Ausiello didn’t reveal any Chuck news in this week’s Spoiler column, but he did ask Schwartz and Fedak about the prospects for a back 9 pickup. Basically it’s what we’ve been saying all along: too soon to tell. Also, the word “epic” is spoken. Drink!
Question: What are the chances Chuck will get a back-nine order? I’m freaking out over here! —Eric
Ausiello: I assumed exec producers Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz would be too. But they’re not. As Schwartz points out, “We never started a season with more than 13 episodes. Like last year, we will hope for the best, plan for the worst, and be ready to have an incredible final episode 13 if need be with a contingency plan to keep the season going.†Adds Fedak: “Episode 13 no matter what will be epic.â€
Pretty much what I was expecting; it’s too soon to tell.
“Epic”? I’m a bit wary when I hear that from Schwedak nowadays… 😉
Don’t forget, “epic” spelled backwards is “cipe”.
(How many drinks was that, Mel?)
epic! really dying over here….
Yes, but will it be game changing?
I’m sorry but I only drink on game changing. Aw Hell, I don’t drink.
maybe u should try a dirty martini
And here’s a little song I wrote,
you might wanna sing along with me,
don’t worry,
(Chuck will get the back nine,)
so be happy,
(they’re gonna be fine!)
Chuck will end up anchoring Monday nights again. Two unproven shows with audiences NBC can’t predict with accuracy are a recipe for a back 9 order any time now. Might be wishful thinking on my part, but I see Chuck getting the order for either another 6 or 9 with “The Event” being one of the casualties of the new television season. Hopefully Chuck takes care of business and won’t need other shows to perform badly to get the extra episodes.
It’s comforting that they are planning for the best and for the worst. Let’s hope the best is coming but if it is the worst, please give us a epic, not gamechanging, chuckworthy series finale. – I want to see either a proposal or a wedding and I want to see what will happen to the characters in the future. If it is anything like the last 5 minutes of O.C, only in Chuckstyle. I am happy. I wasn’t really a passionate fan but I know I cried the last five minutes.
Series finale wont be until Season 30, it will end with Chuck jr going off to Stanford along with his sister Lisa, while Chuck and Sarah hand in their resignations to Gen Casey.
I think Chuck will have more of a problem with competition from other shows this year. Even though Chuck may have greater problems competing I hope NBC realizes that any other shows they would put on in place of Chuck will fair much worse. Lets get that back 9 and even another season or two. As long as Chuck and Sarah are a couple–otherwise forget it.
