Several bloggers were on the set of Chuck yesterday as they continued filming scenes from the upcoming season finale and the Tweets that came out revealed that they were on location at a hospital (the same one Scrubs used). While the bloggers were keeping details to themselves, fan Kevin Smith who was on the set with his Lego rendition of the Buy More got this hugely spoileriffic photo:

That’s Kevin and friend in the front, surrounded by Chris Fedak, Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Zachary Levi, Linda Hamilton, Ryan McPartlin, Sarah Lancaster, Timothy Dalton, and Yvonne Strahovski.
What’s so spoilery about this? First, Mama B and Volkoff are back for the finale. Second…Sarah’s wearing a hospital gown and very little makeup. Did you just gasp? I did. What does it mean? Will the wedding take place in a hospital in a callback to the proposal? WHY IS SARAH IN THE HOSPITAL????
oh my gosh..this is too spoilery and teasing… i just hope Chuck will be picked up for a new Season.. its needs more! c’mon!
Chuck fans need to write positive letters or send e-mails to the NBC “powers-that-be” As soon as I find out the contacts, I plan on writing mine this week.

if this is the finale episode, which is entitled chuck vs. the cliffhanger, the wedding may or may not happen in this episode/season. hopefully i’m wrong.
and why in the world is timothy dalton wearing a casual attire and not in his prison uniform? is he out of prison already? is he the reason why sarah has been hospitalized?…god! i’m brainstorming.
and if this is the finale episode, why are everybody not in their formal attire for chuck and sarah’s wedding, if this is the episode when the wedding will take place?
THIS MAKES ME MORE EXCITED!!! i’m really looking forward to see the season finale. (I’M CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC THAT THIS WILL BE A SEASON FINALE AND NOT A SERIES FINALE) fingers crossed. :))

The cliffhanger, Sarah’s in the hospital and we don’t know if the new bride makes it to the wedding or not. This is why we must have season 5 at all costs.

Intriguing, but also a little worrying. I hope they aren’t going to end this season with Sarah’s life hanging in the balance and Chuck heartbroken! As much as I want a 5th season, it has to have the Chuck/ Sarah relationship and if this is the end, I would hate it to be on a sour, depressing note. I’ve always really appreciated the way that the Chuck creative team has avoided this path, as it has spoiled my enjoyment of other shows. Real life is depressing enough, is it so wrong to want the occasional happy ending on TV?! Here’s hoping for a great season finale and a season 5 pickup!
Excellent point. One of the things that Chuck has served for our family (and one reason the Shaw stuff was so bad) was that even if there were tense periods, at the end, you had a resolution that was positive, often uplifting, and one that left you feeling good. To end on a down or down-sounding note would be simply wrong. And, in other seasons, even when they ended with something unresolved, it was never “unresolved bad.”
Ok so we all know that ellie has been working on her dads computer right? and we have already heard chuck say that he has nothing in the intersect about this agent x correct? So the likely hood of elie cracking the mystery is pretty strong, therefore it will in danger the her family. I think that elie doesnt have a baby sitter so chuck and sarah are left to babysit, then the eraser comes in to steal the computer, chuck who is holding his niece is helpless and the only person that can save them both is sarah. So she risks her own life to save her one true love and her new niece. She gets badly hurt and ends up in a coma, chuck is gutted and upset,the doctor comes in and tells chuck that sarah is in a coma and that she is 14 weeks pregnant. Bla bla bla and then in a horrible twist agent x is really sarahs long lost sister!!!!!
As I said on twitter 2 Josh Schwartz – Is it possible that S4 finale gonna be like S2 but instead Chuck saying “Guys, I know Kung Fu” this time we gonna have Sarah saying: “Guys, I’m pregnant” 😀
Therefore, hospital where she will be admitted cause of fatigue or something & everybody gonna be afraid at first that something is very, very wrong with her etc. But in the end – it’s gonna be a sweetest cliffhanger in the history of television. And… no, probably there aint gonna be wedding.
Maybe I’m just to much of a gentle soul & want 2 have good things coming out of seemingly bad situation.
You may be onto something. Could it be that Sarah “passes out” at the wedding (before she gets to say her “I do”), and that they take her to the hospital – and it turns out it’s BECAUSE she’s pregnant? Would be an “awesome” ending – either to the season (or the series – perish the thought) – to have them married in the hospital.
Either way – or should I say “whatever way” it turns out to be, looking forward to a GREAT 24th episode! And hopefully at least 13 more for Season 5!!
That’s what I was thinking! I looked at Yvonne in the hospital gown and thought right away “No. Could Sarah be pregnant?” Cause in that one episode in the end, Chuck did say “maybe we’re next” to the family situation. It would be kind of interesting to see where that would go in the show…
Sorry all…but a Sarah pregnancy would ruin the show…..why can’t married people/spys have an exciting career with adventure and excitement….just my thoughts.
I don’t think they’d have sarah pregnant right after ellie! And on top of that, she is a HUGE part of the spy dynamic of the show. Its a little hard to keep it a plausible spy show if one of the main spies is at home taking care of a baby. This is, of course, assuming there will be a fifth season!
what happen to chuck’s old flame? which i mean Jill roberts… should she appear to make chuck and sarah relationship more complicated? I want to know about Casey, he should have an happy ending to say that he has he’s own relationship beside his daughter, Alex. Jeffster should be more frequent on the show as they make chuck look more happening like season 2. Also make the appearance of Captain Awesome’s parent and Daniel Shaw. Is the intersect in his head has removed?

