Fred Willard is about to be everywhere on screen, including an upcoming episode of Chuck. In a new interview with The TV Addict, covering his guest spots on Chuck, Castle, and Modern Family, Willard spilled some details about his upcoming role in “Chuck vs. the Role Models” where he plays Mr. Turner, one half of a spy couple who have been together for a long time:
“It’s the kind of role I always wanted to do,†he admits. “Like Robert Wagner in HART TO HART. Swoosie Kurtz plays my wife, and we’re assigned to help out Chuck and Sarah. We’re suave, sophisticated and have been through it all. The first thing I do when I come into the apartment is ask for a special kind of martini. But Chuck and Sarah, who see their future in us, are kind of disappointed because they see we’ve got feet of clay!â€
Fred Willard guest stars alongside Swoosie Kurtz in episode 3.15, which airs Monday, May 3 at 8/7c on NBC.
Sounds interesting. Can’t wait!
yeah, it sound like Charadice (new name I found out in the NBC forum ) will I think see a picture of what they could be like down the road, and to find a way to make their own future and happiness together.
I don’t really understand the ‘feet of clay’ expression 😐
To have “Feet of Clay” means to have faults or shortcomings in one’s character.
It could also mean afraid to move, get out there do things, stuck in a rut,or turn into a couch potatoe. (boring life)
“Feet of Clay” > Old Testament Daniel 2:31-32
(BTW I’m about as religious as a bowling ball, but I do read lots.)
“Feet of Clay” simple version .. When your role model/hero ends up not being who you thought they were going to be..
Another example: You finally the meet the girl of your dream, super hot, super sexy, and when she was about to kiss you, You found out she had a deadly dragon breathe…great by standards but with hidden and notable flaws.
There are other meanings for it from the proverbs or even from a political standpoint. I tried to make it simple for you
Sarah has some experience as half of a spy couple, having been partnered with her previous love, Bryce Larkin. This, much like everything else in spy life, is new to Chuck. So I can see Chuck soaking up everything like a sponge, but I wonder what effect this mentoring by the “Role Models” will have on Sarah. That is what intrigues me most.
I think they will be rescued by Mporgan and Casey in the end of 3.14
This is what we should be seeing in the show, the dynamics of the heroes as a couple, and an episode of them being mentored by a much older spy couple sounds great.
I recon that by the episodes end the 2 elder spy couple will have broken up, which could be interesting for later episodes due to it increasing chuck and sarahs feelings of insecurity regarding the relationship
I don’t think any of the last 6 eps will end with a downer when it comes to Chuck and Sarah’s relationship, atleast not in regard to how they feel about each other and their future together.
Let’s hope not. They tortured us with enough darkness and anguish to last a lifetime throughout episodes 1-12 this season, finally giving us sunshine in ep.13.
@Wolfpack I think you’re right. I think the first four of the six will give us Classic Chuck
sunshine, fun and laughter is the name of the game. Then the last two will give a sense of urgency for the finale (that’s just me talking) We’ll see how it goes but that’s my 2 bits.
I have high hopes for 318 since it’s written by Ali Adler and Matt Miller (who wrote vs. The Colonel). Sounds like we will get some shipping before the finale 😉
Sorry for going OT.
@Wolfpack. No worries all good 😉
Solid episode–for some reason the tiger looked fantastic! What a beautiful animal! It appeared several good storylines were initiated and I really have been looking forward to C&S moving in together. I was particularly pleased that Morgan did not shoot himself or Casey–incidentally he was firing a great handgun. I was glad to hear Sarah’s comment concerning their life after being spies–had a sound of permancy in the relationship. I appreciated the low to no angst level and am looking forward to our next episode—let’s get a season 4!!!!!
