SPOILERS: Episode 4.01 Short Synopsis

MSN has a brief synopsis for the Chuck season 4 premiere, “Chuck vs. the Anniversary”:

Chuck and Morgan search the globe for Chuck’s mother (Linda Hamilton); Casey and Sarah track an operative (Dolph Lundgren) of the mysterious Volkoff Industries; Ellie shares big news.

Expect a longer synopsis from NBC in a few days. In the meantime, does “search the globe” mean Chuck and Morgan have been traveling the world all summer? Or are they searching via the Interwebz?

  1. Yay. Ellie obvisiously revealing she’s pregnant. And Hoping the gang gets back together soon.

  2. I think Volkoff Industries is going to be a subsidiary of The Ring, similar to McTeirnan Industries that was mentioned in a flash in Chuck versus the Subway.

    • You think they’re the big bad this year? About the globe thing, I’m guessing in the time that’s passed, Chuck has taken Morgan into confidence, and told him the whole thing maybe going on a world tour, as well as on the internet. Very intriguing season we’re going to have I can tell.

  3. I can’t imagine Chuck travelling the world without Sarah. “I love you, I’m so happy you moved in with me, oh and by the way I’m leaving you for the next 4 to 5 months to travel the world”

I think Chuck will have one of his automated searches going, like he used to find Orion.

    • He may have “work” where he will have to travel a lot? He is still an Intersect, after all and needs a cover job. CIA can certainly provide something better than a Nerd-Herder. At all photos we saw so far, he has a suit, so some kind of a businessman?
But I hope he won´t keep it in secret for long or that he will be back with CIA soon. The gang needs to be together.

    • Remember that Sarah and Casey still work for the CIA so she may have had to travel abroad for missions so Chuck and Morgan may have used that time to go travel around.

    • Yeah that bothered me also. At Comic Con, F&S said that Chuck and Morgan were going to be a spy team. They also said that they weren’t going to separate the team anymore. I’m interested to see how they combine those two. I can’t imagine Chuck traveling the world without Sarah at his side, so there had better be a good, legit reason why he doesn’t bring her along, like the reason that Chuck2B suggested.

  4. Search the globe doesn’t necessarily mean travel the globe. As I recall, Orion had some pretty sophisticated “next gen” computers and equipment to take over military drones, perhaps even spy satellites, hack into networks, et al. Perhaps some of this equipment was in Orion’s hidden basement.

Assuming that Chuck quit the CIA as stated in the finale, a Nerd Herd cover is no longer necessary. Maybe he’s taken his Stanford degree out for a spin. Orion must of had a source of income to fund his independent spying. Perhaps Chuck is using that and made up his own cover job that allows him to travel a lot.

I wonder if Chuck and Sarah moved out of the apartment and into the house? It would make sense so Chuck could have his bat cave but what I really hope is that the writers take their time in revealing who the new bad guys are and how dangerous they are. Then Chuck can be the best drama/comedy/action/mystery show on TV.

It sure doesn’t look like the writer’s painted themselves in a corner with how they ended Season 3, does it? I can hardly wait for September 20th.

  5. I would like to see how this plays out for Chuck and Sara as a couple. If both are always on separate missions, how do they show a couples scene. My bet is that the CIA missions follow closely to Chuck and the search for his mother.
