Rejoice, Chuck fans – according to Deadline Hollywood (a reliable enough source that we’re ready to post this article we’ve had ready since February), NBC has seen the light and renewed Chuck for a fourth season!
Update 8:45PM: Ausiello is giving a (qualified) confirmation.
Update 8:55PM: Ausiello says the renewal is for 13 episodes to start with, option to pick up the back 9.
Update 9:10PM: The Live Feed is now confirming the renewal for season 4. THR also confirms that ABC has picked up V for another season, currently helmed by former Chuck producer Scott Rosenbaum.
Update 05.14.10: Josh Schwartz let the masses know via Twitter that he got the official call from NBC this morning.
Update 05.14.10: NBC’s official press release announcing the return of Chuck! Timeslot/episode order not yet revealed.
Update 05.16.10: The Live Feed crashed NBC’s tech rehearsal and got the scoop on the network’s schedule to be announced later today. At this point, Chuck is set to return this fall, Mondays at 8/7c, followed by new series The Event and Chase. NBC is touting Mondays as “action-adventure night”.
Update 05.16.10: NBC confirms the schedule noted above: Chuck returns Mondays at 8/7c this fall!
Update 07.15.10: NBC just released their fall premiere dates, and contrary to previous rumors, Chuck season 4 is confirmed to debut on Monday, September 20 at 8/7c. See you there!

Good job guys! This is exactly what I needed to get through these last three episodes. Just thinking about Chuck getting canceled was awful. I’m so not kidding.(: I did every little thing I could to get this season, and it worked! How many of you did everything in your power? Or did you just let it go and flow?
As far as a question goes, what exactly are you looking forward to in the fourth season? Any specific character? What about romances? Let me know, I am EXTREMELY interested.(: As for me, I am especially looking forward to all of the fun comedy scenes that Yvonne will hopefully get to do, and basically anything with Sarah Walker in the mix. She is my favourite character of all time, after all. Hah.

I decided to get online before going to bed tonight, & had do a double-take to make sure of what I was reading…CHUCK status: RENEWED. Wow, this is the news I have been waiting to hear! I agree with all the posters who said that this news will make the upcoming episodes more enjoyable (I remember watching the season finale last year with some anxiety that the show might not return).

A week later, we will watch the two hour season finale.
After that, we will begin planning how to help promote Season 4 and get even more viewers to the show to guarantee a Back Nine pick up, and Season 5.

Best news I’ve heard all week. Thanks to Chuck fans and ChuckTV for rallying to save the show and to NBC for making the right decision! Fans in the UK are celebrating this weekend. We need to think of ways to help get the back 9 picked up as early as possible. 🙂
This comment may be skirting the edge of off-topic (and if it is, I sincerely apologize), but my intention with it is to, in addition to express my own happiness over Chuck’s renewal, respond to Mel’s above question about whether this is the first time a show previously saved by a fan campaign was saved a second time. I believe, Mel, that the answer may be yes.
The only show I’m aware of which faced a similar situation (but was canceled) was another well-loved television show which also, coincidentally, aired on NBC–the original Star Trek.
Star Trek had been brought back for a third season after fans led a truly massive campaign of letter writing (and protesting outside NBC offices in New York and Burbank). They tried again to save it at the end of the third season, but were unfortunately unsuccessful.
Granted, it was obviously a vastly different world four decades ago, with no Internet–among other things–at fans’ disposal (though one might argue that bags of letters mailed to NBC and protesters outside Rockefeller Center and NBC’s Burbank studios would carry at least as much weight as modern Internet polls, if not more so). However, I can’t escape one thought:
We, the fans of Chuck, have been able to accomplish what not even fans of the original Star Trek–wonderful and dedicated a group as they were–could. This really is one of the most dedicated groups of fans a TV show has ever had.
To borrow a line from a certain other show Adam Baldwin was on,

I’ve actually gotten to the point where I’m just sort of replaying DVR’d episodes because the rest of TV is so poor. The music, the editing, the crisp writing- everything about this show is just so well done. I’m truly impressed by NBC’s accumen.
So Chuck wins once again, and it’s largely down to us Chuck fans!
