Chuck Returns With Ratings Increase

After a 3-week hiatus for the Olympics, Chuck returned last night with an uptick in both viewers and in the demo. Approximately 6.7 million people tuned in to “Chuck vs. the Fake Name”, and the episode pulled a 2.4 in the 18-49 demo, landing it in third place for the hour. That’s up from 6.6 million viewers and a 2.2 in the demo for the last new episode.

  1. That’s a relief. Hope those numbers stay strong or even improve as we go into the final stretch of the first 13 episodes.

  2. great news and a great episode

  3. Good news but I had hoped for a little higher bump with House showing a repeat. The new DWTS cast looks weak so I hope we can keep up those numbers.

  4. I am relieved too – I was nervous that the hoopla from 3 weeks ago and then a lay off was going to hurt us.

PS I loved last night’s episode

  5. I hope this show will remain on top and will see a lots of new episodes ahead because it s one of the best tv series in the world-GO CHUCK!!!

  6. I was predicting Chuck would finish with worse numbers after this week, than after E07.

    Happily, I was wrong.

  7. Yeah! Let’s hope the numbers keep increasing! Great episode 😀

  8. this show is becoming just like smallville. both heroes come out looking pathetic. good luck getting a third season.

    • I’d say a third season is guaranteed!! Especially since we’re smack dab in the middle of it!!

  9. That’s great news, and surprisingly I liked this episode. From what I had been hearing, I was expecting it to be really bad, but I was pleasently surpised. Not my all time favourite, but it was a good episode – at least for me.

By the way, Casey has lost a toe and a tooth to Chuck now, I’m worried as to what appendage will be next. Will he lose one every season?
Because in Season 10 there will be nothing left of him.

  10. @karma_2: Um, this IS the 3rd season! Try sticking with the show, we could use the extra viewer(s) and hey – you just might be surprised at how it all turns out!!

  11. If only NBC would promote the show; No new 30-second promo yet for ep.9 (Zach’s directoral debut), no capitalising on the controversy generated by “the Mask”. They promoted the bejeezuz out of it for the January comeback and since then nary a peep. What gives! The ratings could be great if only NBC knew what to do with this gem.

    • Didn’t you see the promo after the episode aired? Not the greatest, but it was there.

      • Hard to call that a promo. Sure, it was about next week’s show. Sure, it was 30 seconds long. But it really didn’t show much at all. Are all the possible scenes they could show that spoilerific that they couldn’t put any in the promo? Usually, NBC goes a little too far with stuff in the promos. For next week, they’re not revealing much at all.
