Also love the complete deadpan:
“I’m the big potato?”
“You’re the big potato.”
I forgot how good this episode is, it’s hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time.
This episode has some great lines when everyone’s poisoned!
Words taste like peaches.
Casey, your jaw was chiseled by Michaelangelo himself.
Who’s there? The NSA, CIA, and me, who’s a little harder to explain!
And so many more…
Love Chuck’s spastic dance and Sarah looking so very professional.
“What you give me crap about lighting some candles and you come in wearing that”?
Then Ellie under the serum “What’s with the porno shorts”
Watching Chuck vs. the Truth always makes me want to eat a sandwich! So today I’m going to get me one. I just wish Subway had The Chuck Bartowski. Turkey, muenster cheese, egg…and grilled! Okay, I’m hungry now.
I agree this episode is awesome. One of my favorite parts was when Morgan was calling Chuck a “mind cheat” “saw you” that whole part was funny. I thought the talk between Chuck and Devon was fun but the best part is Sarah’s expression. Chuck was funny when Sarah said that “I think it’s time for us to make love.” To much more to metion about this episode.
I agree with Chris the new season can’t get here soon enough. I also agree with kelle about females taking notice of Yvonne’s every expression. You just feel what she is feeling even if she doesn’t say much. I really think Yvonne Strahovski is a great actress hope her the best for the future. Zachary Levi is also good with the emtionally expression too. All the cast is great they bring so much to the show also.
Now my favourite part – Team Bartowski under the Truth serum.
Chuck at least doesn’t have to work on his 5 year plan.
Yep Sarah’s the best lock pick and Casey’s jaw was chiselled by Michael Angelo himself.
I loved the contented look on Sarah’s face when Chuck told her she was so pretty.
After Sarah shoots Reardon, Casey: “very unsportsmanlike — I like it”.
Finaly
Tang barging into the theatre room. Tang and Casey were great in that scene.
Love the song they use at the end of the episode. Really felt bad for Sarah at the end though. When Chuck was leaning in it seemed like he was going to kiss her then does the “We need to break up” speech. Yvonne did a great job of showing the heartbreak in her facial expressions.
You know what – I can’t wait until next week to see Salami, I’m watching it now. Don’t worry, I’ll watch it again next week.
in my top 5 of all chuck episodes!
i think the most cleaver line comes from lou when she first meet sarah, she says to chuck: You should put that in the fridge. it’d be a shame for the Chuck to make ya sick.
love it!
So many good quotes. My favorite being Ellie’s “words taste like peaches” i love how she smacks her lips after saying it LOL
Alright so I’m looking down the list and seeing only five weeks of ChuckMe Mondays left on the WB site. Have we decided what happens with the early episodes of season 2 which aren’t available on WB or Hulu (yet)? Are we collectively switching to DVD/BluRay in September? When is the damn season 2 set being released anyway?
The dialogue kills in this episode. My favorite exchange being where chuck explaining how he’s going to fake taking the antidote and give it to his sister. I laugh at each line.
Mind Cheater, Funny Animal Shapes, Words Taste like peaches, AGAIN!!!!,Hot Coffee, …the lady Tang…too much too like!!!
This episode has EVERYTHIG: the partner relationship between Casey and Sara, the romantic relationship between Chuck and Sarah AND Ellie and Awesome, and the humor from the Buy More and the mission. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes.
Love this episode, it has the cleverest dialogue– like practically all chuck episodes:D Mind cheater!
Lol, Awesome and his porno shorts… he he he
I don’t know how I’m going to survive until next March, I need more Chuck!
Definitely one of the best Chuck’s ever for the one-liners. Also maybe the best job of integrating Chucks spy-life and real-life into the same plot-line.
New poll with Sarah as tough girl and Sarah and Chuck for best spies.

Some good quotes:
Morgan – “Mind cheater…saw you”
Morgan – “Her hair looked so much like licorice. I want to chew on it until I make myself sick.”
Sarah – “Chucks not wrong often.” Casey “But he’s annoying all the time.”
Why are my comments being deleted?!
Sorry, never mind my computers being wierd.
I miss Harry Tang! It would be awesome if they had him in s.3 somehow.
