WHO TO BELIEVE? –As Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) continues to come to grips with his newly adopted life as a spy, tension builds between his recently appointed partners Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) and John Casey (Adam Baldwin). When a doctor who seems to have a solution to Chuck’s problem is killed, Casey and Walker turn the blame at one another. Both agents persistently try to convince Chuck that the other one is responsible and now it is up to Chuck to decide which one to trust. Who will he choose?

How can we get either the WB or NBC to reinstate missing episodes for future viewing? Is there another way besides downloading them?
Interesting idea. Might have better luck with the WB though, as they own the site. Wanna bet as “Chuck Me Monday’s” arrives at season 2 that the currently missing eps are posted? Especially if they’re getting a big bump Monday’s at 9? Stay tuned in. Even if you’re watching with friends using the DVD’s, put the same ep on the computer screen. Let’s give them a good bump and see what happens.
I plan on watching tonight. 🙂
That’s the important part. Even if you are watching a DVD with others (or alone for that matter), run the episode on thewb.com. It’s crucial that they get the hits. Believe me, if they see the hits coming, either the WB or NBC will get the first half of Season 2 online ASAP.
@grcommander: theWB.com is well aware of our viewing schedule and fully intends to have season 2 online by the time we’re ready for it in a couple of months. In the meantime, enjoy season 1. 🙂
I love the part where Chuck pulled the table cloth off and it actually came off without any falling over. Everyone was so impressed. That was funny. Then Morgan said, “I knew you could do it, man.” That was awesome.
Chuck Rules!
I love the part where Sarah is slamming Chuck up against the door and Awesome, Ellie and Morgan hear them and Awesome says,
“Make-up sex. Nice.”
Just some random thoughts:
The WB is pushing their own product during the offseason. But NBC is the one that will reap the benefits from their leg work. I just don’t see them putting another company’s show ahead of their own right now. I love Chuck it is without a doubt the most original show put forth by any network in several years. Most shows are not first season hits. This is the battle fans will fight next year for Chuck unless NBC wakes up to the gem they have. Yes, Chuck is in difficult time slot but if Chuck’s target audience is made up of males 18-45 and it starts after the olympics in March that places the show running April, May and part of June. This when most men are out doing whatever catching up from the weekend and work.
While I am happy Chuck was renewed I was disappointed it took so long.
One of my favorite parts about Chuck vs. the Helicopter is when Chuck flashes on what happened to Oceanic flight 815.
I’ll be there on the WB.
The best scene in the episode is the scene where the title comes from, when Chuck pilots the helicopter! Good stuff…And the dinner scene, which is chaotic hilarity.
thanks for your support, WB, and for your always-awesome site, chucktv.net! i’m set up on twitter and ready for the second round of #Chuckmemondays (are hash tags case-sensitive?). follow me @ChuckNut. happy Chuckmemonday and see you all tonight! 🙂
This is not my favourite episode has its less funny then the pilot, but I really love the dinner scene when Chuck tries to get rid of Sarah Souflé and its Casey who gives it the “coup de grace†by hitting the candle from under the table.
The other thing I loved is Sarah character having a “not sure you can trust / dangerous†feel. I would have loved to see this thread go on for more episodes before we kick into the romance/sweet Sarah. If they would have wait a bit on the romance maybe they would not had to stop/reverse there relationship so much later on.
Will get my subway on my way back from work and watch the episode early because I doing a World a Warcraft raid tonight at 7:30pm. (I am so geek :p) If I don’t go my wife will keep bothering me until I log… true story I am telling you, she plays more than me. I will still try to alt-tab and hit twitter a few times after 9 pm. ïŠ
The producers have always slipped in pop culture references to other shows/movies. Yes, there is the “Lost” reference in tonight’s episode. The line at the end of Season 2 (“Guys, I know Kung Fu.”) came from the Matrix. In fact, the whole room where the intersect computer was stored reminds you of the Matrix.
Best line of the show … when Ellie follows Chuck into the bathroom where he is putting out the souffle fire: “No matter how stressed you are, it’s never OK to murder a woman’s souffle.”
Haven’t seen it anywhere … has there been any data released on how much of a viewing bump was seen on wb.com last Monday for 1.01?
Working early sucks, ergo I’m watching Chuck v. Helicopter early.
I have to start off by saying that this is one of my least favorite episodes overall of season 1. It’s not a bad episode by any means, just not as good compared to the others.
Favorite Scene: The opening sequence, and realizing Chuck is chasing down Casey, whose chasing down a shoplifter. Hilarious. Casey and Sarah’s fight scene at the Wienerlicious is also great.
Best Music Moment: The New Pronographers “Challengers” sequence was very well-placed. It’s a somber sequence (Bryce’s funeral, Sarah and Chuck’s fight, foreshadowing Chuck’s fate once the Intersect is rebuilt) and the music fits well here.
Best Line: Casey, after dinner, “I don’t kid about quiche.”
Honorable Mention: Chuck (Both narrating and in the scene): “So now I have to save the country from terrorists” “NO CASEY!” “assassins…and shoplifters.” “CASEY CASEY! No no no no. It’s just a video game, lives are not in danger, and the country is still safe.”
Side Note: When Casey arrives at dinner, he says he’s moved in upstairs. Continuity issue? I think so.
the first who can chuck trust? the first and only… after this, sarah and casey’s loyalties and characters have become crystal clear (except for casey assasinating chuck — that becomes clear only much later)
favorite scene from helicopter: the casey-sarah fight scene!
do we need to write down our email addy on the message itself?
@GabbyD: No, as long as you include it in the email field, you’re good to go.
I agree with Operation Pineapple about the LOST reference.
