It feels like I’ve written this article before… Merritt Yohnka, Stunt Coordinator for Chuck, has earned his third consecutive Emmy nomination! The nod this year is for his work in episode 3.10, “Chuck vs. the Tic Tac”, which saw all of Team Bartowski getting physical.
Can Merritt make it a three-peat? The Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will air live coast-to-coast on NBC, Sunday, August 29 at 8/7c.
Awesome that a comedy show like Chuck (even if it’s actually such a genre-mix) gets nominated for its stunts! 🙂
The Emmy for “Outstanding Stunt Coordination” will be given out during the Creative Arts Emmys on August 21st.
I guess this makes sence. Chuck is not a comedy nor is it a Drama series, it is an action show. Emmy’s only catigory for action is stunt coordination. Action shows like Bonanza have been around for decades but the people at the emmys have not figured that out yet. NBC has 3 new action shows coming out this fall, Event Chase and undercover, CBS with the new Hawaii 50, but did you notice the two highest rated scripted tv shows NCIS & NCIS LA were also snubbed, oops they were action. I wish we could launch a campaign to get some of the actors nominated for an Emmy, or the show itself. It’s a shame that the show doesn’t get recognized for all it’s attributes..besides the great action scenes.