The last time we saw Sarah in a hospital gown was in “Chuck vs. the Breakup” only in this photo we don’t see any gardenias. As you will recall Bryce showed up for that episode, so will he be Agent X? Also will Chuck be able to be Sarah’s bodyguard in a way that he couldn’t before? Last but not least, Volkoff looks like he is wearing his Geoffrey Tuttle sweater again, what does that mean? Let the speculation begin!
Bryce Larkin is dead and I highly doubt they would ever bring him, Jill, or Shaw(rofl) back for any reason.
Obviously Bryce is dead. But we’re all free to speculate. That’s half the fun.
If this means that we end up with Sarah near or at death (remember, Funeral at 3 PM), and Chuck standing there doing vows in hospital while she lingers, I will be leading the damn pitchfork brigade. I am sorry: these two characters are people who I (and many others) have grown to really like, and to leave it with that kind of pain to them is sadistic. Not to mention to the viewers who support. Absolutely unacceptable if they go that route.
And I will be right there next to you, helping you lead that pitchfork brigade.
They better not take the show that route. I mean, common, they JUST got together at the end of last season!!! I hope the train is a mile off the tracks, and we are making it bigger than it really is.
My first thought was that hey Sarah’s pregnant and that’s why she’s wearing a hospital gown. Can’t wait for the final episodes to air already! 🙂 I’m really hoping that Chuck would get a fifth season though.. And if the final episode ends with some super exciting cliffhanger and Chuck doesn’t get renewed then I don’t know what I will do. Therefore everyone should tell as many friends as possible to watch live!

I am making a magazine for my school and was wondering this is a crazy question but i was just wondering if at anytime Mel you were going to interview the cast and see if you could ask them how it is being on a tv show it would be REALLY helpful to my magazine but if you can’t i understand. lol Thanks for the spoiler pic! 😀

oh and look, sarah’s in a hospital gown. My guess is it’s some kind of trap for whoever ends up being the real villain of the finale.
That was my thought also. But then I noticed the little amount of makeup. Sarah NEVER wears that little makeup. Its usually subtle but noticable. In this picture you don’t even see that. [don’t get me wrong she is still beautiful] its just out of character(: If it was just a set up she would still have her normal makeup dont you think? Then again I could be totally wrong!!

