I know that’s a vague title, but some people really are avoiding spoilers so even a title could give away more than they wish to know. But on to the scoop! We have a little dish on Baby Awesome and some more intel on Vivian.
Baby Awesome scoop from TV Guide:
When will Ellie give birth on Chuck? — Howard
NATALIE: Soon! But don’t expect the delivery to go as planned. “Captain Awesome crumbled in the spy world, but when it comes to the baby being delivered, it might make the spy world look kind of easy,†Ryan Partlin says. “He might be ready to go on a mission after this.â€
OK, we already knew all of that. It’s going to be fun to see Awesome lose it, though, don’t you think?
And now some Vivian scoop from Ausiello:
Question: Could we please get some good new Chuck spoilers? —Alissa
Ausiello: Look for the new G-woman played by Robin Givens to butt heads with General Beckman when the former arrives on the scene this spring. Also, I uncovered a few more details about the new Vivian character being played by Supernatural‘s Lauren Cohan. Per a Chuck source, Vivian finds herself thrust into the spy world and quickly discovers that she has a lot in common with Chuckles. Are you thinking what I’m thinking..? ‘Cause I’m thinking… oh, I better not. I don’t need to spend the rest of the week wading through hate tweets.
Oh boy. Do we have another “special” brain? Could Vivian handle the Intersect? Or are they trying to tell us that Vivian is Chuck’s half-sister? Or even full sister? That seems like an awfully soap-opera-ish twist for Chuck to give us.
Well.. I assume by ‘a lot in common’, they aren’t going with a love triangle route, and I’m guessing this is when Chuck and Sarah are engaged (/crosses fingers), but maybe a new intersect? That’d be interesting for sure.. curse Ausiello.
Another intersect is the first thing that popped into my “special” brain, lol.
Sometime people ask for hate tweets and the tweets can accelerate the demise of a TV series– when writers refuse to learn from past experience. It also should be remembered that in the history of humans very few activities can compare to the wasted time in reading irrelevant tweets. I guess that would make the good tweets more valuable.
Maybe Vivian is Sarah’s half-sister? haha
Maybe chuck likes her? Shippers would totally sent hate tweets out for that.
I think that’s what AS was kinda alluding too. I think he was kidding. In any event, I’m sure that this is not a LI situation. The one lesson that I think they have learned is too never try and put anyone between C/S again.
Hm… I wouldn’t think it’d lead into a love triangle, as if this is past episode 4.13, we can hopefully guess that Charah are engaged. Will they be? Well who knows there, and I doubt writers would repeat their mistakes twice. Still.. maybe sister/half-sister? Another intersect? Very intersting..
yeah, i was kinda assuming that it meant that her and Chuck get along very well. i doubt they would let that go on very long though, as they know what happened last time haha.
I don’t know…Lauren Cohan looks A LOT like a young version of Linda Hamilton to me? What if Mama B. was pregnant when she left for Volkoff and she “goes off on a mission” to have the kid and hide the kid…It might be a little far fetched and the story might not be right but I cannot help but think that she is meant to look like Mama B. for a reason…
I agree that that storyline might be a little out there but you’re right about the resemblance between the two. It’s pretty striking. Compare the pictures at the links below:

