Yvonne Strahovski has been cast in the upcoming action film The Killer Elite, led by British stars Clive Owen and Jason Statham. Yvonne’s role is that of Statham’s character’s girlfriend and will, says the film’s producer, launch Yvonne in a big way. Of course we’re all familiar with her acting skills and total gorgeousness, but this could indeed bring her to the attention of a worldwide audience.
The Killer Elite begins filming in Melbourne this week, so it looks like Yvonne will get to spend her Chuck hiatus on native soil again.

not that im not happy for her, but if she hit the real big time what would keep her on chuck? the better job offers would just keep rolling in

yeah, same here. I’m happy for Yvonne but also worry that she might leave Chuck. Yes, there’s the 6 years contract but I just REALLY REALLY do not want to see that happen.
The film will not be out till next year at the earliest as well.

Jason Statham kicks @$$!!!! But Clive Owen’s action movies have been a little lackluster. Or downright bad. Haha. Hopefully Yvonne makes it better.

That’s very cool for Yvonne–hope everything goes well with her movie!
It’ll be a shame if filming keeps her from being able to come to Comic-Con with the rest of the cast, though (assuming that “Chuck” gets picked up for a fourth season).

great news for yvonne. why would yvonne ditch Chuck? Besides the 6 year contract that she subscribed (which can be resolved but is not that easy to do so), there are a lot of actors out there who are movie stars and at the same time are major characters of a series. For example Catherine Heigl who did 27 Dresses….and still is a star of GA. I think as long as it doesn’t affect her screentime everything is fine. Also featuring a star of a show can be good for the show itself because it brings publicity
Perhaps not the best example since Katherine Heigl did make a whole hullabaloo and left Grey’s Anatomy this year to be with her family and work on feature films.
But to me it seems Yvonne genuinely loves working on Chuck and if it’s working for her to be on Chuck and movies in the off-season, I say all the power to her!
i know but Heigl is an example that you can work on movies and a series at the same time. That she left now is of course not so good. But it take some years to get there too
Thanks to Yvonne coming back out to Australia they are finally airing Chuck on free to air!!!! The world is right again!! So happy!! all Australians, watch channel go, wednesday 7.30!! eeep!!

i am not worried about her future in chuck though.i really hope that chuck gets a 4th season so that her name rise to stardom and fame.
The Sarah Walker character is vital to Chuck but Yvonne needs to keep working and we are not sure Chuck will even be around. I have seen a few of Yvonne’s films as well as some film clips–hopefully she will be in a better position to pick her parts–I have not cared for any of her movie work I have seen-not because of her but mainly the storylines and her costars. This may be a big break for her, I hope so–of course I would like to see Chuck take up at least the entire 6 years of her contract.

Being someone’s love interest is not the same thing as carrying a feature film. This is great news for Yvonne, but probably nothing that would lead to her leaving Chuck overnight.
I hope the role does not taint the Sarah Walker character–good to hear she is finally in something with a big budget–wonder if her boyfriend is still tagging along–my first interest is Chuck but I wish her the best
I think we would all like to see here finish her 6 year contract on Chuck and maybe a renewal. I also think it is great that she is getting more film roles (as someone mentioned above it allows Yvonne to show off what a great actor we all know she is and maybe get a little bit more attention for Chuck :-)). It would be nice however if she would get more film roles here in America as she would get more attention if that was the case and would give her even more reason to stick around and keep doing Chuck.

Good for Yvonne. Really do action movies do the well at the box office. None of Jason’s movies have done well at the box office. Plus it depends on when it is released and what movies are out at that time. I guess we will have to wait and see when they release the movie.
