SPOILERS: A Little About Gary Cole’s Return

EW has a little info on what to expect when Gary Cole reprises his role as Sarah’s dad in episode 4.21:

Chuck scoop pretty, pretty please with chocolate sauce on top (just not the way Morgan and Alex used it…ewww). — Ann
Since you brought up couples, what about some news on one of our favorite TV couples: Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski)? When Gary Cole reprises his role as Sarah’s papa, expect not only to learn more about Sarah’s backstory, but also to witness the pair seeing new sides of each other. “I think when you decide to take the leap, and you’re engaged to be married, you’re going to learn more about the person you’ve decided to spend the rest of your life with, but you often learn what they’re like in the most grueling of life situations,” co-creator Chris Fedak says. “And that isn’t disarming a bomb or prepping for a mission — it’s preparing yourself for a wedding.”

They sure are pushing the “planning a wedding is hard!” angle, aren’t they?

  1. I wonder how the dad will react when he realizes their engaged

  2. UnleashTheCasey

I wonder if he’ll try to abscond with any of the gifts…

  3. I think as a gift from dad they will get about 2 million dollars stolen from an arabian oil-magnat. 🙂

  4. Any gift from Jack Burton is sure to be suspect!

  5. Oh, not Cole Barker…

  6. Yep disarming a bomb with computer porn is childs play compared to planning a wedding.

Part of me can’t wait for this episode another part of me doesn’t want this terrific season to end and getting to that episode will mean we are that much closer to the end of the season.

  7. To quote Augusto Gaez: “The suspense is a killer, no?”

  8. As long as they don’t come up with some lame excuse to break them up, I don’t care.

  9. You know what I’m hoping for? A flashback with little Sarah and daddy telling her if she decides to love one schnook for the rest of her life he better treat her right. 🙂

  10. How about her real name comes up and Jack Burton is surprised that it wasn;t Chuck she told and asks who she told and why.

    • Great idea, TB. I’d love to hear the explanation from Sarah’s own mouth. But I think it’s a live wire that none of the writers want to touch. It was an unsettling moment for many fans. Perhaps the only satisfying resolution would be for Chuck to learn that she was inventing another cover on the spot when she suddenly had to produce a name for Shaw, that she would never have divulged her real name to anyone but Chuck, and that Chuck learns her real identity either by looking at her spy will or through the normal process of pulling a marriage license.

      • I’d like to see a scene where he says something like.. “You know like your real name Sam?” Sarah says “That isn’t my real name… never was” Chuck then asks “It isn’t?” She leans in, whispers it in his ear, and a smile comes over his face. Audience doesn’t really get to know. Chuck though is satisfied.

Her real name isn’t really too important to me… I know some are peeved about its reveal though.