Okay now this truly sucks. If Sarah gets injured or something in the finale and we get canceled and thus never get resolution….that’s just not right.
Oh no! Why is she in a hospital gown? I can only hope that this is very early in the episode and she somehow miraculously recovers in time for a big wedding. They might not get another season and they owe it to the fans to see Chuck and Sarah have a happy ending. Please God say this isn’t the cliffhanger!
Hmm…maybe, but think about Episode 2.22; the wedding between Ellie and Awesome happened, and THEN, the cliffhanger followed.
I think Chuck and Sarah will get married, and THEN, near the end, Sarah will protect her Chuck and get badly injured in the process.
Remember that Chris Fedak said that something terrible would happen to a beloved character in the final episode; now we know that it’s Sarah.
My theory: Unfortunately, it is called Vs the cliffhanger & I think that Sarah will be clinging to life as she took a bullet meant for Chuck. Since the last few eps have had terrible numbers I really don’t think that WB won’t be able to bring down the cost enough to keep NBC interested not even splitting the product placement money would be enough….which will be the only thing to mar my experience of this season…
I think either Sarah is actually Agent-X (why she is so good at her work) OR Chuck is Agent-X and she stepped in to take the hit from Valerie Volkoff’s DNA weapon and lies dying at the hospital. The cliff hanger is “will Chuck find an antidote in time.” See Season 5 to find out. 🙂
And if they pull that crap, they will have destroyed one helluva lot of good will. Not to mention acted just plain wrongly towards their fans and towards characters that they caused a lot of people to actually care about. I hope they realize that they can destroy a franchise really quickly, and that they have the integrity and the respect for their audience not to go there.
They enjoy placing important events in the middle of the episode. It’s entirely possible the wedding occurs at the 25-30 minute mark and then the last 10 minutes are at the hospital.
As long as the season doesn’t end with a negative cliffhanger, I’m okay. If they end if badly and they don’t get renewed…it will be a LOST moment (except the LOST writers knew it was the last episode…)
Is anyone considering this is just a cover like in Chuck vs. the truth? (or whatever that episode was called when she donned the brown wig to catch ellie’s poisoner). Maybe she’s just at the hospital for a mission. I don’t think they’d do anything major to Sarah, since people love her character so much.

Sarah will get injured during a suicide mission and when they do a health-check, team Eleanore finds out that there’s more coming, literally…Sarah’s pregnant. Ellie and Awesome then have the pleasure to announce the news to Sarah and to the rest of the Bartowski family.
^^ At least that’s what i’m hoping for. Would be a killer end to the show even though I’d really-really want a couple seasons more but if this is the end, then nothing tops that. ALL LOVE…

Someone suggested something like that further up… these remind me too much of The Office. In the season 6 finale, Pam got hurt playing volleyball, and when they took her to the hospital, they found out she was pregnant.
Except that if they would get S5, it would kill the show. I can´t imagine Sarah being pregnant. I can´t even imagine both of them being parents. They are not ready. And I think Schwartz said something like that he doesn´t know how would Sarah be a spy in field if she were pregnant.

I think its really selfish of all the people wanting the Season 4 Finale to end on a high.
After all it is Fedak and Co’s story, Chuck is an artform and its their call to make.
Hopefully the gamble pays off for them.
They can always end the story by other means, like a Movie or comic book or animated video. The most important thing is that the story gets told from start to end.
You’re right. It is their show. But, they are selling a product, and have done so for years. Just as in any other business, they should respect their customers. If, however, they choose not to, then it is the right of the customer (their fans) to vote with their wallets.

Instead of this happening near the end of the episode, maybe it happens at the beginning. Perhaps Sarah is injured in the last few minutes of the previous episode and they start this episode with her in the hospital.
She’s not seriously hurt, but they have to keep her there until test results are back.
Then everyone is freaking out wondering if she will get released from the hospital in time for the wedding – especially Sarah. There could actually be some humour in this scene.
The fact is there are so many possible scenarios we can come up with based on this photo.
Agreed, Gord…We won’t know what’s going on until it happens, so there’s really nothing to be gained by getting too worked up over it.
Having said that, seeing Yvonne done up in a hospital gown with little to no makeup makes me wonder if an earlier prediction I made about Chuck and Sarah in the finale might actually come true! 😀

Hey all, I’ve been thinking about the picture & the season in perticualer – if something Serious happened 2 Yvonne’s character alot of people would turn off (I would)! JS & CF said in an interview earlier in the season that Volkoff was there favourate character 2 write for. A couple of weeks ago they said they would miss him. Here is what I see happening: Mama B turns Volkoff 2 help her save Chuck from Vivian & The Norseman – He will want 2 prove he cares 4 Mary & dies trying 2 save him. It will all happen during the wedding! Sarah will b injured in fight – she’ll get shot by the Norseman. We will see Chuck (the character) losing his belief in people & going dark side spy wise as a result. It will be up 2 Sarah 2 bring him back 2 the guy she 1st met & the take down of Vivian next season. HOPEFULLY PLEASE NBC RENEW!!!
Well they said that for season finally Chuck worst nightmare will come true, and now Sarah is in a hospital, no body is wearing anything that indicates that they were in a wedding, so I don’t know that to think.
Maybe something really wrong happened to Sarah and that’s the reason for them being at the hospital.

