Note: Genevieve is Mel’s 12-year-old niece, who clearly has more energy and a better memory than Mel, so was able to write up her report from the Chuck panel immediately.
We woke up at 6:00 A.M. to get ready for the Chuck panel. We got in line about 7:00 A.M. We stood in one spot for a long time, but then started moving at a pretty brisk pace. We were right behind a man dressed up as Chuck in his nerd uniform. His friend also came over later dressed as Sarah Walker in an Orange Orange uniform. Don’t worry, we got photos.
The line was very long! It actually went inside, up an escalator, and back outside zigzagging through several tents. We stood in one of the first tents for a while, joined by Stacey, Daniel, Sarah, and some drinks from Starbucks. When we started moving quickly we got really good at zipping through the tent mazes. We got o.k. seats, not the best, but fine.
The panel started with a bit of video showing Fedak in his office with Josh and Ryan, thinking of what Morgan would do with the Intersect. Their big idea was…JEFFSTER! Then Jeffster performed “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. We saw clips of Josh training for his hard work as the Intersect. Then they brought in the cast.
Sarah Lancaster was not able to come and sent her regrets. I don’t know why, but Josh Schwartz was not present. Chris Fedak said he had a lot of ideas for season 5. SPOILER ALERT: Fedak said Jeffster would break up this year and it will be dramatic.
Here are some hopes and some favorite stunt scenes of the actors and the actress. Zac’s favorite stunt scene was falling off a balcony with Adam into a pool. Adam’s favorite stunt scene was catching Zac one armed. Yvonne liked the Thailand episode and the big fight on the catwalk. Scott would like to see Jeffster meet girls and have little Jeffster babies, and Vik wants to have a glorious death scene, preferably in slow motion.
Near the end of the panel, Fedak was having trouble answering a question and Yvonne made a joke. He was stuttering so much, it seemed like the walls, doors, floor, and ceiling were laughing themselves. Then there was a bittersweet moment where Zac started to cry at it being the last season. Then I ran off with my aunt (Mel) to the press room.
(To be continued…)
About the joke that Yvonne made, I didn’t quite understand what she said. Can somebody explain it to me. (myasset)
i would love to hear Yvonne’s joke!could this be a sign that we’ll see more of her taking part in the show’s comedy?that I’ve got to see… Zach being emotional about the show’s final season? I can very well imagine and just as well relate to that! I have come to love Chuck as a character and the show as a whole. Chuck has inspired me so much that my family and friends have supported me with everything Chuck! So, naturally I can’t imagine life after Chuck…so…
I just saw a video of the panel. A fan asked Fedak if we would finally get the science behind why Chuck’s brain is so special. He started his hedging (Well…uh…the answer is…um…) and she passed down a list of the things the cast wasn’t allowed to talk about and asked him if he needed to look at it (To help him not/answer the question). After that his hemming and hawing got worse. It was the sort of thing you’d expect to see from Josh, Zack or Adam. It being Yvonne made it funnier.
Well done, Genevieve. Clear and concise. Thank you!
Thanks for your report, Genevieve. I can’t wait for the second part. 🙂
Genevieve, many thanks for the wonderful review. It means so much to those of us that can’t attend.
Nice Job!!
