Chuck Climbs Again

Last night’s fast overnight ratings are in, and Chuck saw a bump in viewership over last week with an estimated 6.01 million people tuning in to watch Chuck go after his dad, his dream job, and the Intersect all in one packed episode. That all-important 18-49 demo rating held steady at 2.1 as well. Expect both numbers to increase a bit when the final ratings are announced later today.

  1. On other tv site the rating is 6.01 or 6.03

  2. Rating is 6.012 mln (6,030 – first half & 5.994 – second half

  3. I expected better ratings because of Chevy and Scott. Sad but i hope that NBC will give us a third season.

  4. Woe is Chuck and Heroes – http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/04/07/woe-is-chuck-and-heroes/16118

  5. In the last EP Chuck does not have the Intersect in his head, I think the show is over no more chuck. I loved this show.

  6. i dont think for a second the show is over just because he loses the intersect. game changer remeber hes probably gonna put it back or something they dont tell you the best bits or you wont watch cause you know them. but from what i have read over the past few weeks and from the interview with chris fedak, i think theres a pretty strong chance of a season 3, game changer final and everything is heating up on chuck. only thing is did the ratings go up because big bang theory wasent on??

  7. Chuck has one of the most talented casts on television right now, and a unique, engaging plotline that keeps getting better and better. The only things I’d recommend for it would be to make the BuyMore side of its plotline more interesting, instead of resorting to cheap gags that oftentimes fall flat and, quite frankly, disrupt the main plotline. Some character exploration could go a long way.

Bottom line: Chuck has a great deal of potential. It would be a real shame for NBC to axe it so soon. And let’s face it: what better alternatives do they have?

Also, Nielson ratings are getting more and more obsolete by the day. Almost everyone I know who watch Chuck watch it over the internet. The reason why reality shows like Dancing With The Stars get such great ratings is that they have to be watched live, as opposed to dramas, which can be watched at the audience’s convenience (and commercial-free) over the internet. Chuck has a bigger fan base than I think NBC execs realize. The real revenue for NBC comes from exploiting that fan base, including fan merchandise, etc.

  8. Right on JZ. Most people who like chuck would probably be watching it online since they can’t steal the tv from their parents who want to watch reality tv. The final figure according to wikipedia is 6.1 mil which is good. CMON NBC GIVE US A 3rd SEASON!!!!

  9. our electric bill went up coz of chuck lol.but its worth it, i always watch chuck online. God im so hooked with this show THIS SHOW IS SO AMAZING..

  12. CHUCK, is the one only show the family sets down to watch. Most shows we DVR and watch later.
The cast of Chuck is interesting. But after watching the last couple of shows I can’t help but see a future cast shake-up, like NBC did ER and other past series.

  13. I think Chuck will end up choosing to have the intersect put back in his head because Beckman will threaten to take Sarah away rather than making her choose to quit the CIA. I also think he will miss the spy gig. He chose in several eps to go with Sarah and Casey on missions when he was off.
