Mission Chuck Me Out Is Here!

NBC just launched Mission Chuck Me Out, a new game where you complete missions and earn points to rise in the ranks. Login using your Facebook, Twitter or MySpace username, then share all things Chuck with your friends.

But wait, there’s more! The Chuck fan with the most points will win the Grand Prize – having his or her face appear in an episode during one of Chuck’s “flashes.” And each week the player who earned the most points will win a gift pack with a signed Season 2 DVD from Zachary Levi, a Chuck sweatshirt, and a Chuck messenger bag.

  1. how can i accept the terms and conditions in the site??

  2. Damn, i need a green card ASAP

OPEN ONLY TO PERMANENT, LEGAL U.S. RESIDENTS PHYSICALLY RESIDING IN THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES OR DC (EXCLUDING PUERTO RICO, THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS, GUAM, AND US MILITARY INSTALLATIONS IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES).

  3. Is anyone else a bit worried that this campaign could backfire a bit? I love watching Chuck and I think doing things to get the word out is terrific. I enjoy reading the forums here and quietly tracking the Twitter traffic on the show. But awarding prizes that encourage folks to flood the social sites with Chuck ads may be going too far. In the 24 hours or so since it was announced, Twitter has been flooded with similar ads for the show. It’s reaching the point where it’s almost Twitter spam (I hate using that word, but it almost fits). To me, someone who loves the show, it’s getting a bit annoying already. I think it’s going to force a lot of regular folks to unfollow or defriend people just to stop the over the top Chuck traffic. How does that help the show?

I know I may be in the minority on this one, but it makes me wonder if this was thought out all the way.

    • I get what you’re saying Mike, and can’t say that I disagree. As much as I’d love to win the grand prize, I’m practicing restraint in spamming Twitter and FB. On the flip side, you have to appreciate that NBC is trying new ways of both engaging current fans and reaching potential new fans.

  4. I have three strikes against me for this contest.
    1. I don’t do facebook
    2. The only time I use twitter is for Chuckme Mondays
    3. The biggest strike is I’m not a resident of the US.

So I guess this contest isn’t for me. However, I really hope it works and doesn’t backfire like Mike suggests.
At least I know I wont find it annoying, because I wont be visiting those sites.
I’m going to miss te last 2 Chuckme Mondays as well. I have Christmas functions to attend.
Don’t you just hate when real life gets in the way of Chuck?

  5. Woo, I was thinking the exact same thing Mike (and Mel). For some reason I had a feeling they would do something like that for the promotion hassel I guess I just hoped for more of a scavenger hunt.
Don’t get me wrong I love this social networking idea but I don’t exactly see the (fun) game component. I was actually hoping for something on the lines of what Colbert did as lead in to his one week IRAQ-show. They even got JJ Abrams to help with the hole puzzle arc … man we had fun with this one on the forums, it literary turned into a Internet scavenger hunt. So the idea would be to still get points for the hole social networking think but not so much as to get nutty about it and to give the big points to those who might be the fastest in the mission/scavenger hunt/puzzles etc. But hey maybe that is the plan and it hasn’t been put in motion yet, so what do I know.
Oh and Mirko and Gord, I do not only feel for you I feel with you. I know it sucks but there are surely legal reasons behind it.

So the only thing left for me to say is … 28 days and 54 min AWESOME!

  6. All of its bullshit, a prize is suppose to be free, but you have to pay for costs, fees and taxes. I was excited at first but i’d rather buy an autographed pic on ebay for 50 bucks.

    • From the Terms and Conditions: “All taxes and other expenses, costs, or fees associated with the acceptance and/or use of the Prizes are the sole responsibility of each Winner.”

This is normal legalese that you’ll find in the rules for almost every contest held in the United States. It simply means that the entity giving away the prizes is not responsible for covering taxes or additional expenses on the prize (for example, if you win a car, YOU are responsible for paying the taxes and registration fees, not the entity that gave you the car).