Creating a play-list or mash-up for Ellie, that he calls the “push mix”, seems like a way that Devon Woodcomb would cope with his impending fatherhood.
I, personally think that Lauren could be Sarah’s little sis!!! I mean her dad is a criminal mastermind and so is Sarah’s!!! She would prob be Chuck’s sister -in-law, when C/S get engaged!!!
Yeah. I’m thinking the same thing. It didn’t occur to me until today, but I think that’s quite possible. The fans have been asking a lot about Sarah’s sister. This could be very interesting.
Why on earth does anyone think that Vivian is related too or maybe can have an Intersect, obviously she is going to be a love interest for Chuck I’m not saying he is going to ditch Sarah and get with this new girl, but i am 100% certain that she is only here to add tension in the Chuck and Sarah romance. Plus her father is a the next recurring big-bag guy, so she can be integrated into the spy world more than say Lou from season 1 or Hannah from season 3 would be able to. In other words Vivian can not only be a new romantic obstacle but she would be hard to get rid of, because she will most likely be so close to the spy storyline they come up with for her and her father.
I’m 99% sure Vivian is not a love interest for Chuck. When Ausiello says she has a lot in common with Chuck, that says “related” to me.
I’m sure I’m not the first person to make this analogy, but if this was Star Wars mythos, and Volkoff was the emperor, Mary Elizabeth would be Darth Vader and Vivian would be… Leia.
Of course, this isn’t Star Wars. Right?
That makes the Buy Morons Ewoks, though, so I’m feeling this too.
I agree with Mel. Matthew, I’m not sure if you’re a new fan or have been a fan for a while. If you’ve been a fan for a while, I’m not sure why you think she’s obviously going to be a love interest. Also, if you’ve been a fan, you can skip the rest of this paragraph because I wrote it under the assumption that you’re a new fan. I’ve been a fan since season 2 and I’m pretty darn sure she’s not going to be a love interest. If you were following the show during season 3 you should know why I’m pretty sure. In that season (last season) they had 2 big love interest arcs and, well, it didn’t go so well. In fact, that’s a big understatement. Truth is, it went quite badly. It was so bad that nearly half the season was ruined by it. At the Comic Con panel last summer, F&S specifically said that they had learned their lesson about putting people between Chuck and Sarah.
As for trying to hit on Chuck and/or making Sarah jealous to add some tension, that might be more possible.
Also, before I forget to mention it, there’s some much stronger evidence why she won’t be a love interest: by the time she arrives, Chuck and Sarah will likely be engaged. They’re probably going to get engaged near the end of episode 13, which F&S have said is the best 10 minutes in Chuck history. Usually when they say things like that, they’re talking about Chuck and Sarah. Lastly, I hope none of this offended you. That wasn’t my intention. I’m simply trying to offer an explanation.

Hmmm… I just hope that Vivian is not another love interest that goes between Sarah and Chuck. It would be nice to see Lauren Cohan in a non supernatural tv show since I guess she was in Supernatural and currently in Vampire Diaries.

Well after the last episode it would not suprise me that Vivian is a new lover of Chuck.. Because they still need a dozen of episodes and maybe a season 5..
So they need to postpone the engagement,and what better(annoying) way to do that with a new lover.. If Bryce hadden’t had his own show(white collar)I would expect him back to….

No, the proposal will happen in 413 or 414 at the latest. They have gotten everything out of that storyline they can. I seriously doubt she will be a PLI for chuck. Fedak and Schwartz won’t put another PLI between C/S again.
I do hope that,it’s about damn time that it’s going to happen.

Volkoff’s daughter seems to be a popular speculation. Would make a interesting storyline when she finds out that chuck ended her dad.

I was thinking that Vivian could be Volkoff’s daughter which could open up a lot of different plot scenarios for the show. I really don’t think she would be Sarah’s sister as nobody is sure if she even has a sister. Sarah only mentioned it one time and that was the show where Carina first appeared, so it would make more sense for Carina to be Sarah’s sister just from watching that episode (chuck vs. the wookie).

I’ve thought about the Sarah sister thing too. I’m thinking though that was made up for the cover and that she doesn’t really have a sister.
Vivian:
Now Volkoff’s daughter makes good sense to me. Mama B’s daughter doesn’t. Intersect capable… maybe. Chuck can be deemed special by his dad. Doesn’t mean someone else also can’t be “special”. Hoping this character is.
My theory is she too grew up knowing nothing about her dad’s activities and shares that common ground with Chuck with being able to handle an intersect. Maybe gets the intersect in a similar fashion but instead of going down the path Chuck has, she goes in another more darker one.
I doubt the writers would spend this much time on this though so I’m probably just grasping at straws, Fun to speculate though… 😉
i think that this vivian character will be what chuck was in the 1st season, an asset. someone thrust into the spy world against her will, so obviously chuck will be able to relate to her. maybe she will be infatuated with him? of course chuck will never return her affections
