Friday Five: Chuck Crossover Suggestions

I’m a sucker for a good crossover, and it seems to me that Chuck has the potential to share a universe with a variety of shows. Here are my top five choices:

  1. White Collar – Bryce lives! Suppose Bryce faked his own death, again, to escape the CIA’s grasp only to be captured by the FBI as an alleged art thief. Or perhaps he used his skills and access as a CIA agent to steal art and subsidize his pension, then got caught by the FBI. Imagine Sarah and Chuck’s surprise when they track down a weapons dealer at an art auction and find “Neil” and Peter working the same case.
  2. Glee – Team Bartowski gets assigned to look into some suspicious activity at a high school in Ohio and uncover a plot by Sue Sylvester to trade national security secrets to get rid of Mr. Schuester. (If you’ve seen Glee, this isn’t far-fetched.) Chuck gets to sing a duet with fellow nerd Artie, Sarah provides some counsel to Brittany and Santana while fending off Puck’s advances, Casey and Emma Pillsbury flirt much to Mr. Shue’s dismay, JEFFSTER rocks out, and Sue faces off with General Beckman. I’m not sure who to put my money on in the latter case.
  3. Psych -  It’s the battle of ’80s pop culture references, and men with gifted minds. Sure, one of them is faking his super-brain powers, but wouldn’t it be interesting to watch the two teams try to solve the same case?
  4. Grey’s Anatomy – I keep chuckling at the thought of Devon showing up at Seattle Grace and showing McSteamy and McDreamy how to be McAwesome. Ellie could give some pointers on being in a healthy, stable relationship while being a brilliant neurologist as well.
  5. Castle – You thought I was going to miss the most obvious one, didn’t you? This would be a Casey-centric episode, naturally. Perhaps he’s called upon to guard Richard Castle after the bestselling author, currently in Los Angles as part of a book tour, receives death threats. Chuck could fine tune his Charles Carmichael persona after watching Castle in action. Sarah could inspire a whole new series of novels, and you know Morgan has a crush on Nikki Heat so Beckett definitely needs to make an appearance.

I toyed with a Nikita crossover idea, too, but that would make six. Which shows would you like to see come play in Chuck‘s world?

  1. Burn Notice! Spies, burned spies…it’s a natural fit. 🙂

  2. Why not Chase Volkoff puts Chuck as a wanted fugitive or he has something going on in texas that team B needs to stop

  3. So I guess that Phil Klemmer-scripted episode of Undercovers featuring Chuck and Sarah as visiting CIA spies from just down the road is now out of the question, huh?

    • probably but it would be awesome or the blooms visit chuck

    • Yeah, pretty much. I was tempted to put Undercovers on the list, but since it’s been canceled, why waste the spot?

      • Well, you know, maybe all is not lost. Undercovers and Chuck are both Warner Bros. shows. When Chuck rehires Klemmer to help fill out the back 11 (I mean, I think that is logical spec…), Klemmer can weave in some of the Undercovers characters. Could Carlton Shaw be Daniel Shaw’s dad? Could the Blooms be the Season 4 Role Models? Klemmer is the master of “nothing is what it seems” and he did write Role Models in Season 3, didn’t he? I never even actually watched Undercovers, but I love meta stuff like this…

      • Chuck and Sarah could teach the Blooms how to be a real spy couple and not get canceled.

  4. “Devon showing up at Seattle Grace and showing McSteamy and McDreamy how to be McAwesome”…. This! Pure gold! lol

  5. why not undercovers the two spy couples would work great together

  6. Undercovers, of course! What could be more fun that a spy couple double date with danger?

  7. My choice would be Bones. Casey and Booth could have some connection in the past. Sweets could be consulted on some issue in Chuck’s brain (trying to avoid spoilers there). Bones would not get any of Chuck’s humorous remarks. Hodgins, Sweets, Fisher and Chuck/Morgan could geek out. Angela could be consulted for the use of some of her tech inventions. Sure, the styles of the 2 shows are really different, but I think it’d be great.

    • Oooh, I like it!

    • I guess I should clarify that I realize they are on different networks, and therefore this would never be possible. But, I can dream 🙂

    • I would love Bones but technically Booth and Casey do have a connection from the past so to speak. There is an episode in season 1 where Adam Baldwin played one of the best FBi agents in the world (the other being Booth) working undercover with the mob and turning kidnapper/murderer. I havent seen it in awhile but I am sure Booth shoots him.

Then again this could make an awesome plot twist.

