  1. Most interesting comment was Yvonne’s : ” we’re supposed to tease that out.” about the will they or wont they make it to the altar situation. Tells me that you fans that are worrying – and you all know who you are – heck, we ALL know who you are – should just stop and enjoy the show you love.

  2. I loved their comments about Bonita – very funny.

I have seen a lot of TV series come and go, but there are very few that have grabbed my attention like Chuck has.

There has to be another season, simply because I’m not ready to say good bye to this show yet.

On the other hand, for me S4 has been such a great season, if it does end at least it will be ending on a high note.

One can only hope that they will do some Chuck movies – even if straight to DVD (like Stargate SG1) when the series does come to an end.

i just love the way zach and yvonne look for each other… its kinda something live with it… xixixixixi, *just saying

  4. amalia .. please .. we don’t discuss actors private lives here.. =)))))))))))))
on topic : they really look cute together .. to bad they don’t feel that 😉
    fun vid 🙂

  5. So why less observable affection over the last six episodes or so? Chuck and Sarah aren’t acting like to young people in love about to get married; they act like business associates.

    • I agree. I think the writers have forgotten that Chuck and Sarah are suppose to be young and in love…

  6. Okay when they started running with the Bonita in the film Inception gag I lost it! XD Reminds me of my friends and our pop culture references run amuck. LOL

  7. Maybe it says “Bartowski Wedding” because it’s actually set to be a dual ceremony: Chuck and Sarah; and Mama B and Alexi (who Mama B decides is a good guy because he helps protect Chuck et al. when Vivian tries to take them out).

  8. Having watched the clip again, it reflects what the problem with the show has become. Yvonne has become the fifth wheel. The interaction is all Zach and Joshua; it’s like Yvonne’s just there being the good sport, but the whole “relationship” is between the guys.

I have to wonder if that’s true on the set, and why there is no longer the genuine warmth between Chuck and Sarah that there was before, simply because Yvonne is feeling like she (and her character) are now the outcasts in the “relationship.”

I also note that in other interviews, Zach talks about the “Bromance” is alive. Which makes me think that perhaps because he and Joshua have become really good buddies, he and perhaps the writers have forgotten what made the show: the genuine warmth, affection and love between Chuck and Sarah, regardless of the circumstances.

Let me be candid: I have never really liked the Morgan character. I have always found him annoying. While they’ve morphed him over the past season or so, he remains annoying.

But, all that aside, annoying characters can be an enjoyable part of a show — Seinfeld was filled with them. But, if the people calling the shots here have lost their path, and let Josh and Zach’s friendship become the driver into the show’s relationships, that is not good.

Perhaps over the next two episodes (and hopefully in a next season) they’re correct the path that this ship is navigating. But they’ve been veering off course for most of this half of the season, and as far as I’m concerned, if they don’t make a quick course correction and get the relationship/romance focus back where it was and should be — a genuine (not bubble bath) affection between Chuck and Sarah — the show won’t be what grabbed all of my family (ranging from 16 to 55). Which would be a shame because while I’d find something else to do with my Monday nights, I’ll miss it.

    • You must be new to the fandom. Anytime Zac and Josh are in an interview together, it’s like this. Has been since the beginning, even during the times when you think Chuck and Sarah were closer than they are now (you know, when all that angst was playing out, before they got engaged and boring). Zac and Yvonne have always gotten along IRL just fine, sort of a brother/sister vibe. She’s not nearly as outgoing as Zac is, though, so she’s fine with letting him take the spotlight. But believe me, I’ve seen them together on set and she definitely holds her own just in a different way.

      • I am new, so thanks. Having said that, I still am not seeing the kind of emotional bond that (a) a soon to be wed couple would have, and (b) was evident in earlier periods of the show.

      • You mean on the show, right? Not between the actors IRL? I disagree that Chuck & Sarah don’t seem like a couple about to be married. They’re as comfortable with each other as I would expect, affectionate when appropriate to the storyline, and focused on the wedding when necessary. This isn’t a show about weddings, though, it’s about spies and how these people have become a team and a family despite the odds against them.

  9. Mel: yes, on the show — I mean the characters. While Chuck and Sarah are comfortable, you don’t see the offhand, sometimes unspoken affection you saw earlier in the show. It’s been a long time since we were engaged, but both my wife and I are bugged by the lack of affectionate glances, embraces, kisses or other “little things” that we’d expect from a soon to be married couple. While it is a spy show, to be sure, and the “romance” shouldn’t run the thing, the relationship right now seems closer to Steed and Mrs. Peel than Helen and Harry Tasker, or Nick and Nora Charles.

    • And on my side, I feel like we ARE being shown affectionate “little things” that shore up their relationship without overpowering the rest of the storyline. Different expectations, I guess.

      • I think we can cordially agree to disagree on this. I’m just comparing what I’m seeing in current episodes with what I see in the early seasons (we’re working through earlier seasons with newly hooked teenage daughter; thank God we haven’t gotten to Shaw yet.) From our perspective, tho’, if the soon-to-be married couple treats the event like the merger of two businesses, why should the audience care whether Chuck and Sarah get hitched?

  10. I agree with Mel at the “little things” part like when she puts her legs on him in versus The Murdeer etc. things like that makes for cutesy couples scenes .. and they are really fun to watch IRL ! but in a tv show they should cover the HOT department too (and not in a bubblebath kinda way). Maybe get Casey a love interest =)) (A YOUNG LOVE INTEREST).

Great forum Mel and i hope Chuck gets picked up for a 5th season so we can comment here the lack of passion in a married couple :)))) :X:X:X

  11. I agree about the little affectionate scenes .. they are there but for a show that’s adressed to 18/49 age segment a cutesy scene in a whole episode just don’t cut it anymore therefore the ratings decline 😉 i think everyone knows what i’m talking about.
I’m not saying they should sex up the show.. but a little hotness now and then sure wouldn’t hurt the ratings 😛

  12. Well I’ve been watching the show from the very beginning. It seemed to me during part of season 4 there was too much romance and not enough of Casey, Morgan or even the Buy More! Casey had very good reason to think he was being regulated to backup which brought about him being part of the Great Intersect project in the first place. I was even getting tired of seeing Chuck and Sarah romance taking over the whole show, so I was actually relieved when they toned it down a bit. Also the 8PM hour in the East and the 7 PM hour in the Midwest is not exactly the time for many sex scenes. As for Morgan and Chuck bromance driving the show except for it being Morgan who showed Ellie Chuck’s intersect capabilities, having Morgan move out of the apartment, and having him team more and more with Casey, there seems to be less of the Chuck and Morgan bromance which is proper since Chuck now has a romance with Sarah. They are going to get married. They don’t have to steel forbidden moments anymore. They sleep together and make love every day, so of course they don’t have to be on top of one another all day. While they’re working they need to concentrate on their job and not make Casey sick. Morgan was up in the Buymore during “Chuck vs Muuuuuuurder” and wasn’t even involved in the intersect testing or the murder solutions. In fact Chuck doesn’t even see that much of Morgan on screen even with Morgan being in the spy world now.

I will really be bummed out if we don’t get a season 5 of Chuck but I’m trying to prepare my self just in case.

    • I’m with Chuck until the very end but I feel you FiveG. We’re probably in the minority on this forum though. A suggestion for lovers of the “ship” that feel a void from the show. Fan-fiction….it’s better than not watching at all.

  14. I enjoyed this interview and the fact that it was shot outdoors. Zac, Yvonne and Josh all seemed more relaxed and themselves. It would be nice if we could see other interviews like this. Maybe in Season 5.
