NBC is moving things around in 2011 as they kick off the mid-season schedule. Although all three current Monday shows were picked up through the rest of the season, Mondays will look a little different come January. No, Chuck isn’t moving, but it will anchor a new lineup.
The Cape, a new series about a disgraced cop who tries to clear his name via some superhero-esque techniques, premieres Sunday, January 9 with back-to-back episodes, then moves to 9/8c on Mondays beginning January 17. The Event will be on hiatus until February 28, at which point NBC plans a massive relaunch in its original timeslot. Meanwhile Chase will move to Wednesdays and new series Harry’s Law will try the 10/9c slot on Mondays.
Well, Mel, when you’re right, you’re right! Chuck really is the still, strong anchor of NBC’s lineup. 🙂
Does that mean there are less than 13 episode for The Cape? Regardless, that change makes much sense but Harry’s Law is a little weird. Can’t wait for Chuck/Cape night 😀 It must bode well for Chuck if they keep it on air for sweeps and take down The Event (heck, that probably bodes well for The Cape, too!) Let’s hope this works.
I am actually looking forward to The Cape. It could be a good show to go in tandem with Chuck for all the nerds and comic book lovers (same thing, huh?). I believe most people who watch Chuck will stay to check out The Cape and this gives another reason to keep Chuck longer.
I was hoping they would pair Chuck and The Cape. I think the two shows will do well together and give The Cape a good foundation to start.
I’m hoping The Cape is good/successful. NBC really needs a big show right now that isn’t on the brink of cancellation as they are losing shows to bring back next year left and right. Plus its got Summer Glau!
Chuck and The Cape?
Two superheroes. Double the fun.
chuck isnt a superhero he just got skill information programmed in his brain
So does this put us in a stronger position
for S-5 ?
I certainly hope so. However, as i keep thinking is it possible that NBC is looking for a replacement of Chuck? Something fresh and similar to Chuck but with more viewers. If thats the case get Cape out of there and leave Chuck for at least 2-3 seasons. I LOVE Chuck and Sarah together on screen.
Isn’t it interesting that Chuck is one of the few shows to keep its time slot/not go on hiatus.
I think this bodes well for a season 5, because it shows NBC has confidence in the show. Obviously it is profitable for them. Probably not big profits, but at least its not losing them money.
That must be more important than the actual rating figure.