It’s funny when “little buddy” tries to pull the LM tablecloth off and ruins the display but it’s funnier when Chuck tries to ruin the table setting but actually succeeds pulling off the tablecloth!
One favorite moment from 1.02 (at least for longevity sake) is Chuck getting reprimanded for leaving the car for the first time. He never listens to that request.
@BobH. Hits on thewb.com for Chuck were up 63% last Monday.
@Gambs. Is that website hits or # of streams of 1.01?
Us poor Canadians,
At least I already have Chuck Season 1 on DVD and since I don’t own a blue ray player or HD tv for that matter(hope to have in time for season 3), it wont be a huge loss.
I will watch tonight, but unfortunately have a meeting that is supposed to last until 9 PM – so might be a little late in joining in.
Who knows with any luck, the meeting might end early.
Good luck to all the US fans in winning the prize.
I would have to say, one of my favorite tidbits from this episode is during the testing. Chuck is spewing out all this info at breakneck speed and then the next picture pops up. He immediately relaxes and casually, “Okay, that’s just a turtle.”
A small moment, but I always laugh at Morgan’s enthusiastic, child-like “I do!” response to Chuck asking, “Who likes magic?”
Also, I remember when the episode first aired, the music completely cemented my love for the show. I love the New Pornographers and was thrilled to hear “Challengers.”
Some cool prizes this week! No reason not to join in! 🙂
Is the flash of Oceanic flight 815 a reference to “Lost” ? Cool !!
No comments yet until I watch the episode again, just trying to increase my chances of winning the prize…LOL
i am loosing my mnd i am loosing my mind. mooorgan not now 🙂
Golly! It’s an episode of CHUCK! What’s not to like? My favorite moment? I agree with whoever said it above; it’s Morgan not being able to do the ‘remove the table cloth’ trick when he wants to and Chuck being able to do it when he doesn’t want to. This just sets up the whole Bizarro Univers thing at the Buy More that has run through all 35 eps. As I said, What’s not to like?
I loved when they mentioned the Oceanic 815. Lost is one of my fav shows, and anytime I see a reference to it I get a little giddy.
Casey and his quiches.
And most definitely the “Morgan Door.”
The tablecloth trick – always impressive, and surprise! It worked – and then the souffle is the only thing ruined by the candle. Genius! Also: Casey making quiches. He’s so manly and they are so twee.
These food moments are in a tie with every video game nerd I have EVER KNOWN being sure they could land an airplane or helicopter thanks to all their video game experience.
They hadn’t quite nailed down the tone of the show yet but these moments in this episode were the turning point(s) that proved the show was going to be special.
I love the turtle line mentioned above and Casey’s “flambe” line after the souffle catches on fire.
4 minutes in and already a great line
Ellie – here’s one. I loathe you.
Chuck – that’s not a secret
oh this show is so much fun!
Great contest. “And that is how I do that!”
My favorite scene is Sarah talking Chuck through landing the helicopter. It’s already clear that she’s getting to know him well, and that she is starting to develop feelings for him!
The Lost reference is cool. I love it when Casey brings mini quiches.
I also love that the google ads for this page are for RC helicopters.
“I loathe you”
“That’s not a secret” 🙂
I had to watch the ep earlier today, as I am at work right now (2nd shift is no good sometimes). I was pretty happy when the Ellie/Morgan fireworks cooled down later in the season. It would have been difficult to warm up to Ellie if she continually sniped at Chuck’s best friend for the whole season.
My favorite scene is when Chuck gets into Casey’s SUV and a phone starts ringing. They both realize it’s not theirs, look at each other, look into the back seat, and then Chuck yells, “NSA incinerator! RUN!” and they jump out of the car. The BEST part of this scene was the pause, once they’re outside away from the car, where they look at each other like, “Wait, were we wrong?”, and THEN the car blows up 🙂
My favorite scene was when Sarah talks down Chuck in the helicopter!
I love the opening of this episode. The bait & switch with the shoplifter instead of evil spy stuff is hilarious. For some reason I always chuckle when you see Morgan at the Buy More eating leftovers.
My favorite scene is the bit where Casey randomly collapses in the Buy More, then pops up and says “Damn tranq”
“Our most valuable secrets have been sent to an idiot.” CLASSIC Gen Beckman comment to this day. “At least they weren’t sent to his friend,” comments CIA Director Langston Graham.
How can the world’s fate belong to a pair of idiots? That’s exactly why I watch.
They’r etoo dumb to know any better. They’re so clueless they miss the obvious. Their innocence betrays them in episode after episode, yet we can all relate to them because they’re fallible, likable and generally believable.
Where else can you get a super hot CIA agent, a stiff as a board NSA agent watchign over a pair of idiot s who think a great round of Call of Duty 4 is bragging material. They Pwn you from the very start.
Stahotski… she melts my snowboots.
The fight scene between Sarah and Casey!!
Sixteen seconds in. “…computer stealing ninjas…” Classic. Though I would expect better grammatical structure from a Stanford grad.
gotta love the begining with casey chasing the shoplifter.
Morgan: “This guys been here 24Hrs and he takes his job way seriusly than me!”
Chuck: “Thats because he’s crazy.”
Casey: “Tell me something I Dont know.”
chuck: and the price gun kinda works like a
casey: gun?
Dinner scene!
Chuck pulls out tablecloth hoping to take it all down and it all stays ‘cept a slightly rocking candle.
Morgan: “Dude I knew you could do it!”
Casey bumps the table and knocks the candle on the suflay
Casey: “Flombee”
LOL I’v seen this season countless times and I still laugh histaricly at all the jokes and nuances every time!
