Chuck vs the Podcast Featured in Toronto Star

File this under “too cool for (spy) school”: Chuck vs the Podcast and our producer/co-host Gray Jones are featured in today’s edition of the Toronto Star. In the interview, conducted a couple of weeks ago, Gray lays out our philosophy for the podcast:

For 13 months straight, the series has been voted the most popular TV-themed podcast on the website Podcast Alley, with as many as 70,000 listeners for an episode. Hosted along with Mel and Liz, the women behind the expansive and exhaustive Chucktv.net website, Jones says it is their approach that sets it apart.

“Most podcasts tend to focus around the episode of the series – you know, they’ll say what they liked or didn’t like or they’ll recap an episode and a preview of what they’ll do next week. For me, I watched the show, so I don’t need to hear what some other guy thinks….

“So I view the podcast like what my favourite part of buying a DVD from the store is: I love the special features. I want to go more in-depth into a show, so my approach from the beginning has been if we have nothing new to provide, like an interview with someone from the show, then I don’t want to have a podcast that week.”
