Everyone got what they wanted! Casey is reinstated, Morgan is a spy, Shaw is gone, and Chuck and Sarah have finally professed their love. How could that all have happened in one episode? Only at the hands of the best! Writer Chris Fedak, director Peter Lauer, editor Matt Barber, and a cast in full form all worked together to give us one of the best Chuck episodes yet.
In this podcast we discuss the ratings and renewal campaign efforts, important changes to our iTunes feed, and most importantly, “Chuck vs. the Other Guy”, the episode that originally was going to be the season 3 finale.
Up next: Mel’s coverage and videos from Wonder-Con!

Will we get to see how the advance screening of 3.13 went? Call me weird, but I enjoy seeing these reactions. Maybe it’s the sports fan in me, but I find them, for a lack of a better word, uplifting. =D Thanks!
You’re not alone. 🙂
Another great podcast. Looking forward to tomorrows update.
this is the first time watching a podcast. i have to say its pretty cool how you all anilise the episode well done.the one small thing i think you all missed in the pop culture department was on the bridge when a wounded shaw is hanging on to sarah, and than lets go.it reminded me of the titanic scene when jack lets go and falls.its not exactly the same and might not have been intended but the slow motion and similar type tune playing reminded me of it.
by the way i have a general question about the spoilers (not that i ever read them)do you guys at chucktv.net get to watch the episodes before the general public or do you just report what you know to be lagit?just wondering thats all.
cant wait for tomorows podcast should be intresting to see how wonder-con went.
Glad you found us, DT! Yes, that could have been a Titanic reference, although it’s been used many times by many movies/TV shows.
We were provided with the first five episodes of season 3 in advance, thanks to Warner Bros., but the rest we’ve seen when everyone else did. The spoilers we post are either from other legitimate sources (i.e. Ausiello at EW.com) or our own trusted sources.
Hi Mel,
I just finished watching the latest Podcast of Chuck and The Other Guy. Needless to say, I loved the episode and I agree that it seemed to cover pretty much everything everyone wanted without having the audience feel rushed. I do want to comment on one thing however, I felt that the kissing scenes between Sarah and Chuck were nice, but not as passionate as I would have thought. Since they have been separated by the writers for so long, I would have thought that given the opportunity, they would have almost eaten each other’s face off. Ha! In the last kissing scene on the bed, Chuck actually “puckered†for the kiss. That’s something you do when you kiss a relative, not the one you have been waiting for, for so long. As I said, I loved the episode, but I felt that the passion was missing. Maybe I’m just reading too much into this. Again, thanks for the Podcast……
I’m sooo excited for this podcast, but i can’t seem to find it on itunes yet
has it been uploaded there yet?
thanks heaps guys
loving your work
Hi,
you need the new iTunes feed — do a search for “Chuck vs the Podcast” in the iTunes store, and choose the one that does not say “(mp3)” or “(Enhanced AAC)” after the name.
Or you can use this link:

Hope this helps,
Gray.
This is my first time viewing the podcast as well, and I have to say great job!
I only started watching Chuck last month. After quickly getting caught up from the pilot, my wife and I watched the series in a marathon get get her caught up. We’re both hooked now. 🙂
One of the things I thought about after 3×13 was the parallel to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (of which I’m also a fan). The thing that made Buffy successful where other slayers failed was her team (the Scoobies); prior slayers were solitary.
Likewise, Chuck is somewhat unique as a spy in the building of Team Bartowski, and the support it provides him. While most spies in the show operate alone, or as part of a temporary assignment to an adhoc team, Chuck is part of an enduring (and growing) group that supports his unique abilities.
Anyway, thanks again for a an interesting podcast!
I like your Buffy analogy, Mace. You’re right, Chuck’s team is vital to his success.
I just realised that (after watching 3.13 twice) the kissing scene between sarah and chuck is not passionate or hot like previous season 1 & 2. Sarah kiss Bryce, Cole and Shaw is more hot. Is it possible that Zachery Levi and Yvonne does not have good relationship off screen?
I agree with you Bonds — I don’t think that the writers and/or directors scripted the kisses that way, but I would be more inclined to think that it is a product of Zachery’s and Yvonne’s off screen relationship. It is probably OK, but obviously not one that generates passion when they kiss. Sarah’s kisses with Bryce, Cole and Shaw were all much more passionate. Seasons 1 and 2 also had much hotter kissing scenes between Sarah and Chuck. Again Bonds, I think you might have hit the nail on the head with this one.
