TV Guide’s poll this week is “Winning Pairs”, your favorite on-screen couples. Chuck and Sarah are part of the poll, but they’re getting clobbered by the Moonlight and Bones fans. Vote early, vote often!

Zachary Levi introduces the new Nerd HQ
A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the possibility of Nerd HQ’s return. Well, …
Only around 550 responses to the poll—the poll item which will impact the future of the show the most is the love triangle (geometry). Has a surprising few votes however with the angst generating news about season three I imagine a lot of viewers or ex-viewers feel it is useless so why bother—they may feel that way in March or April. Apathy—several episodes with the ex-superman is also not very stimulating unless it is in a negative Way–love triangles really are not wanted. Bring back the adventure and comedy, do away with the heartache. Remember there are a very minute number of viewers on line–the millions not voting will dictate the shows future–believe me there will be no contest on how additional angst is received.
I want Chuck and Sarah to be a real couple, confident of each others deep love and loyalty for each other. I also want them to have fun as a couple doing non-spy activities, possibly including Ellie and Awesome in some of the activities. Hopefully they pursue the bad guys as a team. As of the end of season two I think the wounds caused by disappointment and the feeling of betrayal created during the “Break Up” episode have not healed in Sarah’s mind. She said she expects disappointment. In the “Best Friend” her staring at Chuck’s hand makes you think that in spite of what Chuck said she feels no one really cares very deeply about her. Chuck’s affair with Jill did not do anything but hurt the situation. Chuck is going to have to resolve the doubt in Sarah’s mind in order for them to be a trusting, loving couple. The best way to remedy the situation is for Sarah to see the surveillance tapes of Roan Montgomery when Chuck says he would give up his life for her, the white coat rental conversation would help, Bryce Larkin’s two conversations putting pressure on Chuck to break up to save Sarah’s life and of course the statement to Chuck’s Dad “I love her!”. They need to start living together as a couple and they need to walk out the door every morning with smiles on their faces. Chuck needs to do really nice things for Sarah to enhance their relationship. They also need to tell each other that they love each other intensely.
This loving relationship will really enhance the show to a large majority of viewers. A lot of these folks do not take the time to participate in polls on TV relationships. It will really have a positive impact on the comedy and adventure of the show. It makes it easy to recommend the show to friends and family. A great wedding in one of the late season three episodes would be wonderful!! I would like for them to win the TV Guide contest but I feel the “angst” F&S have elected to generate will hurt them in the vote. Most viewers are sick of love triangles and very concerned about season 3. Let Sarah and Chuck’s love save the show for a season 4.
Hey Larry, you know this article is from January 2008, right? I think you’re the only one reading it at this point. 🙂
