SPOILERS: The Ring Targets…

In this week’s Spoiler Chat, E!’s Kristin Dos Santos has a little scoop for the Chuck season finale:

Joyce in Huntington Beach, Calif.: I’m so happy Chuck got another season! What’s ahead?
If you thought The Ring was evil before, things are about to get totally out of control when they  target Casey’s daughter again—yep, the one we briefly met a few weeks ago. And once the evil agents discover what Chuck’s capable of, it’s his supersmart daddio to the rescue.

Is Casey going to turn from Sugar Bear to Papa Bear? And just how is “daddio” going to come to the rescue? So many questions! The two-episode season finale airs Monday, May 24 at 8/7c on NBC.

  1. ok,nice. this is gonna be freaking amazingly awesome

  2. I have a very bad feeling that they are going to kill Sarah off in the finale. Yvonne hasn’t been at any of the promotional events at all. She is also being cast in a bunch of films. The rest of the cast hasn’t been cast in movies or other projects. I don’t believe that Yvonne is the only actor on the show who has options for other projects. Unless she has the best agent in the history of all agents. I really hope I am wrong.

    • Also, They really put the idea in my mind with Sarah giving Chuck her Spy Will and Testament. Usually they don’t do something that significant without carrying through on it. It goes back to what Adam Baldwin said at Wondercon about the scenes with Casey’s daughter. Something that significant is never just left alone. Though the loss of Sarah would, I think be even more shattering for Chuck then the loss of Evelyn was for Shaw. I think that they would do something with her sacrificing herself to save Chuck.

      • You’re wrong.

Yvonne’s already said in an interview from Australia that she expects to shoot “Chuck” S4 right after “Killer Elite”. Do you think she’d mention it if she knew she was killed off at the end of S3?

Or are you thinking her S4 contribution is a large collection of flashbacks? 😉

      • I think it’ll be Sarah. I dunno how they going to pull it off but they will revive her character in S4.

      • That’s something to look forward to. Right?

      • your wrong…. its clearly chucks father as it says that he comes to the rescue, if sarah left i think it would be a big mistake.

      • charahlover101

I don’t think that that’s possible… Remember a few weeks ago, Mel said Sarah would survive the sf. IDK, but I think she has to live. No sarah, no show, in my world

      • Aardvark7734: Do you have the link to this interview you speak off? I really hope your right.

      • I think its Sarah too.. She is going to die in the season finale. Then just like Bryce, Shaw, and Vincent, she will come back alive and well in season 4
Just for the record… Any fake death or real death regarding Sarah Walker is the end of Chuck forme.

      • They can do little things like scare you and introduce spy wills, but if Sarah is truly killed then it is Game Over.

    • Sorry, but I can’t imagine where you would get an idea like that. Killing Sarah is tantamount to ending Chuck …….. not something anyone would do after finally getting a hard-fought fourth season.

    • The whole main cast have six year contracts with the show,

So I don’t see them killing off the major characters

    • Idont think they would kill off sarah beacause she is one of the main characters of the show they would lose alot of there fan base with a move like that ……but just my opinion

      • Perhaps Caseys’ baby momma is killed off giving him custody of his daughter potentially setting up a love interest for Morgan but it will more than likely be papa bartowski who dies perhaps by mama bartowski?

  3. It is impossible that the personage of Sarah is absent because without her the series does not make sense and it would fail. The central prominent figures of the series are Chuck and Sarah and more still now that are and they will be equal as Fedak commented in an interview of a few months ago.

    • I agree… Sarah’s death means also the death of the show.
I don’t think the writers took this road!

    • Also there Zachary Levi said somewhere that there is no show without Sarah and Casey.

  4. Can’t wait to see Casey and Alex interact. if any harm comes to the girl you can be sure Casey would be like a mother bear robbed of her cub. And that would be the biggest mistake anyone could make against him. I liked in the promo that young Alex can throw a punch just like her daddy, speaking of daddy, I live for the moment when she calls him that…I hope she does. Can’t wait. 🙂

  5. I don’t think anyone is going to be killed off. Granted they said that before, but Bryce and Shaw were ‘killed’ yet not really. IMO I think this is what’s going to happen here. If anyone is going to be killed off it’ll probably be Shaw (for good) or they can make it look as if someone was killed and leave the audience wondering “did he/she live? did they die?” type of deal and leave the answer for S4. Wouldn’t be the first time writers did this.

