Dan’s Media Digest is reporting that Chuck season 4 will premiere in the UK on October 14! A result of Sky purchasing Virgin1, Chuck‘s previous UK home, is that the show has moved to Living and will debut months earlier than it would have otherwise. UK fans, mark your calendars for the season 4 premiere at 10PM on Thursday, October 14.

Zachary Levi introduces the new Nerd HQ
A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the possibility of Nerd HQ’s return. Well, …
This is great news as we get to see season 4 following straight on from the Season 3 finale which airs tonight. We will only be a few weeks behind the US air dates. The only concern I have is that it has gone to Living, which is Pay TV, rather than Sky One, which is freeview. Living is also a bit of a girl’s channel; typical shows include Dating in the Dark, America’s Next Top Model, Charmed and Drop Dead Diva. Sky One, on the other hand, shows Bones, Lie To Me and Fringe. I’m sure you get the picture. However, I think Sky have been re-branding some of their channels since the purchase of VirginTV so we will have to see what else will join Chuck.
Anyway, Chuck is being heavily promoted on Living. I’m not sure about other channels in the Sky family, but I’m sure it will mentioned after the season finale tonight so chuck fans will be able to find it.
Awesome 😛 14th isnt too far away either
i thought id have had to wait a few year for it to come to the UK
Thanks for the news Mel 🙂
disaster! living is not on freeview!
Great news!! Unfortunatelly I don’t live in the UK to watch it live and legally, but that means the season 4 DVD will probably also be released earlier than otherwise.
That is great news for all Chuck fans in europe (at least for those of us who can’t watch Region 1 DVDs 🙂 )
Hey Catarina, why are the US and Euro DVDs incompatible? Was it an accident of independently evolving technologies, or was it by design to better control who gets to see what when?
Doctor Bob, I have been trying to answer your question, but it seems my big posts are being somehow blocked by the anti-spam software.
Well, the different regions are made on purpose, so that they can control the prices, release dates, etc, according to region.
I have to keep my answer short, or I think it will get blocked again, but check this link out if you want to understand it better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvd_region
🙂
I went to the link and found it quite informative. Thanks, Cat!
Great news. My only concern would be that Virgin1 had a different target audience to Living. And I think I’m right in saying that Virgin1 was a free TV channel, whereas Living only comes with a paid for TV package. I might be wrong.
Hopefully this won’t affect us English Chucksters too badly, and I’m certain every Chuck fan that can watch will make sure they change channel to tune in and watch Season 4 unfold.
absolutely disgraceful….i cannot afford to buy sky tv.
i think all fans of chuck should unite and boycott all other channel one programs…next they will get people hooked on other new series and switch them on to pay tv too.
remember that channel one is still basically just virgin one, and many shows that were on living are put on (virgin1) a few months later, im still a bit miffed its gonna be put on living first, but im willing to wait and see what happens about it airing on channel one.
If you can’t wait for the premiere on October 14, the first three episodes of Season 4 are already available on iTunes (in the UK!) now that all Season 3 episodes have been broadcast here. Oh yes!
i agreed once you start getting into a great show like chuck they go and put it on a pay tv channel this is a joke, i wish E4 had bought chuck at least then you would know it will always be on that channel and not move to another just when it is getting great
Sky bought Virgin TV which included Virgin (now Channel) One and Bravo but it’s closing them down! I had heard that Channel One’s programs are going to Sky Three (also on Freeview) but obviously not Chuck. A shame because I’ve seen the utter rubbish my parents get on Sky and will not pay for hundreds of channels I’m never going to watch just to get one or two!
Shame on you Sky. Shame.
