Our first Chuck Me Monday was a success from several angles. All the fan feedback has been positive and excited about the experience. Watching with a group of Chuck fans commenting and Tweeting is a blast! Here are some numbers from last night to give you an idea of the impact we made on our first outing:
- theWB.com reports that views of “Chuck vs. the Pilot” jumped 63% yesterday!
- conservative estimates show 2500 Tweets using the #ChuckMeMondays tag from 9PM-10PM ET last night.
- #ChuckMeMondays hit #5 on Twitter’s Trending list by 9:20PM ET.
- #ChuckMeMondays hit #4 on the Trending list by 10PM ET (after the episode had ended).
- 90 comments were posted on the Chuck Me Monday post last night.
Nice work, Chucksters! Be sure to join us next Monday, June 8, for “Chuck vs. the Helicopter”. We have some fun extras in the works, including a giveaway!
It was great it was like having a big party without having to clean up the mess afterwards.
After I watched the Pilot, I needed more Chuck, so I watched 2.1 The First Date. One thing that struck me was a similarity between Chuck and Get Smart (as portrayed in the movie)
Although not particularly skilled as a spy, and inspite of the panic on the outside he keeps his wits about him and manages to get the job done. I loved how he bluffed his way out of the sticky jam and at the end Clark Michael Duncan says to Casey and Sarah – “That agent Carmichael is good”
What a hoot. I can even watch the reruns over and over again.
Wish it was a different time or another viewing for Pacific time fans.
6pm here we are just getting home with the kids from daycare and getting them dinner, so IMPOSSIBLE to sit and watch and tweet Chuck at that time.
Any thoughts on having a 9pm West coast time viewing for us out here in PAC time zone?
only a 63% increase in thewb.com’s “chuck vs. the pilot” views? that means there weren’t even twice as much views as on any other day? wow…
too bad WB doesn’t work in Germany…
For some reason I was not able to view the Chuck episode at the WB until after the group viewing was over. Fortunately I hit play on my DVD at 9pm so I was able to follow the show and twitter. I know I tweeted a fair amount but I was also impaired by stopping to fight with the laptop while trying to tap into the WB feed. Also I copied and pasted #chuckmemondays #chuck: and put the comment after that. I did goof a couple of times, but I got more tweets this way then if I typed them each time, while using my Blackberry. This was an incredible amount of fun. I can”t wait until next Monday with episode 2. Another suggestion I saw tweeted about after the show ended was to watch it beforehand and come up with list of comments, so next time you are just going right down the list. Another great idea from the Chuck Fans. Thanks to all that participated! Halley Smith http://www.twitter.com/Charah673
It’s definitely a shame people outside of America can’t watch on the WB site. Chuck has a large fanbase that is not just in the U.S.A.
I loved Twittering about Chuck. It was a lot of fun!
I had a blast. Although it was hard to watch, tweet, blog and pay attention to the show. lol I think I might watch the eppy at 8 and then rewatch at 9 and tweet. I was so stressed trying to do it all! lol But it was a blast. I’ve decided to replace the eff word with Chuck. So far, lots of fun. Anyone who knows me would realize now how much Chuck has entered my vocabulary! lol Chuck on Chucksters! Looking forward to next Monday!
In a follow up post I think I may have gone to wb.com instead of thewb.com not sure, but both sites look very similar, but it is possible in the exitement as it was about to kick off I typed the wrong address. Not sure but it is a logical conclusion and it would explain why I couldn’t view it at 9pm.
Hey there, everyone! Can anyone recommend a web site with a GOOD Chuck screen saver (I don’t want the Nerd Herd one, I want something better). Believe it or not, I’m still using my ALIAS screensaver on my 6 – I mean now 7 year old Dell laptop. It’s still going strong, but it needs a CHUCK screensaver!! My wallpaper is an AWESOME picture of Yvonne/Sarah pointing a gun at the camera while looking straight into the camera. I got it off of www.tvbythenumbers.com – a web site which frequently discusses CHUCK (and whose “hosters,” Robert and Bill are Chuck supporters). Also very good is “The Nick C Blog” (Nick C. appears on tvbythenumbers posts all the time). He’s very knowlegable, and also a BIG Chuck fan. Check ’em out.