Remember, they also said that in ep.13 someone would die and we were made to believe that Shaw died. Being a John Carpenter and Halloween fan kinda knew this was going to happen. A body falling into the river and not being recovered is kind of a give away. 😉

    • Two things:
      1. How did shaw get an intersect? Did I miss something ?
      2. The new promo is amazing. Especially the end!

      • 1. If you saw ep 17 you wouldn’t ask that
cause they shown it at the end, when chuck was writting his testament
comming to the point, that if Sarah dies, just because she gave her testament to chuck, than it is possible that chuck dies, too, he also did write his testament (It is not going to happend, there is noch chuck without chuck ^^ I just wanted to show, that the fact that Sarah gave her testament to chuck can be totaly insignificant)

      • I think the point of Sarah giving Chuck her “spy will” is to balance and counterpoint the earlier scene that exposed the details of her relationship with Shaw. She love and trusts Chuck so much that she wants him to have the most intimate details of her life and who she is. She NEVER gave that to Shaw, even if they were physically intimate when they were dating.

      • If you recall from the scene at the cafe, The Director gave the Intersect Intel from Shaw to one of his operatives before Casey captured him.

Another explanation is that Shaw had it all the time and either gave The Director fake intel or merely a copy.

      • Ok, thanks kg. I saw the scene where he downloaded it, but I bkanked out on how he got it.

      • They also mentioned that the Ring’s Intersect had some severe flaws, so perhaps Shaw’s going to malfunction and maybe die for real this time around.

  6. I predict more thorough pulse checking in Season 4.

  7. There is no way they would kill off Sarah when they wrote the episodes before they knew they had a season 4. The writers aren’t stupid.

  8. From what Ive seen from the preview this morning somebody dies. But I don’t think its Sarah or Casey, it has to be the father and it looks like someone dies in a ring building with White rooms. Shaw kidnaps Sarah again and plants bombs in the Buymore. Shaw and Chuck have a final battle and the Buymore explodes with Chuck & Shaw still inside or so it appears. I think the person who died was either Ellie or Papa B. Both are seen in the rings head quarters. With Chuck his Jacket jacket on. Im leaning more toward Papa B, because there can only be one intersect, so Papa B and Shaw both have to go.

    • well shaw dying is a given (hope chuck kills him this time but it wil probibly be sarah) but i think that chuck has to choose between saving sarah and his dad and he chooses to save sarah……just a guess

      • Well I hope it would turn out like that

      • Well considering that Sarah is standing behind Chuck when Orion says he has to choose, I’m thinking that it might be Morgan and Ellie he has to choose between.

      • Ya but sometimes they mix up the previews to confuse ppl ….just thinking out loud lol

  9. From the preview of the season finale, it looks almost as though the show runners wanted to end the season at a point that if Chuck didn’t get picked up for season 4 it could serve as a series finale. It seems as though the finale gives fans everything they’ve been wanting. We’ve already been given Chuck and Sarah in a real relationship. Casey reveals himself to his daughter. Ellie appartently finds out about Chuck’s secret life. And we get to see Chuck go one-on-one with another intersect agent, who just happens to be Shaw. And alot of people believe we will learn more about Chuck and Ellie’s mom. I’m gonna guess by the end of the episode Shaw will definately be dead. I am also guessing that there will be someking of cliffhanger as to whether or not Chuck and/or Sarah are dead.

    • Agreed. I think they are saving Chuck’s mom for S4 and hopefully, the final S5.

As for a death, it be tragic to kill off Sarah (they’d be killing me off as a viewer). Got to think for the long-term benefit of the show, they’d get rid of PapaB and maybe some of the BuyMore crew plus have a cliffhanger with the main characters. The only left to know the secret is Ellie and she knows after this, so there is no reason to keep the BuyMore cover. My guess is that the show will go a more Alias route with lots of travel.

Wonder if they got a better budget for next year or making budget space by getting rid of Buy More stuff (set, cast, etc).