  8. My vote definitely goes for Castle on this one! Can you imagine Beckett having to deal with the likes of Jeff and Lester? X-D

    • I think she’d deal with them quite handily, without even breaking a sweat. She deals with Castle all the time, right? 😉

  9. “Devon showing up at Seattle Grace and showing McSteamy and McDreamy how to be McAwesome.” that would be priceless…
    auhauhauhuahuah

  10. The Event… come on, that EBB leader its like the lost daughter of General Beckman

  11. the chuck/psych crossover would be amazing! how much 80s music could they pack into 1 hour?!?

  12. Don’t ask me why, but I always thought it would be cool Daniel Jackson (SG-1) showed up someday. You know 1 Top Secret government project (in the intersect) with another Top Secret goverment project (the intersect).

  13. I actually tweeted this week that there should be a Chuck/Covert Affairs crossover so this Friday Five is AWESOME! Covert Affairs is pretty new but it is about a female CIA agent who has to complete her missions while keeping her real job hidden from her family (sound familiar?) with the help of the best sidekick ever (Auggie).

Another possibility is Burn Notice. It would create an interesting plot twist if Chuck were to meet a spy who has been burned and see how his angency treated him.

  14. Human Target.. now that would be an action packed episode!

  15. I’d love to see Sarah Walker meet up and solve a case with her nearly-the-same-age sister Annie from Covert Affairs! Chuck and Augie would make a great team, too!

  16. I think White Collar would be – no pun – awesome! We need a little Bryce drama.

  17. Dexter because it’s my other favorite show and the only one I also watch in real time. But Big Bang Theory would be funny too… Sheldon and Casey. Wolowitz and Sarah. Chuck and Leonard looking on in amazement.

    • I picture a lot of broken bones. Casey has nearly no patience for Morgan and Sarah nearly broke his s–t off (to borrow a Will Smith phrase) when he gave her a friendly pat. The ignorance of Sheldon and the raunchy touchy feelyness of Wolowitz would make for amazing TV (amazingly gory that is).

Im pretty sure that they would each end up as a side of a lovely pretzel wrapped and twisted lovingly and left haphazardly somewhere unseemly.

  18. The Office — The castle receives stationary laced with anthrax from the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Team B has to go there to investigate only to find that FULCRUM wasn’t completely defeated.

NCIS — While conducting a murder investigation, the NCIS finds it needs to work with the CIA and NSA to foil a terrorist plot against the SECNAV, DNI, and JFCC-NW PDQ. Which brings to question, why does Casey hate hacking into computers when he works for an organization that is primarily responsible for information system protection and crypto?

    • I was going to suggest NCIS to.We know both Casey and Gibbs are expert snipers I want to see who is better.Plus doing a crossover with the #1 rated scripted show whould get people to see what a great show Chuck is.

Mel,Casey would break Morgans everything if they followed your Castle suggestion.

  19. Without question Castle. Adam and Nathan are old castmates, and Nathan and Zac hangout all the time now. Nathan was at Zac B-Day party, they hung out on Halloween, go to gaming parties together… ect.

I think Beckett and Castle would fit in well with Chuck, Sarah, Casey, and Morgan…. Castle and Beckett could get a clue to a Volkoff agent who has murdered somone at the UN for something and his CIA source points him to the Volkoff expert in LA. Rick Castle, meet Chuck Bartowski!

    • I mean it was just meant to be…. just look

  20. I like the Castle idea above the others.

Outside your list, I think Human Target should be considered.

  21. Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] My name is Charles Bartowski. I used to be a spy. Until…
voice on phone: We got a burn notice on you. You’re blacklisted.
Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] When you’re burned, you’ve got nothing: no cash, no credit, and a job at the Buy-More. You’re stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in.
    Charles Bartowski: Where am I?
    Sarah Walker: Burbank.
Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who’s still talking to you. A martial-arts-happy girlfriend…
Sarah Walker: Shall we beat them with bamboo sticks?
Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] An old friend who used to used to have orders to eliminate you from the NSA…
John Casey: You know Bartowski… screams like a bunch of bitchy little girls.
    Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] Family too…
John Casey: Hey, is that your sister again?
    Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] … if you’re desperate.
Ellie Bartowski: Stop helping people, Chuck!!
Charles Bartowski: [voice-over] Bottom line? Until you figure out who burned you… you’re not going anywhere.

  22. Apart from all those excellent ideas that have been mentioned:-

Chuck/Warehouse 13 [after all, Stephen Bartowski had his very own version of a warehouse!]

Chuck/Sanctuary [The Sanctuary film come to trap something/someone in the Castle; JEFFSTER bond with Bigfoot, lol]

Chuck/Dr Who [the Nerds would go nuts over the TARDIS and I’d love to see everyone’s reaction to real, honest to goodness aliens]

[If only] Chuck/Firefly [Just to have that Jayne/Casey face-off…]

Chuck/Terminator [okay, maybe not for a family audience, but since Linda Hamilton is already a crossover actor….]