Peace, All!!
I really really do hate that damn location protection thing they’re using on a lot of American TV related websites, it’s just annoying.. They should like remove it or make it sort out people’s bandwidth instead of where they live.
Great news on the success of Chuck Me Mondays. For those of you who are having trouble tweeting and intently watching the show at the same time, there’s nothing wrong with watching it at 8:00 and then again at 9:00. I’ve watched each eposode at least 3 times and I catch something new each time.
Chuck Me!
Hi again, everybody. Not to try to take away any business from chucktv.net – it’s still my first and primary source for CHUCK info – but in the interest of trying to expose/promote CHUCK to as many people as possible (and recruit new die hard fans like us), here’s a link to a web site (The Nick C. Blog that I referenced earlier) that has a fun idea – Nick is soliciting questions from CHUCK fans to ask Josh and Chris about next season. Apparently he’ll pick a few when he interviews them. Make your voice heard on what you want to ask about for Season 3. Click on this link: http://nickctv.wordpress.com/2009/05/31/1question4chuck/#comment-1022
or if clicking on it doesn’t work, copy and paste in your browser.
Keep up the great work everybody. And THANKS Chucktv.net for “CHUCK ME MONDAYS!!”
I’m Glad it went well. I had to work Late yesterday. I pray for success for Chuck.
Another stat:
#ChuckMeMondays was the 16th most discussed topic all day. So, we did not just trend it for 2-hours. The Europeans discussing it earlier helped that bump.
In total, we had over 3,500 tweets on the day. I think we can do a lot better. Hastags.org counted over 500 messages (not sure what that means, though, since I used Twitter’s own system and that is accurate, so perhaps those were unique users).
I was first exposed to Seinfeld through a viewing party.
Never even watched the show while at the party.
But the seed was planted so I sat through an episode at home and naturally loved it.
That was after Seinfeld’s THIRD season, and I had yet to see it.
We just need to get Chuck in front of more eyeballs!
Thats great. When is there going to be another Chuck podcast. I just cant get enough of this show.
Darth: how do you get counts out of Twitter.com? I didn’t see any way to do that, and I got the same answer from hashtags as you.
My feeling was about 150-200 active posters, and about 2000-2500 postings, so apparently they and I are in the same general vicinity.
I’ll get the hashtag fixed on that flyer tomorrow; it’s been a busy couple of days for me at work.
And does anyone have a tweetlogger?
thanks for those numbers! I couuldn’t tweet much. my laptop was just so incredibly sluggish, i couldn’t even see my typos. but i did a few times. including the Callouses! when Chuck figured out how to defuse the bomb from his conversation with Morgan (it’s from a MadTV parody of House http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_dwtpuJ_yk )
I mentioned in the voting thread that E! has another poll, for best guest star…

Do Schwartz/Fedak ever look at the comments from fans on this website ? Can
someone please advise? Thanks.
It is VERY easy to find out how many people have tweeted #ChuckMeMondays. This is why I am a mad genius. 😉 Do a search right before 9PM ET next Monday for #chuckmemondays. Then sit there and let it count. Every few seconds, Twitter updates how many more results there are. Or, you can just hand count it, but why do that when Twitter does it for you? 🙂
I’m down for next monday. I’ve been re-watching Chuck (bought both seasons in HD from Amazon.com) but I’m good for going back to Chuck vs. The Helicopter next monday.
FYI, if you’ve got the cash, there isn’t a much better way to scratch your Chuck itch… you can stream episodes commercial-free in SD and HD on Amazon via any computer that supports Flash Video, and you can download it to your PC (I download them to my PC so I can watch them on my Xbox 360.) If you’ve got a TiVo or a Roku box or certain Blu-ray players, it works on them too. Plus, HD downloaded episodes are 720p and Dolby 5.1, so it’s just like the original NBC broadcast, only with no commercials. Not bad for 3 bucks an episode.
OK, Amazon commercial over. Bring on Monday!
I own the season 2 episodes on my PS3, and I own the DVD/BD of season 1. But we are watching it via WB since they actually communicate to us the numbers (and are very supportive of our efforts). So, if you can, watch the episodes via WB even if you own them through other means.