    • I was thinking when the buymore blows up chuck is still inside (or at least sarah thinks he is) …..again just a guess

  10. guys don’t worry Sarah is not dieing. i brought up this topic 2 months back and Mel said Sarah is not dieing.anyway i never expected to see wasted B.R good for nothing so called Shaw character again……he’s appearance just makes whole thing a crazy cartoon……if something not wrong with my eyes i clearly saw couple of bullets piercing Shaw’s chest, and now he’s back…..hahah unbelievable…this type of unrealistic storyline will take our attention away from the show …no doubt who ever the character that dies in the final episode will make a soon appearance in season 4.

  11. salvador hernandez

They are not gonna kill Sarah because in one of the comics it shows that they are married with two kids and Chuck is a full fledge spy. My bet is either Shaw or Papa Bartowski since the death will have a great impact on Chuck.

    • i have one question about the comics the people that create the chuck’comics are they same people the show

    • the chuck comics are written from chucks point of view as if he is writing them… therefore he only thinks (and dreams) that that sort of thing would happen

  12. salvador hernandez

  13. Hmm,I am wondering if we going to find something about the identity of the ring leaders (President and etc.)I haven t seen them a long time now.

  14. From the previews, it looks like this will be an incredible season finale. My thoughts and guesses as to what will happen are all over the place. I’m just praying that all the good guys survive, but with one of the spoilers I read a while back that Chuck will suffer a huge emotional loss, I’m not so sure.

I really hope that NBC will promote the finale this week during primetime so that everyone will remember to tune in! (Still wondering why there was no preview after last night’s episode).

  15. However this finale ends; I’ve got a bad feeling its going to tick off alot of viewers. As an episode (two actually) the finale seems to shaping up to be awesome, with alot of action and story developement going on in it. Ellie finding out Chucks secret would be huge but also detrimently to the show. She is the last of Chucks inner cirle to learn his secret. Ellie is the only one left that can be used to create the ironic jokes about Chuck being a loser with no motivation or direction, when in reality he’s saving the world on a weekly basis.

If Chuck, Casey, Sarah, Awesome, or Ellie die during the episode, I believe there will be a fan revolt big enough to make Chuck vs. The Mask look like a fan favorite.

They apparently blow up the Buymore, but they’ll have to rebuild it for next season. To many of the fun moments of the show were related to the Buymore and had nothing to do with spying at all. They can’t let that go.

So here’s my prediction. At least one of the five major characters will die, Ellie will find out Chucks secret, and the Buymore will be no more. Unfortunatley, the show runners are going to pull the old dream sequence story line out of their bag to reset everything for next season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t reset everything back to before Shaw arrive in the first place, before Morgan finds out, and definately before Chuck and Sarah got together. That way next season start out on a fresh slate and we can return to the old questions of when will Morgan/Ellie find out and when will Chuck/Sarah get together?

    • You’re good! But whatever happens I’m still a fan of the show.

    • Thats pretty good. Then the last 2 minutes would be Chuck waking up from his dreams and we will back in the beginning of The final exam when Sarah shows up to tell him of his mission. That would be the boldest RESET ever.

      • With Chuck waking up to watching Dallas on TV and seeing Patrick Duffy being discovered in the shower…. lol.

  16. Btw,I think sarah looks better with kinky hair(like in season 2 🙂 ) then with straight but she is beautiful anyhow 🙂

  17. All i know is monday needs to hurry up and get here because the season finale looks AWESOME

  18. There is no way that reset thing happens, because it would be the single STUPIDEST thing a TV show has ever done.

    • Are your forgetting when Dallas did it with Bobby Ewings death at the end of the 1985 season. The following season finale ended with his wife waking up and finding him in the shower thus eliminating the entire season 8’s storyline and reseting it to end of season 7. Its been done before. Heck St. Elsewhere’s entire 6 year run ended up being the daydream of an autistic kid looking at a snowglobe. The entire 8 year run of the Newhart show ended up be a dream of Robert Hartley, the main character(also played by Bob Newhart) from the Bob Newhart Show.

So its been done before and eliminating a single season or half-season wouldn’t be quite as bad as eliminating an entire show with a dream sequence.

  19. Pretty sure Papa B will die. He’s become somewhat of a major character as a recurring guest star. And…yeah…he’s a guest star. Easy to kill him off Emmett style.

