Rejoice, Chuck fans – according to Deadline Hollywood (a reliable enough source that we’re ready to post this article we’ve had ready since February), NBC has seen the light and renewed Chuck for a fourth season!
Update 8:45PM: Ausiello is giving a (qualified) confirmation.
Update 8:55PM: Ausiello says the renewal is for 13 episodes to start with, option to pick up the back 9.
Update 9:10PM: The Live Feed is now confirming the renewal for season 4. THR also confirms that ABC has picked up V for another season, currently helmed by former Chuck producer Scott Rosenbaum.
Update 05.14.10: Josh Schwartz let the masses know via Twitter that he got the official call from NBC this morning.
Update 05.14.10: NBC’s official press release announcing the return of Chuck! Timeslot/episode order not yet revealed.
Update 05.16.10: The Live Feed crashed NBC’s tech rehearsal and got the scoop on the network’s schedule to be announced later today. At this point, Chuck is set to return this fall, Mondays at 8/7c, followed by new series The Event and Chase. NBC is touting Mondays as “action-adventure night”.
Update 05.16.10: NBC confirms the schedule noted above: Chuck returns Mondays at 8/7c this fall!
Update 07.15.10: NBC just released their fall premiere dates, and contrary to previous rumors, Chuck season 4 is confirmed to debut on Monday, September 20 at 8/7c. See you there!

Awesome news!!! I’m so excited and happy and every other good emotion! 🙂 If it’s coming back in the fall, doesn’t that mean that they have to start shooting again soon? If I remember right, when they started to shoot for this season they started a few weeks after ComicCon. I sure hope they all got their rest cause if they have to start soon, they are going to need it!
AWESOME! But truly speaking, I never really worried that the show could be cancelled because this would have been absurd. So deep inside I knew that it was already renewed.
I personally think we can make even more than seven seasons.

I’ve read several articles lately that suggest that NBC made its decision based on the amount of fan involvement on the Internet, Twitter and Facebook and how this may be the future of television advertising. They just don’t specify if it’s for 13 episodes or more and if Chuck will be in the automn schedule, but I guess we’ll know about all this on sunday!

Most common speculation is a fall launch back on Monday nights.
While I am thrilled beyond words for the announcement, I did see one bit of concerning news. Ali Adler (our favorite writer and producer) is leaving the show for another opportunity. Combine that with Scott Rosenbaum and Matt Miller leaving this year, and that’s a lot of creative talent going elsewhere.
Hopefully, Schwartz and Fedak will be able to fill the vacancies with other talented writers like Judkins and LeFranc.

This is awesome! My birthday is comin’ up (it’s in May), & all I’ve been able to think about for a birthday gift is the hope that Chuck would get renewed for a 4th season. Looks like I got my birthday wish. This ‘Chuck’ news makes me very happy. 🙂

i just read the oficial note from nbc and blows my mind!
always worry about the ratings by each episode, but i never thought about the averaging of the season.
this definilly helps in the end and its great!

I’m happy that Chuck has been renewed for a fourth season. But the question I have, is what is going to happen to Sarah. From what I understand Chuck will be coming back sometime in the fall. And Yvonne Strahovski is out of the country filming a moive. So what is going to happen?
Production on season 4 won’t begin until late July/early August at the soonest. Yvonne should be finished filming her movie by mid-to-late-June.

Great news. Now we can relax and watch the remaining three episodes of this season knowing that the show will be back next season. Let’s hope that the show is part of the fall schedule and (ultimately) gets a full 22-episode season. I have really enjoyed the story path during the past several episodes and I hope that the show continues to develop in this way.