Chuck/Stargate [again, another Nerd fantasy, plus maybe Casey is actually also Colonel Dixon….!!]

    • Agreed on the Chuck/Stargate crossover.

Imagine Rodney McKay interacting with Chuck (especially Season 2 or so Chuck). They really need to get David Hewlett on Chuck at some point.

  23. i think a crossover with COMMUNITY would be fun with Jeffster 😀

  24. Id have to go with

    1. Castle – as in my mind it might actually work
    2. Lie to Me? Cal would surly make an interesting appearance? reading spies would be entertaining
    3. Sons of Anarchy? – Must be due a biker episode
    4. Nikita? team bartowski helping take division down
    5. 24 – Jack bauer

  25. I would choose Burn Notice. You have Team B going on a mission in Miami, who stumble upon the Burn Notice team and they are forced to work together to take down the bad guys. Human Target would be an excellent choice and would love to see a crossover with Castle.

  26. Castle, hand’s down. Would SO love to see Nathan Fillion as Rick Castle cross paths with Adam Baldwin as Casey.

  27. Supernatural crossover would be awesome.. Dean and Sam getting chased by team B 😛

  28. Love the idea of a crossover show. My picks would be Castle and White Collar. I have to say that I miss Bryce and the tension he brought to the show. And then there is Castle…..what if he appeared at The Buy More to promote one of his books and sign autographs. It could be a book about a mysterious NSA agent and Nikki Heat that had some kind of connection…….hmmmmm.

  29. In keeping with how CHUCK likes to reference the 80’s, I would have liked to see a crossover with The Greatest American Hero. My idea would have been to have Casey need to meet with a legendary government agent, Bill Maxwell, who Casey idolized because of all the amazing cases he solved.

While helping out Casey on a case, Bill begrudgingly reveals that he had help from a civilian, named Ralph Hinkley, and his wife Pam.

    It would have been nice to see how each person would have interacted with their 80’s counterpart;
Casey heroworshipping Bill, Chuck asking Ralph how he dealt with having “special” skills, and Sarah asking Pam how she dealt with Ralph and his involvement.

It’s a shame about Robert Culp’s untimely passing. Just an idea.

  30. I think they should do a crossover with Fringe. It’s my second favorite show and it would be an incredible show!

  31. How about switching the writers. The Office writers have clearly run out of ideas for those characters. I’d like to see what the Chuck writers could do with Michael Scott and company. And the Office writers are good with the wacky, hence the perfect time for a Lester episode.

PS Come on Fedak. Four years and still no Lester episode? Really?

  32. If you’re alking about a real “crossover” episode, how about FRINGE? Chuck and Sarah not only have to battle baddies in our universe, they then have to cross over and battle baddies in the alternate universe. Is there a corresponding intersect over there? And what about the prospects of an alternate version of JEFFSTER? Think Walternate with musical talent.

    • I think it would be funny if they made Sarah Olivia and Rachel’s long lost sister. That would be funny!

    • Dude that is a great idea, i also love fringe and a cross-over of this two shows is going to be amazing, mysterious and full with action, both the real world and the alternative world.

  33. The most obvious choice: BROTHERS AND SISTERS. (Chuck’s) Sarah Walker battling corporate espionage in the company owned by (B&S’s) Sarah Walker. This would be super cool just because of the episode title: CHUCK VERSUS SARAH WALKER!

  34. The big bang theory

Raj would be a perfect spy because he wouldn’t be able to talk while Sarah is around thus he cannot reveal the nations secrets

All the guys(minus casey) in a death match on Halo

  35. This is without a doubt my most favorite Friday Five yet! And the Bryce Larkin as Neil Caffrey crossover would be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  36. Definitely White Collar b/c it’s my other favorite show Although plot-wise it may be a stretch CIA and FBI are not typically working together. My other favorite show Eureka would be a cool crossover too, maybe Team Bartowski follows the trail of some Volkoff ordered super-weapon that is manufactured by Global Dynamics. Love to see Carter interact with Casey, that would be a hoot.

  37. I would like Castle or Human Target but like the Grey’s idea but might be a stretch!

  38. Castle for sure. Castle and Beckett have to go to LA as writer/technical consultant for the Nikki Heat film currently in production.

That’s all I’ve got so far, but at least it gets everybody together.

And aside from the REALLY OBVY (!) reunite of AB and NF, we have off-the-scale goodness of YS/SK scenes, which I will leave up to your imagination.