Sarah and Casey aren’t killable. They can be shot, stabbed, get caught in explosions, etc…but they can’t die. They can be hospitalized and maybe even permanently injured, but not killed. They’re vital to the show.

Morgan, Ellie, Devon, and maybe Jeffster…likely not killable either. They’re key to the scenes that don’t revolve around the spy world.

But, I have a strangely bad feeling about the finale though too. Like…Sarah’s going to feel something again when she sees Shaw again. Pity or something. Maybe even still care for him. Try to steer him back away from the Ring. I dunno.

Also had a dream (nightmare) that Shaw would end up being Chuck’s brother. Raised by his mother. Like a Lion King Mufasa/Scar parallel. I dunno. Bad, terrible dream. Need to get Chuck outta my subconsciousness.

  20. I think or maybe they make like season three never happen we are still at the wedding chuck and sarah are still dancing we tell him everything she want to

  21. I hate to say it, but after watching the promo for the finale one thought keeps running through my head:

Could they be killing off Morgan?

I mean he may been around the edges of Chuck’s missions but it seems like he’s never really realised just how dangerous this stuff can get. That being the case, I could see him throwing himself into a situation where he tries to save the day and ends up dead because of it.

Also in the promo there is a brief shot of Morgan lying on his side, hands tied behind him and talking into a mobile phone, and a different shot of a timer with three seconds left on it. Maybe saying his last goodbyes?

And earlier in the season, Chuck told Shaw flat out that he needed Morgan around for him to work properly. What better way to push Chuck over the edge?

    There’s a big part of me that hopes I’m wrong, but… I just don’t know. 🙁

    • Wow i wasnt even thinking about that very good point ….crossing fingers that it doesnt happen

  22. I’m not even entertaining the notion that they are going to kill Sarah. I just don’t see that happening. After the out cry over the the “Mask” episode, I highly doubt the writers said, “You know what? Let’s really start a potential season 4 in a ratings abyss.” On a side note if I ever get shot I want a Fulcrum or Ring doctor to patch me up. These guys can work some miracles. And I mean no disrespect to any who thinks they are going to kill Sarah. I just think you may ruin your weekend leading up to the finale thinking about it.

  23. Well if I had my guess after reading everyone’s comment, poppa B would be the main character to die because he has his own show and the only reason they were able to get him is how long the shoot season was. If he dies then maybe we will get to see momma B at the funeral and maybe introduce her. This is going to be a FREAKIN’ GREAT FINALLY and blow away season 2 finally.

  24. What means “daddio”????

  25. just want to know how shaw lived if he got just like four times at the chest…i think somebody like morgan or orion will die in finale.

  26. I keep having the oddest notion that they’re going to play the “fake death” card. In the above statement, Joyce says: “Once the evil agents discover what Chuck’s capable of…”. It could possibly mean they finally figure out that Chuck is the real Intersect and then perhaps make it look like he dies in the Buymore explosion (or what-have-you) so they can whisk him away to an underground facility. It would’ve been one hell of a series finale if ‘Chuck’ hadn’t been renewed, and it now opens the show up for so many stories in season 4.

Whatever happens, I’m sticking with the show through thick and thin. It never fails to entertain me. 🙂

    • That would be a major cliff hanger

    • I agree, I don’t think anyone is actually going to die. The fake death card is something I have always thought the writers would do. Not like it hasn’t been done before. Maybe the Ring will make it seem like they killed Ellie so that Chuck is not able to react, since his emotions are his weakness.

I also agree that there are going to be fans who have problems with how the show is going to go, but like I keep trying to tell people, “It’s just a show. Have fun with it.” I refuse to analyze everything to death.

Sit back and enjoy people, this roller coaster is about to get seriously wild!

  27. I hope the hell that the writers don’t break up CHARAH. It took them 3 dang years to get them together. I am sure if they do they my lose lots of fans. Of course ratings will even suffer more and the show will only have 13 shows, instead of 22 shows. I hope they do what is right. Plus I hope ***SHAW*** is dead and gone for good. RUN him over with a Nerd Herder car several times. He was a poor addition to the show.

  28. That governer that Papa made, Chuck will get one (or Papa’s), Shaw does not have one, Shaw he will fry his brain out in the final scene I believe!