About Sarah in the hospital gown, I seriously think they’re not ready for a pregnant Sarah, but they did say something about something horrible happening to someone we love, so…
I am all new to Chuck. Saw my first episode two weeks ago and have now, via DvD, watched all of seasons 1,2 & 3. Then caught up via the web on season four. For me its the best show I have watched and I love the connection between the characters. If they kill of any of the main cast I doubt I would watch next season… if there is one.
I am not sure how the rating system works in the States but they really need to get Chuck on at a better time so it has a better chance of competing. Here in the UK the problem is it is not on a primary channel like BBC, Sky1 etc but on Channel 5.. where 2 people and a rabbit watch.
It needs better coverage…. come on season 5!

As tvline.com revealed, the show casted for a character known as “The Eraser” who works to keep CIA secrets a secret and will do what it takes. That is at least basically what the character description revealed.
They also revealed that something bad would happen at or after the wedding and that someone “we all love” (now most likely Sarah) would get shot.
Here is my best guess…
Chuck and Sarah get married, Alex and Morgan move in together, all happiness and puppies… Then as they move into a nice house, the “Eraser” gets involved dressed as one of the movers and shoots his/her way around and somehow finds a way to create an explosion. Sarah will be badly injured (but notice in picture she isn’t bleeding) and just when everyone is worried she will die which she may or may not (given that she is really looking pale). You will then learn as a doctor reveals to Chuck that as they took a sample of her blood and tested it she came up positive(as someone speculated above), “Sarah is preggers.” Then “To be Continued…” and fade to black.
Again this is only speculation given everything I know. Should be good til’ the end!
Oh, perhaps the one thing no one has suggested is what will happen… Maybe she won’t die, but she will be in a coma. As Ellie and Awesome once put it to Chuck, Sarah and Chuck make for a great duo. The dynamic COMPLETELY changes if she is in a coma from the explosion (of the house as I speculate will be at the hands of “the eraser” for knowing who Agent X is). I would argue for the better because they can still bring her back if they wanted which would please the “Charah” fans and Chuck can develop as a spy without her (which we learned after the episode Chuck versus Phase Three that not only is her death the thing that most haunts him (intentional foreshadowing, perhaps?), but it is somewhat necessary to avoid all of the cheesy lovey dovey fluff this season was full of. Maybe next season will be darker as a result.
The only thing I will argue is that as the show has progressed, the “innocence” of the show and the characters have been lost since season three. If they want to keep me truly interested, they will have to continue right from where they end here and not skip so far ahead that we miss a lot of the character development. (Reference: Season 3 season premiere)
I don’t think any of the “Chuck vs the Cliffhanger” will actually involve the health of that ‘someone we love’. I do think it’s Sarah that gets shot/hurt somehow and is put in the hospital, but I seriously doubt that the cliffhanger will end on whether Sarah lives or dies. It’ll probably just be a ‘flesh’ wound, ala when she was sent to the hospital before. Not nearly as bad as Casey (I hope), but not just a simple scratch either.
No, I think the cliffhanger will have to do with more Spy mythos that would lead into Season 5. Still hoping for them to pull off the wedding somehow, but I won’t get too hopeful as I don’t want to be disappointed.
So yeah, previously posted in another topic.. I like the theory of whatever terrible happens, it’ll happen in 4.23, and lead into 4.24 where Sarah will recover.
Really looking forward to how all of this progresses, though. Don’t sweat it, Chuck fans! No need to automatically think the worst, after all. And yeah.. I doubt Sarah’s pregnant. They just dealt with that sort of plot thread earlier on in the season with Ellie.

Holy spoilers Batman! I accidentally wandered onto this link and I guess I can’t undo that now! lol… Volkoff, Mama B. and Sarah in a hospital gown. Dr. Whitcombs as well. Pretty wild. Can’t wait for these last episodes.