And Morgan will get his own licorice hair soon enough!
Classic ” Hot Coffee” and Chuck vs Lou & Sarah meeting at BuyMore. My favorite part When Chuck can’t figure out how to introduce Sarah to Lou. Wow, Sarah is jealous. She keeps smiling daggers at Lou. Another Footlong nite
One of my favorite episodes from season 1. Always wondered was Sarah just being profesional or did she do it on purpose because she saw that Chuck was attracted to Lou?
Tune into S3 to find out if Lou sells her shop to Subway. rofl Nah, as long as we get more Chuck, product integration won’t bother me.
This is an amazing episode and i love the part where ellie is under the influence of the poison and says a lot of hilarious truthful things. “Words taste like peaches.”
And i also think that yvonne strahovski is an amazing actress and i hope we get to see her in many more films. Does anyone know how or when we will be able to see her short film “Persons of Interest”?
Can’t wait for the new season of Chuck!
It’s my first post here, but I’ve been following along with Chuck Me Mondays since the beginning. I really enjoy the truth serum scenes in this episode, especially the Indiana Jones homage where the villain gets shot in the leg and lets loose a Wilhelm Scream in an analog to the famous Cairo swordsman scene in Raiders (and of course the great Ben Burtt). It is these great references that I really love about this show (besides the characters).
Thanks!
What, no security at the hospital when two people are running around with guns? And Chuck was with them? Just a little plot hole, but I honestly don’t care because I love the show.
vs the Truth is one of my favorite episodes, although my heart breaks for Sarah when Chuck breaks up with her. And I love The Eeels “Fresh Feeling”.
I always love me some chuck. Glad that it got renewed for another season. Fave part has to be the mind cheater dialog LOL
cant wait 4 s3!!! enjoying my shiny bluray s1 n the meantime….its sooo beyond awesome!!! 😀
Chuck vs. the Truth
I love how Sarah reveals that she had been trained to withstand the effects of the truth serum. It softened the heart wrench of seeing her tell Chuck that they weren’t going anywhere.
Yay for season 3! Too bad it’s so far off still! I love this week’s ep! Lou is adorable (though no way she should be w/ Chuck of course, I’m totally a Charah fan!!!)
I am equally annoyed and in love with this episode. I love the character of Lou- it is nice to see a non criminal or government agent character on the show. I could do with the random injection of a few more normal people. Not on a recurring basis, but every once in awhile would be fab.
My favorite line from this episode is definitely Morgan’s comment about Lou’s hair looking so much like licorice.
And one question, if Sarah was trained to withstand the truth serum, why wasn’t Casey?!
@BMack: My theory as to why Casey didn’t receive the same sort of training to resist effects of Sodium Pentothal has to do with their respective agencies; CIA is more of a covert intelligence-gathering enterprise where NSA is a black bag operation. Think of a paring knife and a cleaver; they’ll both cut but the former is for precision and the latter for big, messy jobs.
i didnt see this yesterday. i love this epesode.great Quotes
Morgan: Mind Cheater – Saw you!
Saraha: I got it. Casey: No i got it. Chuck: who’s better at it? Sarah: I am. Casey: She is, Damn Truth serum.
who’s there? Chuck: the NSA, CIA, and me who is a little harder to explain.
A tip for future reference.
I watched Sandworm and Alma Mater to get warmed up for the Truth and have this warning.
You don’t want to be eating your subway footlong when Morgan is doing the mystery crisper contest. You can really lose your appetite. LOL
ahhh man i fotgot to comment on this episode and its my favorite!!
i can definitively say that i have seen this episode the most (yes, more times then vs The Colonel and man have i watched that one out of existance)
god there were just soo many amazing parts to it!!
words taste like peaches..
For some reason this page didn’t show up on my computer until Wednesday morning! There really isn’t much left to add; you’ve all done a great job summing up the magic of Chuck vs. The Truth. Thanks to Mel & Liz for providing such a wonderful gathering place for all of us as we wait out the 200+ days until Season 3. I have to echo Eonwe though with the question when does S.2 come out on DVD/Blue Ray? Are they waiting for us to get closer to the end of S>1 on CHUCK ME MONDAY’s? Hey Mel & Liz, what do you know?
