When they talked about “Bumps” in the Chuck/Sarah relationship, perhaps one of those bumps was Chuck getting a fuller picture of Sarah’s “romantic” past, hence the “Leftovers” referrence.
No Doctor Bob. Don’t go there. They bring out the best in each other.
Precisely the point of the show: two basically good people with frailties, shortcomings and faults who can see past them enough to bring out each others better natures. There are numerous referrences to this particular fault, not least among them, her own clever double entendre about having numerous stamps in her passport.
I agree with Doctor Bob. C/S are human, they are flawed, and that is what makes the characters interesting…
Any relationship has bumps, and that is just being realistic.
I don’t know if those are the intended leftovers, but it was the first thing I thought of…
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s regarding Thanksgiving given the episodes time line after Phase Three will most likely be November 29th. Definitely isn’t regarding Sarah’s romantic “past” because the creators already said nobody is coming in or out of Sarah and Chuck’s lives this season.
I think the title is just because of Thanksgiving but they said they wouldn’t put anyone between them means no more PLI’s showing up. It doesn’t necessarily mean that thier pasts won’t be brought up. For instance Sarah got the reputation of sleeping with every agent she worked with for a reason. Casey was the only exception and he flat out told her he knew of her rep and he wasn’t interested. pre Chuck she probably would have slept with Barker and as it is she was extremely unprofessional and fawning over him to the point that she got captured because of it.
It also could mean the fact that she only slept with Chuck once he became an agent (Barstow doesn’t count because she never tried again until he was an agent.It was spur of the moment).
There’s a few things I’d like to be brought up.
Her daddy issues (and kudos to them for actually saying she has them!)
The way she says yes to sleazy guys so easy and no to Chuck.
For intance there are those who say that she was all over Barker after Chuck broke up with her but he broke up with her after she coldly rejected him.
He broke up with her and dated Lou after she lied and said there was nothing under truth serum.
He broke up with her and dated Jill afte getting his hopes up only to find Bryce in her apartment and then not only had to watch her and Bryce all over each other but had Bryce tell him he was endangering her .
Hannah happened after Chuck overheard his declaration of love being answered by a transfer request.
Chuck has always reacted to her rejections of a relationship. He still kept her in his life though.
Sarah OTOH completely disapppeared from his life after prague even though he was rejecting the plan (a selfish one that required him to abandon his family and friends) not her. Plus it appeared that she wanted him because Bryce was dead and then she repeated that appearance of him being the default guy when she found out she killed Shaw’s wife. Chuck has no way of knowing she was packing to be with him and no reason to believe her if she tells him now so there are plenty of things for them to talk about relationship wise without having others actually show up.
I mean to add that fact that she only slept with Chuck once he became an agent might be brought up and make him wonder if she would have ever slept with him if he was never an agent.
I know what you mean ladycat 713 but it is not kosher to impugn the character of Sarah Walker in that particular regard.Plus, we know that she always loved Chuck and wanted to “be” with him right? It’s the thought that counts.
Doctor Bob–that was my first thought, but since I am the self proclaimed King of the angst haters I really hope that is not the case. Especially since we may only have 3 episodes after 4.10. Hope by then we get an extension of this season or word of a season 5.

Well she did offer to have a life with him in prague before he became an agent, and I suppose she would have slept with him, also in colonel, she would have if not for morgan, so I think she was always willing to go there when not watched by agents or security footage or any other time where her showing her real feelings would have made the goernment pull her from her assignment and away from chuck the man she loves.
ladycat 713, bravo. After what you outlined about Sarah’s behavior Chuck is the default guy. She says he’s always been first. I still contend that if Chuck were more experienced with women he would dump Sarah after time. Nobody wants to worry about that type of stuff in a relationship. It’s difficult enough as is without the past intruding but alas it is her past. He loves her and feels lucky to have her and since this is fiction and not real life, it can work out. I understand your perspective though.
