NBC has released the first photo of Timothy Dalton on Chuck! This is from the day I was on set a couple of weeks ago, while they were filming episode 4.07, “Chuck vs. the First Fight”. Can you guess where they are?

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the possibility of Nerd HQ’s return. Well, …
Reminds me of a bank with a vault door in the back from that one episode with the laughing gas. Good episode, hilarious :P.
Saweet! I cannot wait for this episode.
Looks like a Bank vault? It looks different from the one in vs. the Broken Heart, though.
plus, just saying they are not laughing 🙂
I was hoping to get a Hot Fuzz Mustache version of Timothy Dalton. He looks hilariously cool w/ that mustache haha
Did he just fall into a pool? Otherwise why the heck does he have a blanket draped around his shoulders? I hope he’s Volkoff.
…….its a sweater not a blanket….
It looked like a blanket *shrugs* I guess I’ll take your word for it.
I can confirm, it’s a sweater. 🙂
Ok thanks Mel. 🙂
Yes and it bears an uncanny resemblance to one wore by Papa B in S2 when Chuck and Sarah first make contact with him and he comes for a visit. Makes me wonder….
Oh God, I hope they’re not implying what I think they’re implying. :
no I dont I think arnold schwarzsenagger shold be volkoff can u picture him as a russian arms dealer although it probably wont happen
I am so excited about them adding timothy dalton to the cast. He is one of the best actors that I have seen ever. Even at 66 the guy is still hot and can act. I thinks the creators of this show should feel very lucky for getting them to do this show.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jessy about Mr. Dalton being one of the best actors ever. I’ve written this before and it bears repeating: Timothy Dalton is underrated here in America and it will be sheer pleasure to see him in some of the Chuck episodes. I sure do hope they keep him on. My constant complaint is we never see enough of the man. Though I prefer TD in the stronger, leading man role (we tend to typecast our favorites). he can play just about any role put in front of him. Let’s face it, he’d be great doing commercials. Dennis Haysbert does Allstate and he too has a line of wonderful projects behind him. Nice deep voice. But couldn’t you just see TD doing a Mercedes-Benz or Infiniti commercial, what with his commanding presence and wonderful, booming voice? Some other projects he’s done and and is fabulous in are (no particular order): Possessed, Scarlett, Jane Eyre, Cleopatra, Beautician and the Beast, etc., etc. The creators of the show picked a winner!
I have been trying to guess where they are, but I have no idea!
Help! Anyone?
ps.1: Any extra clues, Mel?
ps.2: I have listened to the podcast, but so far… no idea
OK, we know there is an open area, there are balconies opposite to where Chuck and TD’s character are, white marble railings, and apparently a very big “safe door”… what else?
after watching the Cubic Z again, i wana know who hes playing, Heather Chandler says that Frost was always with Volkoff and from casting news, apparently Dalton is closely connected to Mama B, which makes me think he could be Volkoff. Any news on it yet??
A vault door or satellite dish? As for Dalton he looks more like Mr. Rogers in that sweater not some evil, bad guy such as Volkoff. But then a photo like this could be meant just to throw us off.
Maybe Papa B’s brother?
In the season premier episode, Casey describes Volkoff as the russian Howard Hughes of arms dealers. In his later years Howard Hughes was a recluse, never leaving his penthouse in Las Vegas. He was scared to death of germs and highly addicted to drugs. It has been suspected that the people close to Howard Hughes kept him in this state in order to take control of his fortune and resources withouth anyone suspecting that it wasn’t Howard Hughes giving the orders.
My theory is as forllows:
If taken literally, this means that nobody sees Volkoff and only assumes the orders are coming from him.
At first I thought Mama B worked for Volkoff… perhaps under threat to her family… after watching the first couple of episodes my thoughts on that are changing. I almost wonder if Papa B had it all wrong about her and ‘she’ is in fact “Volkoff”… wouldn’t that be a kicker. Would she bring down her own son? 😉
My initial thoughts on Timothy Dalton’s character was that he would be Volkoff. Now I’m not so sure about that. There were a list of agents shown with Frost’s name when Chuck was hacking the Russian computer and perhaps he’s one of those agents who is still trying to do what is right. Or maybe he is the baddie.
Guess we’ll all just have to tune in Monday nights to find out…
ahh, you might have a point there. Could Volkoff had been super bad but succumbed to his phobias and became a recluse? On such a scenario Frost could have been captured at first, but then gained his confidence and started making decisions for him, i.e. using the “Volkff” power by manipulating the man.
Howard hughes can either mean a playboy or a recluse… so TD could still in fact be playing Volkoff.
Great news.i am really pleased that Timothy will be on Chuck. He is so underated as actor.TD should definitely do more similar shows. He is wonderful
I just hope we see a scene where Zac and Timothy sitting at a bar and ordering in unison “Martini shaken not stirred”.
I know Chuck Bartowski doesn’t drink martinis, but Charles Carmichael loves them.
I’m sorry but I can no longer take Timothy Dalton seriously, every time I see him all I can think about is that scene from Hot Fuzz were he has the model church steeple impaled in his chin. Its sooo funny I don’t know if it was big in America but go watch it its hilarious.:D