Reminds me of the X-Files ep where Mulder and Scully visit their movie set and Scully demonstrates how to run in heels for Tia Leone. 😉

  39. How about Chuck vs Dancing with the Stars? It would be a strange parallel to a certain real-life ratings competition…

    • Nah… Chuck would have an unfair advantage, because all of the dance steps would be in the intersect!

  40. The ultimate comedic crossover I can think of would be if somehow Phil Dunphy from Modern Family got caught up in the spy world with Team Bartowski, even just as a key witness or something. Imagine his reaction to the first time he enters Castle. Phil Dunphy, yo!

  41. Instead of Grey’s Anatomy, why not Private Practice? Awesome and Addison … but only consulting on the arrival of the newest Woodcomb (we don’t want any boyfriend shenanigans!)

  42. A lot of suggestions, but I’ll be peculiar and imagine a Pushing Daisies crossover. Some spy Team Bartowski has to interrogate turns out to be dead, and for some reason they end up in Coeur d’Coeurs. Chuck Bartowski can confer with Ned, Sarah finds out they relatively had it easy from Chuck Charles, and Emerson and Casey can trade barbs. Oh, and Team Bartowski ought to be surprised by Lily Charles…

Hey, they’re both Warner Brothers productions, right?!

  43. I’d go for Leverage. Both men are kinda nerdy but cool and there’s the parallels between how Sophie’s name reveal was handled and Sarah’s.While we don’t know Sophie’s real naem and she did reveal it, she revealed it to memebers of the “family” instead of some strange block of wood. And Sophie hasn’t told Nate because she’s mad that he risked himself for all of them and got shot and in prison just when he admitted he needed her. They handled it much better than Chuck did.

  44. 1. Chuck vs Fringe – and Chuck flashes on one of the Observers :D. Chuck Mirror universe could be so much fun! And Walter of course helped to invent Intersect.
    2. Chuck vs The Big Bang Theory – both being nerd-operas they can meet in millions of ways, starting from Sheldon just visiting Buy More.
    3. Chuck vs Burn Notice – See above Doctor Bob fantastic suggestion :D. Chuck Bartowski meet Chuck Finley!
    4. Chuck vs Splinter Cell – Computer game, not the TV show of course, but Sam Fisher could fit as Casey old buddy from NSA.

  45. My top 5 crossovers would be

    Smallville
    supernatural
    Castle
    white collar
    Fringe

the only 2 that could work would be castle and white collar

  46. What about Quantum Leap? Then Sam could go back in time to stop Shaw from shouting Orion. Wait, Sam Beckett is Orion. We just torn a hole in the fabric of the time continueum of the universe. Now we need Morgan’s car to get Doc Brown, er, Chuck’s shrink to fix all this. Okay. This is too complicated. How bout we just cross over into season 5.

  47. Or. . .Sarah and Chuck get sent to the future where earth has been used up and all the peoples have spread out to other planets and join up with Cpt. Reynolds and the crew. . .and of course wondering all the time how Col. Casey turned into Jayne or if he is a clone in the future!. . .oh. . .wait I guess that wouldn’t work out too well. Firefly isn’t on the air anymore = /

  48. Chuck Vs. White Collar:
    Chuck: Do I know you?
    Neil: No.
Chuck: Are you sure? I swear, you look oddly familiar, like someone I knew in Stanford…
    Neil: I have a twin named Bryce…

    SHOCKER!

  49. Chuck and Castle or Chuck and White Collar would be AWESOME!! It’d also be cool to see a Chuck and Bones crossover. Though I have to say I would absolutely LOVE to see a Buffy and Chuck or Angel and Chuck crossover, even though they’re off the air. The Buffy one could be Chuck flashing on an old picture of Buffy and then getting led to the Sunnydale crater and Team B finding out about Slayers and the supernatural world.

  50. Chuck Versus The IT Crowd

Moss accidentally releases a deadly virus that can override the defence system on the CIA computers, and Chuck and Morgan have to attempt to get the virus out of the system, whilst Sarah and Casey chase after Mama B, who escaped their capture on the quiet, because if they told Chuck or Morgan, they know that they would freak out.

Plausible storyline, add comedy, and little bit of Charah tension and you have everything you need to make a great episode. That, and Casey getting a call from Chuck and Chuck putting Moss on the phone to talk to him, and Casey hangs up straight away.

    ALSO

Chuck Versus How I Met Your Mother

Goliath National Bank is apparently funding terrorism through their profits that they are making. Chuck and Sarah talk to Marshall and Bilson to see what is going on, whilst Barney attempts to help Jeff & Lester pick up women, and Chuck talking to Ted about how he found the one. Robin and Casye have a bonding moment at the shooting range. Maybe he’s found a new love interest…Then again, its Casey!
