This week on Chuck we learn more about Shaw, Chuck goes on his first solo mission, Stone Cold Steve Austin stops by, and Kristin Kreuk’s Hannah arrives on the scene. Plus we get an homage to an Adam Baldwin movie from Casey. Good times! Here’s the official synopsis for “Chuck vs. First Class”, airing tonight at 8/7c on NBC:
CIA agent Daniel Shaw (guest star Brandon Routh) assigns Chuck to his first solo mission in Paris, ignoring Sarah and Casey’s wishes. During the flight to France, Chuck befriends Hannah (guest star Kristin Kreuk) and flashes on another passenger — the imposing Hugo Panzer (guest star “Stone Cold†Steve Austin). Meanwhile, Casey helps Morgan battle Jeff and Lester for control of the Buy More.

Chuck vs. First Class was such an awesome episode! I’ve already lost count how many times I watched it. We’re already up to episode 5 but each episode is better than the last. I can’t wait see what happens throughout the rest of the season! 🙂
There is a new Chuck fan because of this episode. A guy at work who is a wrestling fan watched the show because I told him Stone Cold Steve Austin was a guest.
The funny thing is I have been trying for almost a year to get him to watch it. I even offered to lone him my S1 DVD set. If he gets a blu ray player he can borrow my S2 set as well.
He came in on Tuesday morning and his first words were about watching Chuck and how much he loved it. He asked me all sorts of questions about the background of the characters. He also asked me if my offer to lend him my S1 DVD set was still open. Well I gave it to him today.
I find it amazing that someone who has never seen the show can watch an episode in the middle of S3, not know any of the background, and still love the show.
I hope there were more first time wrestling fan viewers on Monday night that felt the same way.
Sometimes I wonder if some of us fans have become so wrapped up in the show that we have become hypercritical of all things Chuck, and have lost sight of what makes Chuck so great.
By the way, I thought First Class was a good episode. I liked Operation Awesome more, but it was still good.
I still hate Shaw. But he does make for an interesting story and I think in the end we will look back at the character and realize that he added significantly to the evolution of Team Bartowski.
But I will still hate him.
This was a really fun episode! I miss seeing how concerned Sarah (and Casey) are for Chuck’s safety. To my surprise, I found myself actually liking the Hannah character, and I could sorta see how Chuck may be tempted. Of course, being in the Charah camp, I can see how the next couple of weeks will be tough… damn Olympics! 🙂

Chuck vs. 1st Class was an excellent episode. I can’t wait to see how Sarah/Shaw, Chuck/Hannah play out. The two week hiatus for the Winter Olympics is going to be brutal

Great Episode! Loved that Casey ended up help Morgan because he “hates insurgents”. Love Chuck, and I’m definitely NOT looking forward to the Olympic break!
The action scenes were great in this episode, and I liked how Chuck was finally able to flash, more or less reliably, when he had to. Perhaps it was not so much a matter of Sarah and Casey holding Chuck back, as it has been Chuck relying on them too much. When it was flash or die, Chuck flashed.
That being said, while I understand the necessity of Sarah’s absence on the mission, I still missed her. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of her in the weeks to come…

Although I may be a total shipper (of the correct couple) it was fun to see Chuck fighting by his lonesome.
This is probably the best and most creative show i’ve ever seen! i’m always looking forward to mondays to watch the latest episodes 😀 i’ve re-watched the seasons so many times! yeah, this show is that good. 🙂 CHUCK FOR LIFEE 😀 season 4(yn)
Had to wait till Wednesday to watch the episode, was worth the wait. Glad to see that the ratings are holding so hopefully we won’t have to hold another save Chuck rally later this spring. Go Chuck! but don’t forget Sarah

Does anyone else think that Chuck flashed too easily in that episode? (we’re probably supposed to believe it’s becuase Sarah wasn’t around but I still think it happened too quickly)
Anyway, the only negative comment I have about the first few episodes is that I don’t understand why there was no mention of the disappearance of Papa Bartowski after the wedding especially from Ellie who is unware of his alias.
I hope the ratings stay steady! I’m looking forward to a lot more Chuck.

I really enjoyed this episode of Chuck. I am especially interested how Chuck’s first successful solo mission will affect the interaction between Chuck, Sarah and Casey. Chuck is bound to gain some confidence from the mission and I’m curious whether this will lead to possibly more mistakes on Chuck’s part that Sarah and Casey will have to clean up. Or will Shaw’s decision lead to smoother for the trio? now foursome?
Sweet, I just found this site. Was a little concerned about Chuck getting all super-power-y, but it looks like the writers are keeping things interesting.
Chuck’s first solo mission was a great one! The guest stars were awesome and the flight attendant being part of the Ring was such a shock! I love this show and love this season so far. Go Chuck!

