Justin Hartley and Jeff Fahey to Guest in Chuck Season 5

Zap2It has the scoop on two guest stars heading to Chuck this season, along with a little glimpse at what Carmichael Industries is up to in season five. Smallville‘s Justin Hartley and Lost‘s Jeff Fahey will play brothers in episode 5.02, “Chuck vs. the Bearded Bandit”.

Fahey plays Karl Sneijder, owner of a South African diamond mining company who has been investigated by the CIA for criminal activity in the past, but the agency wasn’t able to pin anything on him. Hartley is his younger brother, Wesley, an anthropologist who studied at Dartmouth and Oxford. When Karl’s enemies kidnap Wesley, Karl turns to Carmichael Industries for help.

In addition to two cool guest stars (fun fact: I saw Justin Hartley as a restaurant in L.A. last autumn when I there for a Chuck set visit), this also gives us an idea of what kind of missions Team Bartowski will be running now that they’ve gone private sector. And with the previous CIA probes into Karl’s activities, that means they’ll likely need to consult Beckman.

Are you getting excited?! Chuck season 5 premieres Friday, October 21 at 8/7c on NBC.

Updated: Per the 5.03 title and plot teaser just posted, we know that these two must be appearing in Chuck episode 5.02.

  1. Wesley Sneijder is a football (soccer) player…. interesting…

  2. Hmmm…interesting. Sounds like the kind of stuff Papa B did, like father like son?

    Can’t wait…

  3. wow. Chuck is getting better and better in terms of “guests.”

  4. I don’t know – it seems like it’s going in the direction of Burn Notice. I don’t know if I like that. I love me some Burn Notice, but I love Chuck much more. the “Client of the week” theme, which it seems like the plotline of ep. 2 describes, might get old quick. I hope the last season is more than that.
