was very proud at the end of the day”.

Zac also talked about his recent singing experience with Katharine McPhee. He confessed: “I love singing and hope that I can do it professionally in some way, but acting is my bread and butter. If people like, maybe I’ll do some more, but if people don’t, maybe I’ll stop”.

The full interview (in Spanish) is on Formula TV’s website. Many thanks to them for providing the English translation of Zac’s comments for us.

  1. More, please, in whatever capacity, Zac. Especially Season 4 of Chuck! 😉

  2. So Chuck’s star is thinking the show might get picked up? IGN also said that NBC will be giving word soon. Man the wait is a pain. Im glad I only watch one live action show on Tv. I don’t think I could take all the stress involved of waiting on shows being picked up for another yr.

  3. Did somebody know where else Zac is gonna be for this Europe tour???

  4. @sandy:Today Zach is in Italy(Milan):)

    • Thanks Sam 🙂 I’m from Luxembourg and I’m hoping he kinda come a little nearer from here, like Germany or France 😉

  5. I have a feeling that they were already told on the fate of Chuck. They just wont tell the fans yet 🙂

  6. Awesome news! I sure hope NBC are leaning towards a renewal 🙂

  7. Yvonne recently gave a radio interview during her “I Love You Too” promo tour, where she also said she believes Season 4 is a go. Agree with Iahium above; think that it is t’s being crossed and i’s dotted for the pickup, but still keeping fingers crossed for good luck.

  8. God i do hoppe chuckdoes come back the wait is terible!

  9. Funny thing is that there is another Spanish site that says that the show will be coming back for a 4th season. So either they know something we don’t in the US or they just reported it incorrectly.

This is all great news. the wait is killing me

  11. That would be good news indeed! There are too many good stories yet to be told now that Chuck and Sarah are together not to mention Casey and Morgan!

I would also like to see Zach have a chance to sing during an episode in season 4. Perhaps Chuck playing the undercover role of a singer at a nightclub where he sings a love song that is also intended for Sarah.

  12. Can someone answer please….How come 30 rock got less viewers than chuck but got a higher nielsen rating? Why is nielsen ratings more important than the number of viewers?

    • I think you mean the demo (2.7 number). That number has to do with how many people in the 18-49 age range are watching a show. You’ll often see shows on CBS, for example, that get a lot more overall viewers than something on Fox, but Fox shows skew younger (e.g. people in the 18-49 range watch their shows) so their “demo” number is higher. For better or worse, advertisers focus more on the demo than overall viewers.

  13. Thank You Mel for clearing that up

  14. I hope they get a firm commitment as to air dates from NBC before they go into production this year. Season 3 was variously going to begin in November, January or March or something like that, before they finally settled on January 10th. That meant no Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s or Chuck’s birthday episodes. I miss those because they add mightily to the “heartwarming” aspect of the show.

    • Exactly! They tout themselves as being a family show, so what better way than to incluce family gatherings for holiday celebrations.

  15. Mel! Check out this article! Chuck is on the “looking good” list 🙂

  16. Took some time for me to read through all that Spanish. Pretty cool that he speaks it so well.

But after this I’m pretty positive that we’re going to see a fourth season.
