re Mary McDonnell – As I’m not a Battlestar Galactica fan, my PoV on her is Sneakers, with Robert Redford, where she really does the serious and the comedy and the dry wit and playing off her colleagues. She would be an awesome Mama Bartowski.
I agree with Mary McDonnell, but there is also Linda Carter, Lena Olin, Diana Rigg And also the actress who played Graza on Farscape
I had to look it up but the character of graza was played by Rebecca Rigg

Loved the podcasts this week – all three of them. A few Qs & remarks relating to 3.18&3.19 and Season 4.
What happened to PapaB’s body? If the Ring has the corpse could they not bio-resurrect Papa B and try to torture info out of him, or turn him to the “dark side”?
What if the Ring took the governor off of PapaB’s body and reverse engineered one of their own from it…
Y’all spoke of bringing all the Bartowski clan into the mix – Devon, Morgan, Ellie – Don’t forget General Beckman. She, for so long, was unconvinced of the merit of Chuck and was always quick to suspend or cancel his program. Now, at last, she must be totally on board with his value.
Finally, what if Chuck “inherits” the old Bartowski house in Papa B’s will and he and Sarah marry and move there – M/M Black style…It becomes the new Castle and they operate out of their “home” business, so to speak. Maybe family Coburn should move into the neighborhood, too. 🙂
Season four holds so much potential for great stories and developments. I love it!!
I was wondering about Papa B’s body too. He literally died right in front of a cell rejuvenating place. I was so convinced that Chuck would save him or he would save himself, like at the very end when there was a knock on the door, I was a little disapointed it was Alex because I so wanted it to be Papa B.

My bet is on Mary McDonnell. She’s the whole package. She’s been playing kick ass characters for decades.
I thought the finale was awesome—also really opened up some great potential storylines. I do not want to go through another break up with Sarah-that is old, lame, angst generating and takes up too much time from the adventure and comedy-Chuck needs help in carrying out his fathers expectations and Sarah, along with Ellie and others need to be envolved, not for Chuck to just be successful on missions but to survive. Will he go back to the CIA and carry out dual missions in order to keep his activities legal and maintain a CIA resource base–Chuck’s Dad said the evildoers will be coming after Ellie as well as Chuck-how can she protect herself if she does not know she may be pursued? If Casey remains with the CIA how does he fit into this puzzle? Sarah needs to know asap if she is going to have an understanding of what is motivating Chuck. Chuck should not become a semi-hermit like his Dad. The opportunities to make the show even more special or to turn it into a negative, series ending mess are out there, from their record, F&S could go either way.
It was great to see your enthusiasm for the finale. Thanks for the great podcasts.
The finale was the most awesomest thing ever!!! And not just on TV. And the podcast was also pretty great.
But I wanted to ask you how you didn’t mention that Morgan is more awesome than Chuck. In the Suburbs episode Chuck was in handcuffs at one point and Casey told him that he needed to break his thumbs, but he couldn’t do it. Casey himself broke his thumbs later that episode. Morgan followed his example after a couple of moths of “spying”, while Chuck couldn’t do it after 1,5 years. It kind of seems to me that with more training, Morgan might become the spy Casey is, doing everything that’s necessary to accomplish the mission.
In my opinion, this also shows that Casey wasn’t warning Morgan, he was just telling him what needed to be done.
That’s it for my rant.

I can easily see Morgan going on missions as the third man with Casey and Sarah at the beginning of next season and Chuck feeling left out and left behind – out of the inner loop. That could be very funny.
I think its part of their characters. Chuck is smart, he figured a way out of breaking his thumbs. Morgan has balls, and just did it. But since the beginning Morgan got put into the spy world and became a spy much faster then chuck did. For example: morgan got his training three years faster then chuck did. So now he can do what chuck couldn’t years before.

I’m still trying to figure out the whole intersect reboot thing… did Chuck reboot because he suddenly remembered that he had “uploaded” the intersect when he was 7 or was it like automatic or something… I dunno, I just felt like it wasn’t explained all that good besides being “He’s special” scenario.
I think Mary McDonnell would be absolutely PERFECT at Chuck’s mom.. she’s an awesome actress and she’s got some great “dry comedy” that would mix in very well. CROSSING FINGERS!

The 3rd Star Wars reference that Gray could not remember is when Morgan was telling Ellie about Chucks spy life and she talked about John Casey being a rouge agent, Morgan tells her ” John Casey go to the dark side”, Keep up the good work and thanks for everything you all do.

So I don’t think that Casey telling Morgan to break his thumbs was to get back at him for having his daughters phone number but rather something that he tells everyone to do. And Morgan just happened to do it.
I think this shows that Morgan will do anything. . .yes I mean anything to make sure that his friends are safe. (Morgan vs. The Tiger, Morgan vs. The Thumbs. . .) What will it be next? = )