YAY! that Press Kit looks good! I liked this week show. Didn’t that plane looked to much comfortable and spacious with the bar area? It’s probably because I only fly coach! LOL.
I’m also interested in this Anna character and how it will mixed it up Chuck’s romantic life.
How amazing has Season 3 been?! The writers’ promised us that this season will be better than Season 2! Only 5 episodes into the season. Can’t wait to enjoy this S3 ride 🙂

Chuck v. First Class was awesome! It’s the first episode of the newest season that I’ve seen at least a dozen times 😀 I think it may be one of my favorites, actually.
What a brilliantly directed show! I decided to start watching the show last week and watched every episode in one week and I’m highly impressed. The cast is on their a-game and I’m glad I’m part of the audience! Can’t wait for more Chuck!
Though I’ve always dreamt of being Sydney Bristow, I know I’m much more of a Chuck Bartowski!
Show was AWESOME. Hannah was AWESOME. Hopefully she’ll get to see Chuck in some action too! It would be cool to see Chuck use 2.0 to unlock the secrets of being a real top notch spy. And come on, let Chuck use the nun-chucks to whip up on two spies at once!

I’m really enjoying season 3. Just finished a marathon of season 1 & 2.. finally caught up.. I’m hooked!
Been watching Chuck since season 1. I record the show every Monday on the DVR. I’m always coming back to watch it on Tuesday, and maybe even on Wednesday. I’m so hooked on this show!
I love this show. It’s made me look forward to Mondays now more then the weekends. This was a good episode, I liked Casey helping Morgan take control of the Buy More.
My son introduced me to Chuck after he heard about it at comic-con. I’m so glad he went to that convention and love this show. Yay Zac!

I love the episode. It’s Like Chuck took off his training wheels to ride solo. I’m glad Casey helped Morgan fend off Lester. That was cool Sarah knows how to Fly!!! I have to agree with Casey The coffin is not the best place to hide. Zachary Looked Cute with the Sward!
I have to say, at the beginning of season 3 with all of the changes on Chuck, I was getting a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my favorite show in the world quite the same way ever again. But my worries were quickly washed away as I realized how the writers, producers, directors and creators were able to incorporate Chuck’s changes that came with the new intersect with the tone of the show that we all know and love. Especially after watching Chuck vs. the Angel of Death, I realized that not only is Chuck the same old show, but the same old show, with upgrades (if that makes sense). Anyways, long live Chuck, my favorite show ever 🙂
Chuck is my favorit show! Its the first show that i can relate to. Not the hole spy part, but the hole part were he’s in his twenties, gone threw school but past events in his life have held him back. Not have i found this show fun to watch, but it was big factor in giving me the boost to get out of the hole / dead end life i was in and really go somewhere / make something of my self. Loving where season three is going so far, keep up the awesome work!
Having been hooked since the pilot, I gotta say Chuck is THE best show on tv right now. First Class was a wonderful episode and an excellent addition to this already amazing season. Hannah was adorable but she’s no Sarah Walker! and I absolutely loved the Casey/Morgan bonding! Hope this wins me a press kit 🙂
This episode was great; good to see Chuck being able to get things done himself.
If this continues, I wonder how it’ll effect Sarah-Casey’s role in the show.

Great episode again this week. Steve Austin was a welcome surprise. I wonder if Chuck will continue to rely on Casey and Sarah or if he can carry out a “solo” mission by his lonesome.
Isn’t it great not having to dread the start of the work week knowing that Chuck is on mondays.
Chuck is the greatest thing that has ever happened in this world. Pure escapism and joy during a really tough time. Thanks Chuck for quiting the surrounding noise every Monday.
Just wanted to make a quick post to make sure I qualified for the drawing/raffee/bribery for the press kit. I would think of nothing better for a gift for my birthday (1/30) than to win the random method of determination.
I love Chuck and his scenes on the plane in this episode were some of my favorite of this third season. I must say that Casey helping out Morgan was too funny and if we can’t see him in his spy mode I’ll take him any way the writers want – as long as we see him.

I know now that season 3 will be truly awesome.
If Chuck continue going this strong direction with season three; There will be a forth season.
Chuck is awesome in in all accounts: Acting, writing, stories and the fans. Thats why this is the number one show on TV at the moment.
